Every once in awhile, I get a craving for a good gyro platter. I have my go to spots, but they are all in Houston. There's a few places in Pearland that offer a gyro platter, so I've taken it upon myself to try them out. This spot has been around for a couple of years now. It is located in a shopping strip right across from the police station. Parking is plentiful. I have only done take out, but the space is always clean and they have tables for dine in as well. I have had minimal interaction with the employees, but customer service has been good on every visit. I come for one thing and haven't really explored their menu. They offer wraps, bowls, sandwiches, salads, plates, and even tacos and quesadillas. They have all kinds of sides and apps too. If you have a sweet tooth, dessert is available. My go to so far has been the Gyro Bowl. It comes with gyro, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, pita and rice. They have different sizes. I usually get the large and it can easily feed me twice. The bowl is always satisfying. The portions are nice and each items is proportioned just right. I typically mix everything together and add my sauces and I get meat in every bite. The meat is seasoned perfectly and pairs well with the fresh veggies and delicious rice. I will say the sauces are not their strong point. I think it usually comes with tzatziki sauce, but make sure you ask for their garlic sauce. I am not a fan of their hot sauce at all. It tastes more like tabasco or Franks, and it just doesn't fit the flavor profile of the food. I think a chili sauce would taste better, kind of like Halal Guys hot sauce. The pita bread is the size of the platter and is a great bite with the items in the bowl. Overall, I dig this place and definitely want to try out more of their menu. I will be back. read more

My wife and I stopped by Gyro Guys for takeout because we were craving gyros, especially since a couple of our friends are currently visiting Greece. Their Greece trip brought back memories of the best gyros we've ever had were from an eatery in Mykonos. When we walked in, I was a little thrown off by the digital menus since they flash a bit quickly, but thankfully they also offer paper menus (perfect for people like me who take forever to decide). The service was quick, and our food came out fresh and made to order. I went with the gyro tacos, while my wife chose the classic gyro wrap. Both were packed with flavor, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the lamb was tender and delicious. I won't say it topped Mykonos, but it's definitely a close runner-up. Another big plus: it was spotless inside, which I absolutely loved. Great customer service, fair prices, and amazing food. We'll definitely be back. I want to commend The Gyro Guys on excellent customer service. I stopped by after work one day last week to try out a newer business in Pearland. From the moment I stepped in the door, I was welcomed and asked if I needed any help with the menu. I ordered a lamb gyro and chicken salad, chicken rice bowl and an order of hummus and pita bread to go. While I waited for my order, I spoke to them about the business and the ties to the community. I could tell by the discussion, this business has a passion for the community and serving quality food. The lamb and the chicken were juicy and flavorful. I enjoyed every bite I sunk my teeth into. The veggies in the salad were super fresh. The rice was delicious. The hummus was superb and the pita really brought it all together. I really enjoy visiting businesses like The Gyro Guys who are committed to bringing quality food to the community in a no frills manner. Found this spot to try lunch with a friend who came to visit from San Antonio. The food was okay. All the vegetables were very fresh and tasty. The dressing was good. The chicken was a little dry (we both ordered chicken salad.) we got small salads and tea (in a bottle) . $17 each and the salads were small. The TV was kind of loud for the dining room. There was a toddler crying in the kitchen and when I used the bathroom - the toilet was gross. Whenever the bathroom is not clean - it makes me wonder about the kitchen and food. I really wanted to like this establishment because the service by Sajad was really great and friendly. However, after getting my plate I was not impressed. It seemed like it was typical run of the mill halal food that had been less seasoned because it was in pearland. My advice to the owner (maybe Sajad) is to check out the Halal restaurants on Almeda in Houston like Gyro Hut and/or M&M Grill and also Portara in Pearland. I think this establishment can do a flavor profile like those in Houston. Also, where were the Kalamata olives, red onion, Arabic pickle, and feta on the salad with the platter!!??? I've grown accustomed to Halal Time on 7th St in Austin, Tx so it's a must for me. Hope this review isn't too harsh because I really see the potential, but as of now it's another Halal guys or mediocre halal place. The wife and I came here for take away lunch. I'm still waiting on the young lady working the counter to say: "hello. How are you? How can we help you?" She never got around to that. When we walked in the door she looked up, saw us and said, "do you know what you want?" So that was strike one. Then she took our order, and the man that was working behind the counter with her came up and they talked and then they both walked off. Strike 2. After we paid, they left us standing at the counter. I guess we were supposed to figure out that we needed to go and sit and wait. It would've been nice for someone to say something first though. No one else was in there but us and the two workers. So it's not like they were so busy and slammed that there was no time for pleasantries. Then we got home to eat the food and realized that she had charged us $.50 extra per sauce, so that was instantly two dollars and hot sauce was absolutely necessary because the flavor of the food was so terribly bland. And I've had chicken Shawarmas from everywhere in the City Of Houston or Pearland. And these Gyro Guys sandwiches should barely be called chicken Shawarma.
