DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THE HARDSCAPE CENTER on Westwood Avenue!
The Hardscape Center at Westwood Ave in Richmond VA is one of the worst businesses we've ever dealt with. We bought a quantity of coping/caps for the top of a stone wall we were installing. After carefully measuring our wall in progress, and finding the style that fit, our pick was about 5 caps short of what we needed. Mr. Hardscape assured us he could get the additional caps we needed via vendor samples from the sales rep or another retailer. After one week we called and werestold the sales rep was still out of town; we were assured the caps would come. One week later, I went in and was told the caps were not a problem-don't worry. Finally, on a third visit our contractor, (installing the wall/caps) went to Hardscapes and was told the wall caps were not going to happen.
Suddenly, the caps were not available. Turns out, the product we purchased was actually delivered to the Hardscape in error by a vendor. They advised the only way we could get the additional caps was to order an entire pallet (several hundred $$).
It gets worse. After repeated attempts for remediation (and no call backs), I called from a different phone. I talked with the owner who was extremely rude. Hardscape owner basically said I was an idiot for purchasing a product that was clearly "not stock" and advised that his employee - the original Mr. Hardscape does not lie.
Well, yes, he does. He lied to us about being able to get the extra caps. And he lied to the owner about what he actually said to us.
Why would I buy a product - knowing I needed a few more - if I were advised additional items would not be readily available. Hardscape owner thought that was the funniest thing - as customers do crazy stuff. NO. I would not have bought it had I been told the truth.
We had hoped to do future business with them (boulders, future hardscaping), but that will not happen. We should all be glad to know they got a good laugh off us - and, oh, how great is it that they unloaded a vendor's mistake on some unsuspecting clients.
Well clients no longer - not now, not ever.
My review might have been different had they owned what was originally told to us read more
