I have experenced dinner here on many occasions, but stayed only once. And from this i gave the restaurant section 4 Stars, while the Inn section 3.
The food is great, a fantastic selection of pub food with a gourmet twist. It is a Foodie pub and thus alittle pricey, but it is very nice, and good for the odd special occasion.
the decor is typical sussex country house, with paintings of Hunts on the wall and low beams everywhere, which gives it a qaint homely feel. The Inn parts are just as nice, with large comfortable rooms. However you do have to share a bathroom.
The biggest let down of this Inn is the owner..who over dinner you only have to deal with briefly, but while staying is somewhat of a chore. I believe that her one true dream in life was to be a school house mistress, and treats customers with that same ice cold characteristics that one treat a traunt child. read more
