I am very displease with this place. the customer service is…read morevery bad. let me begin. first day me and my wife walk in the manager gives use a "deal" month-to-month. 3 weeks later they tell us we need a card on file when we were told twice by two different managers we did not need a card on file. fine.. I put my card on file, and time comes to pay for the next month. so I pay for the next month and my wife's account disappeared. so now a different manager (tiger) is telling me I have to pay even MORE money for her account when I already payed for the both of us. this guy is trying to charge me double what I signed up for. I asked for a refund and left. how many managers run this place? nobody is on the same page. they would rather make more money and rip me off than keep a customer. now about the gym.. the free weight dumbbells, and barbells are NEVER organized, and I have not once seen an employee cleaning up and organizing like you would see at another gym also the gym is very crowded unless you go at noon. however they do have a fair selection of weights. the employees are nice, but the tiger guy "manager" was unwilling to cope with us and was more interested in changing our membership fee than keeping us as a customer. come here at your own risk.

This was a great place to workout at during my three week stay in Laredo. There is a ton of…read moreequipment here from machines to free weights to the entire gamut of cardio appurtenances. People here could stand to put their weights back and clean up after themselves. Nothing like finding a wad of gum sitting on your treadmill. The staff can only keep up so much after its patrons. Otherwise, this was a decent establishment with friendly staff. I would come back on future visits to Laredo.

The Good - The prices and promotions, they are constantly offering promotions and you could get a…read moregreat deal. The gym is okay if you don't take workouts seriously. If you're looking for cardio machines and squat racks, this is the place for you. The Meh - Parking. It's a hassle, it's always flooded and filled. It almost feels like there is a concert or a festival close by. The second thing is staff, most of the staff feels like they either don't want to be there and unwelcoming. Sometimes they are chatting away with friends or are not at the front desk when you need them the most. However, there was a gentleman (I have not seen him in a while, I assume he no longer works for Crunch F.) that used to work there around 4am-5am that was always extremely welcoming, he would always have a quick chat with everyone that came in. I believe he was a janitor/maintenance there. The Bad - Equipment. It's good, it's satisfactory, but the gym is always packed. For the amount of people, that go to the gym throughout the day, there is simply no way to get a decent workout in without waiting for someone to finish using the equipment you've been wanting to use, with that being said, add an extra hour to your workout routine due to wait times and that's if you successfully are able to get to the equipment you are waiting for. Cancelling membership is another bad deal. In order to cancel membership, you have to speak to a manager from Mon-Fri 11am-4pm (I might be wrong on times). If you want to cancel during the weekend, you can't. You might have to ask for a day off or go during your hour lunch if you plan on cancelling.

I regret ever having come to this place. Don't fall for these people's lies. Besides, it's a horrible gym it's way too big and there's mostly cardio machines.

When I arrived at the Del Mar location, staff told me the trial was not accepted and instead offered me a one-week paid pass. I agreed, signed some paperwork, and had my photo taken--under the impression that this was only for one week of access. I only used the gym once, as I found the facility lacking, the atmosphere unwelcoming, and the staff unfriendly. Two weeks later, I began receiving calls claiming my account was past due. When I followed up, I was shocked to learn that I had supposedly been signed up for a full-year contract instead of a one-week pass as I was told. When I tried to resolve the issue, the general manager refused to make it right. I was told I would need to pay $188.08 to close the account--"discounted" to $108.08--or the balance would be sent to collections. Despite clearly explaining the situation, I was treated as though I was at fault. After speaking with other military personnel, I found that this has happened to several of them as well. This seems to be a recurring pattern at Gold's Gym Laredo, and I would caution others--especially service members--to be extremely careful before signing anything at this location.
