The CSA features produce from local farms, many are organic too. They break it out in seasons and now offering year-round options. For the spring share, I paid in full to reserve a weekly share with pick up at Three Heads Brewing - $64 for 4 weeks ($16 per week). They have several other pick up locations, days, times, and even delivery. I opted for the small share, which is good for 1-2 people for a week. So far I've enjoyed making recipes with a few ingredients I've never worked with before like green garlic, rhubarb, beets, etc. That's the most enjoyable part for me - the challenge of cooking with something new and going outside my comfort zone in the kitchen with new veggies and getting creative. In their weekly emails, they'll break down what types of veggies you'll be getting that week as well as recipes they've compiled on Pinterest, which is handy! In addition to the veggie shares, they have several other options you can add one, including eggs, meats (chicken, beef, pork, duck), fruits, veggie burgers, bread, yogurt, and coffee (they partner with Fuego and Joe Bean). I haven't opted in for any of these yet, but am intrigued and may consider it down the road to try more local meats, eggs, etc.

I am really excited about the fall selection. Our first fall delivery had a great variety of (mostly) vegetables and some fruit. Everything was so fresh, and the portions were perfect. The price is well worth what you get. They have a number of pick up locations that service the Rochester area, and a variety of private and open-to-public pre-box drop off sites. I think it's a great opportunity to really support local growers, and I'm excited that the food is coming to me for the next few weeks.

The staff are always amazing. Today I was warmly greeted by a nice lady. We picked up corn, beans, zucchini and peaches. For $20, we landed on Coluccio from Sicily (1L) that the owner also uses in the cooking at their restaurant next door. She recommended it so we trusted her insight. Definitely good bang for your buck. We also picked up some dried porcini mushrooms ($5) and burrata (buffalo mozzarella & stracciatella - $12). The owner was a gem. Joann gave us cooking tips on the proper preparation for a cream sauce using the mushrooms. The items in the store are all from smaller artisanal Italian farms. I found most of the prices to be relatively reasonable considering they're all imported from Italy. They offer a variety of things that would be perfect for making a gift basket like pasta, canned tomatoes (San Marzano - the best!), spreads, and adorable serving platters. You'll find frozen clams for your next pasta dish or fresh deli meats and delicious buffalo mozzarella (the most delicious cheese in the world) for a homemade charcuterie plate. We walked to the patch and it was picked over pretty good. We saw bunch of guys in the field prior to opening to the public and perhaps picked them over pretty good. We stopped by the stand and they had massive strawberries!! We managed to fill our containers (none close to that quality) after awhile but seemed like every 3-4 plants one had a good medium size strawberry, most were tiny with a few rotten bigger ones and eaten/fungus mixed in. Got home and tried a few 'good' ones and they were very watery , not very flavorful. Prices were more than expected (internet research) and for the not so good quality of berries. First time strawberry picking, it looked like decent little farm just wish the berries were better and more plentiful. The ladies were nice. Might try another berry patch next time closer to home.

Giordano is one of the best of the bunch, as they have all the cheese you'd ever want...and I want a lot of cheese. I want the funky bleu, the creamy brie, the sharpest cheddar you can find, the chevre, whatever you can find from a sheep, certainly including manchego, and all the olives they have in stock too. I want the cheeses with fun additions like truffles and pepper and meat and I also want the meat that hasn't been added to the cheese, because meat is good on its own too. All that said, the last time I came in I felt like I was bothering the staff there. I got curt, annoyed answers when I was curious about a cheese I wasn't familiar with, and we ended up leaving with about 25% of the amount of cheese I wanted to buy just because it's not fun to put together a cheese plate with people who aren't trying to help you. I hope it was an off day, because I'll be back again soon. After all, I have a cheese problem.

Though it was almost empty on a Thursday morning it was difficult to get to the cheese display because the only two patrons were pretty much sitting in the aisle gabbing with one of the workers. We had to squeeze around them since they weren't moving. Once at the cheese counter the smallish selection of cheeses were unmarked so we needed to quiz the burly guy manning the counter. He was gruff and almost rude in his attitude. Almost unhelpful. It is lucky we bought anything at all. If you wanted your purchase wrapped in cheese paper vs. plastic they charged another $1.75. Really? Definitely not the positive experiences we remembered from the past. Very Disappointing!

Went to return a dead plant. I bought it a few weeks ago and tossed the plastic pot it came in …read more The manager gave me a hard time because he said that needed that pot to make the return . Really??? So you find it odd that a customer would replace the cheap pot and place the plant in a nicer one and just hold onto the garbage pot it came in. He was not going to let it go, so I said" fine, but ll be documenting this lack of customer service online. At that point, he said I could exchange it. I went to look and got some other kind of plant. The cashier then said to said manager " shouldn't she have to get the same kind of plant? " I was totally taken aback by the rudeness of the employees there. He ultimately allowed me to get the plant I selected. It will be a long time if ever , before I them give them any business.
