Absolute best thing to eat after a long weekend camping trip. After eavesdropping on a local tour…read moreguide on the best local restaurants to visit and researching online, Jj's Diner has been mentioned multiple times. To refuel both my energy and hunger level, the double cheeseburger was very enticing (no regrets have been made). The buns were nice and soft. Patties were juicy and seared nicely with the ideal crust, and the gooey cheddar cheese was possibly the best thing about this burger. Fries were also good and salted pretty nice.. could use a bit more crunch to it. Malt melted a bit too fast in the heat but nevertheless, the chocolate flavored dessert was delicious. Good to note that I had also tried my friend's cheese curds, I believe, and they were uniquely delicious with the seasoning, flavorfully on par with the cheeseburger. Be sure to try them out.

I ordered the double cheeseburger special with bacon and I was pleasantly surprised (I was expecting McDonalds but they exceeded my expectations with a restaurant quality burger), then I ordered a cookie dough cyclone and it too was delicious. My family commended the Chili Dogs, the Pizza Burger, the Fish Sandwich, as well as the Cheese Curds (aka Cheddar Crisps or whatever they're called). Absolutely would eat here again, in fact, I think it's going to be the go-to spot for food in Luverne. Color me impressed!

They give Jimmy Johns a run for their money! My favorites are the Hot Bobbie which tastes like Thanksgiving. Yep. it is roasted turkey with stuffing! My other favorite is the Slaw Be Jo which is stacked with beef slices and a ton of coleslaw. I've had coleslaw as a side at many sit-down restaurants and I am typically disappointed so I don't really trust anyone to get it right. But Capriotti's has a great coleslaw recipe. The coleslaw also makes the sandwhich juicy but not overly juicy where it becomes sloppy. Just perfect! The sandwiches are also really good sizes so you can eat half now and half later.

Two of our party had the ground beef steak, both said it was juicy and the potatoes were yummy. Two of us had the taco salad. It too was very good. We stayed longer than the normal lunch crowd, and the chef gave us tastes of upcoming menu specials... very yummy. Sunday is an additional menu with steak, filet and prime rib ( which they were out of by 6 pm!). My husband had the pricey filet which did not come with sides! It was excellent cooked over oak on grill but for $50 they could have thrown in a potato at least. We shared a beet salad which was very good. I had the shaved steak sandwich which came with seasoned fries. Sandwich was on a large ciabatta roll baked in house. Both were delicious. The dining area we sat is was so noisy! We did not realize the was a smaller room off of it that was quieter. Outside would have been great but it was too windy. The store, bakery, butcher shop and deli were cool but prices were definitely higher than we are used too. Food was 5 star, ambiance 3 star.
