I had leaky gutters and talked to several contractors about a new installation. The tricky thing is that I have a slate roof which really shouldn't be walked on and Steve really stood out bc he was the only one who said he can get a boom lift to get to the roof so he wont have to walk on it. Everyone else pretty much said, we'll try to be careful but cant guarantee anything which wasn't comforting to hear. True to his word, he and his associate Ebe never walked on the roof and managed to use the boom lift to do the entire installation. They actually had to upgrade the boom lift from a 40 ft to a 65 ft in the middle of the project but Steve still honored the original contract price. As if that wasn't enough, we also had some old leaks on the roof that Steve was kind enough to help us with while he was up there. Its been a great experience working with Steve and honestly so refreshing to see such a good guy in the trade. I loved that at the end he said "those are our gutters now (ie mine and his) and we will be here if anything happens to them" - he truly takes ownership and pride for his craftsmanship. read more

He even gave me a quote to add a downspout which seemed competitive. The next year I called several times to have him install the downspout and did not get any of my calls returned. The following year I tried one more time to get him my gutters cleaned and get the downspout added, but that call too was not returned. Admittedly, I was impressed with the way the project went initially. The project was quick and the end product looks great on the house. It was only after it rained that a problem was realized. A stretch of gutter from the front corner of the house to the front door was sloped the wrong way. Water collected in the end of the gutter and drips inevitable came down for days after the rain at our front door. When I contacted Steve about the mis-installation I received an aggressive voicemail about how he did not want to "own" the problem. I'm not a gutter specialist, but I have never known gutters to intentionally hold water. One major part of my problem here is that standing water is a public health issue, allowing mosquitos to breed right at my front door. Another, honestly, is principle. The work is obviously not right, and I am made into a bad guy for expecting that a mistake is corrected. If you want a fast, cheap gutter installation, you can try your luck here. I want to tell you how GREAT Steve and the Gutterbusters team is. I called Steve and the GB Team and a max of two weeks later, I had a new downspout and the gutters cleared and cleaned. Two weeks were great for me, since I waited three months for my roofing company to fix and replace. Steve was able to do it all! I just hope the bay area gets one more day of rain to see just how well they really work. Steve added a diverter on the new downspout that fixed a dripping gutter that was too close to the house. It was a huge concern, and it was determined an additional downspout was required. Steve's team left the property without a footprint of their presence and the gutters themselves upon inspection, have never been cleaner. His price was more than fair. I will use Gutterbusters again. I contacted about 5 different gutter cleaning services and the only person who called back was Steve. He called me back about 24 hours after I submitted my form online and scheduled an estimate for that day. He was able to schedule in an appointment that week and I didn't have to be home for him and his crew to come out to clean the gutters. I was pretty impressed with the efficiency and responsiveness. The price was very reasonable as well (I don't want to climb on the roof and spend an entire day cleaning out gutters by myself). I definitely would use them again. A quote was provided to me which I thought was more than fair. I contacted him and within days he was on my roof completing the job. Steve did an amazing job replacing our gutters, building an additional downspout, and repairing the existing downspout. He was highly recommended by Robert Jasso who was painting our house and discovered that our gutter was a mess (you could see the sky through the holes in the bottom of the gutter!!!) Steve was able to begin right away and was very flexible with his schedule so that he would work within the painter's schedule, even working on Saturday. He answered all of my questions and carefully explained the placement of the new downspout. He has his own metal shop so is able to beautifully customize the metal to the needs of the house.
