I was desperately needing a highlight when a friend told me her sister went to this stylist on…read moreHazard Ave. and was over-the-moon happy with her very recent highlight which was also very reasonably priced. This sister, by the way, has "fancy hair" - you know, the kind that always looks spendy (because it usually is) and unattainable for us blue-collar girls? Yep. So I found Jackie online and immediately emailed to make an appointment. With just a few emails regarding schedules, I had my appointment and counted the days eagerly. Cuz I reeeeeally needed a freshening up (oh, winter, how I hate thee). The glorious day arrived and couldn't wait to get started. Jackie works inside Tony's Salon Di Eredita, which I'd never been in but found to be a modern mix of barber shop and salon. Busy, clean, and appealing in neutral decor (think modern farmhouse). Meeting Jackie was a joy. She's a young woman who knows her craft well. She's articulate, knowledgeable, and she's not afraid to answer questions like, "Honestly, how do you think this will look?" Because I like truth. I like honesty. When I ask you, "Do you think ashy-cool is a good look for me?" ... I don't want your mouth saying, "It'll be great!" when your mind is thinking, "It's going to wash her out, but if it's what she wants..." So after some sharing of ideas--and Jackie has some fantastic ideas--she went to work. And work she DID. For hours and hours. Um, and hours (I told you I needed a freshening up). But I was comfortable and happy, kicking back and chatting about the deep love of family and the passion one has for one's profession--and Jackie has both in abundance! When all was said and done, my hair looked fabulous. It was brightened up, perfectly toned, and gorgeously styled. Fantastic, right?? Absolutely. But what super-extra (yes, it's a thing) impressed me was 1. no weird "I just got my hair highlighted" lines, marks or streaks...zip, zero, nada, NONE and 2. my hair looked alive again...there was a gloss and healthiness and life that hadn't been there when I walked in Like my friend's fancy-haired sister, I was over-the-moon happy. AND it was, yes, very reasonable. I know that's not specific enough to be really helpful, but you can click over to her website and see her (very reasonable) fees and services. Thank you, Jackie!! I am so thankful for your ideas and your talent!!

I started having Michele do my hair for the past year and everything was fine. She said she was happy I was always on time and never cancel. I was happy with her color and haircuts. On 9/5/2023, that vibe, ended. I don't know why she didn't just cancel my appointment. I could "feel," the bad vibes when I arrived. She was snippy and weird. I brought up "Bridge of flowers", and she started screaming; "one place you couldn't pay me to go to is JAMAICA!" This went on and on...talk about awkward. Then we go to the sink, 30 minutes later. She always puts a neck support down, because I had a surgery this past February and she ALWAYS does this. She offered to do it last year, and I was very grateful. Not on 9/5/2023...she was rough and angry as she yanked my neck and blasted me with cold water. I called out:"I can't hold my head up, you're hurting me," She replies evilly with, "I know." "Why aren't you putting the neck support down", I ask? "YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT NOW!" What's wrong with you today? (Me) "DO YOU WANT ME TO STOP?" (Still screaming) and nobody's coming to see what the yelling is about. EVERYONE in there heard this. The other women were complicit to this behavior. Michele Anzalone has fallen into the "Karen," category. She really yanked my neck and it was on purpose. A month later and my healing cervical fusion and decompression, still hurts terribly. The price on the hair said $19.99 but I get to the register to find out that I have to pay $24.99 before tax. The owners wife, who is standing there with a dumbfounded look, says she doesn't know how that price got there. Like what? So I say obviously it is one of you guys' employees because I sure didn't put that there. She calls her husband and I called over one of the employees to show them that the package of hair I had and all the ones similar to it, are priced for $19.99. The owner(husband) comes with me to say he needs to check to just argue with me tell its not his problem and that he is selling it for the price of $24.99. He blames the prices being incorrect on the girl who is there in the store with us saying she is new, doesn't know what she is doing, and just puts tags on everything . So I went off on him. First of all, it is your problem as the owner who is always there anyway, to double check that the prices are what they should be. It's unacceptable to openly blame the employee and then get mad at me for wanting the hair for what the price tag on it says. I can see 1 item being priced wrong but come on 3+ plus items of the same all with the wrong price tag. Nobody including the young girl employee should be spoken that way. Stand behind your employee and correct the mistake. You come into a diverse town where the majority of the people living here are African American and Caucasian, set up shop and get so disrespectful. African and Americans and other people of color are the main people spending their money in your store. and then you have two people of color working underneath while talking to them like garbage. I don't see your kind in that store, working to help you or making any purchases there. Don't bite the hands that feed you. To the young employee, with love, remember the words I gave to you today.
