My first experience at 'the gym' I was not disappointed. Had a great workout. Lots of diverse equipment. Open and spacious. Friendly staff.

I am a senior. Wonder how much it cost a month to use the facility?

We do take silver and fit, humana, and other health related insurances. It is $35 a month with a $50 sign up fee. We accept card only.

I've been going to this gym for a while now. The facility is kept in clean and good working…read morecondition. The facility has two floors. The second floor has punching bags and other exercise items secured from the ceiling. The first floor has three sections. The first section is full of weight lifting equipment. There are machines along with free weights. The equipment is in good condition. There is one seat that has slightly torn and hadn't been repaired in months, but otherwise everything else is in good condition. There are sanitary wipes used to wipe down the equipment when you are done. I have found the equipment to be kept clean here. The second section is running/biking equipment. There are a few TVs so you can watch something if you choose. The treadmills equipment has a built in TV so you can plug in your headphones and listen. The rest don't have any TVs. There are approximately 30 or so machines. The third section is an Aerobic room. They have a television where you can play various exercise videos. There are also classes at specific times, but I've never attended. There are two showers and two bathrooms. There is also a tanning salon that you use for additional money. On certain days, especially Monday, the shower can be busy and there can be a delay. There have also been occasions when the water temperature wasn't warm, although this hasn't occurred in a few months. The facility is open 24/7. Once you are a member (about $40/month) you can go in whenever you want using a proxy key chain to get in. For additional money you can join group trainings and individual training. The membership is month to month, but you do have to cancel continued payments in writing. There are also initial fees for starting the membership including purchasing the proxy key chain. There is more than one Body shop gym in this area and the membership gives you access to all of the facilities. All in all it's a nice well maintained facility.

Example: my wife and I were members and I would hold the door for her when we came. The owner called and was upset with me for not shutting the door in her face and making her scan herself in. Prices are unfriendly to say the least and when trying to stop they try the "shame" tactic to keep you paying. If you want to come and look at the gym they make you feel like you are a vandalizing thief, the answer is a stern "no". The owner simply doesn't like or trust his fellow humans and that culture is tangible. I have truly felt sorry for employees that I can tell would be kind, friendly and helpful but are restricted by the poor policies.

Prices may seem steep at first but I cant put a price on my health and I have had huge improvements! His gym has the small family feel to it, and as a small business owner myself I know what it takes to be a sole proprieter trying to support ones family and stay in business. As for me and my family, we have not found better!

She began having trouble walking when she paid the $7,000. He just kept training her until she could no longer walk and is now in assisted living in a wheelchair. He refuses to call back the family in regards to a refund for the unused portion of $5,000 if you assume the $7,000 was for a year's worth of training. My mom has paid him over $28,000 in years past and this is how he treats her. He even lived with her for a month when he was going through a divorce. The payments to him have been all over the place in frequency and price. He was using my mom as his personal piggy bank. He wouldn't even stop a monthly $30 gym fee from her bank account for using the gym when it is closed even after he knew she could no longer walk. With her dementia and problems with her legs she had no business using his gym without supervision. Which is it Mr. Pierce, she so needed your assistance that you bilked her for $7,000 or she can do her exercises all on her own? Don't go to this man's gym or make sure that you don't blindly sign his ridiculous paperwork. You are on the hook for the whole amount as of the first day you sign up.

The front desk staff were very nice, but the clientele felt like the inmates at Leavenworth prison. Particularly one short, overly tattooed, white runt with spiky hair, about 40, wearing wireless earbuds so he can't hear all the negative things people are saying about him, who sits on machines for 20 minutes texting and not allowing anybody else to use them. I asked if I could work in and he said he had one more set. Then he started texting like a 15-year-old girl for another five minutes. I finally said something to him and he acted like I was the one being the jerk. What a tiny, sad life he must have, always trying to prove he's "tough", even to people that are friendly to him. Probably got bullied in elementary school and has been taking it out on the world ever since. Then I tried to use the other lap pull down machine, and the second guy using that one gave him an attitude about working in on it too, even though I asked him in a very friendly way. The first guy got up and walked away from the machine so I finally got to use the one I wanted to use in the first place, but then he came back and said he was still using it. This is about 10 minutes after I asked him if I could work in. We got into a ridiculous discussion until I finally had enough and told him he could have the machine if it was that important to him and that he clearly needed the little victory more than I did. I have two black belts and could've mopped the floor with him, but I just wanted to finish my workout. I walked away and used a different machine and observed as he and some other guys joked and laughed about it, trying to regain whatever actual pride he has, I suppose. And it suddenly dawned on me that the regular members at this gym are purposely harassing new people because the gym is probably overcrowded and they want to intimidate people so they won't come back. This should be a great concern to the manager because he's going to lose a lot of business running a gym full of jerks. They seem to have created their own little mafia, except without the actual deadliness. I would suggest hiring somebody that doesn't use the gym to pose as a new member and try to work in with some of the muscleheads in there to see if this is a strategy of theirs. When I was leaving, I complained to the front desk, but they didn't even offer to take a report or show any interest. They were very nice, but the right thing to do would've been to ask me to point this clown out to her so that she could know who the troublemaker of the Jim were for future reference. If that was my gym and there were short man complex afflicted butt flaps like him treating classy members like that, I would cancel their memberships. This gym is way out of my way. I was only there because I had some business in Nampa that day so I won't be back. If I do happen to need to use the gym again, let it be known that Shorty has used up his one free pass.
