It is now 5 pm Saturday, and come to find out, they closed at 1, and we never got our pump!! We have been without water for 5 days now! I left them a voicemail saying that i expect it to be delivered first thing tomorrow morning. If they do, and all is well with the pump, I will change my rating, but at this point I am pretty peeved. UPDATE: Just spoke with the manager (Sunday), he was very apologetic, said the warehouse hadn't delivered to his store on Thursday, as they should have. He found a pump which they have in stock, which will work for us, and promised to personally deliver it tomorrow!! Couldn't have asked for a better response!

We have been customers of this store for over 20 years, even before it was bought by Bethel Mills…read moreand became an ACE Hardware store. We buy dog, horse and chicken food, paint, lumber, and much more and have usually had helpful, if somewhat spotty, customer service. ACE sent a flyer out with a bogo sale for paint in the days before Labor Day, 2018. When we went to our local ACE store-- Central Supplies-- it was closed on Sept. 3, the last day of the sale. They are normally open on Sundays so we were annoyed that we had driven a 10-mile round-trip into town for nothing. But when I called the next day and asked if they would honor the flyer's terms, given they were closed on the last day of the sale, I was told "no". I explained that we were loyal customers and that, if they were an ACE store, we expected that they should honor the terms of the flyer. Finally, after a clerk must have consulted someone, we were offered 50% off our second gallon of paint. I said, "thanks but no thanks" and hung up. I then tried to contact Bethel Mills, their owners, for a manager and ended up leaving a message but no one has bothered to get back to me. I try to buy local in my small, rural community but more and more, the "big box" stores are making it easier to buy-- credit cards, finance plans, military discounts, larger selections, online ordering with 2-day delivery right to my door. The only thing my local store can offer is better customer service but it seems Central Supplies/Bethel Mills just can't be bothered. They should opt out of the flyer if they don't want to be open on a holiday weekend. By the way, we went to Lowe's instead and they were open and happy to help us.

On several occasions they have ordered items from other stores that were not in stock, and directed me to products I didn't know existed after I described a problem. I have usually been waited on within a couple of minutes. And another plus: They don't shuttle you into into a corridor packed with candy, stuffed toys, and stupid stuff to wait while your children or grandchildren start whining for what is clearly a come-on. The Ace counter is right in front of you when you come in, and they'll answer a "Where is?" question on the spot. Thanks, everyone.

Liked it better before it became an Ace Hardware. Either the bar code doesn't work or the wrong items were listed for a pick up in the lumber yard forcing another trip inside to change the receipt as in take the wrong off and put the right items on and then back to the yard with a corrected receipt and when you get the credit card bill the return of the wrong products isn't credited. Too bad that the entire staff changes often and I don't recognize any of the clerks as neighbors anymore. Yesterday I purchased a quart of Bondo and when I arrived home and opened it there was barely a pint but the charge was for a quart so I bought the same product for a bit less online and I got at least 3/4 of a quart. I have decided that using this store takes up to much of my time compared to the other hardware store in town which truly is get in and get out. Again missing the days of Bob and John and can only hope that the new management pulls the team together and I will try again in about 6 months.
