The building has been here for over a century and it used to be a mortuary. The Hardware at Rochester is a part of Do it Best co-op and is located across from the grocery store on SR100. +++ Products and services are of a typical VT hardware store. The Hardware at Rochester (HR) is well stocked with a good range of hardware, home improvement and outdoor supplies. Over the years, we've bought gardening, seeds, bbq, light bulbs, plumbing products and pellets for our stove/fp., etc. Though HR somewhat serves as a general store beyond just a hardware store. They have a little of everything....house supplies, cute socks, sun hats and if you are in a bind with your hikers, they even have work boots that will get you by. If you are staying nearby and need something, this the place to check before having to drive to a city. Often, they will save you a trip :). + Price is typical for the area. +++ Service is friendly and knowledgeable! Rochester Hardware serves the surrounding Green Mountain area locals, vacationers as well as many visitors driving through Rochester.
