Plus there were two entire filets on the sandwich. The breading was perfectly done and the fish was light and flaky. My grown kids had already raved about the fries and they did not disappoint. This was the perfect closing meal for our houseboat weekend. Waitstaff was fun and witty and super friendly even though we walked in close to closing time. The sunset from the table was breathtaking. If I lived closer, I would make this my regular haunt. I wish they were open for breakfast, but you have to wait until lunchtime. Another plus was just outside the restaurant is a small turtle/fish/duck habitat where you can feed the lake creatures. Even though it is probably geared towards small children, I found myself entranced watching the turtles and even put a few quarters in the food dispenser- so worth a quarter!

I've worked in food service for 30 years and been a lake goer for at least that long. The Jamestown Marina and Mama JJ in particular has lost our business forever. I also very rarely send food back or make a fuss or give a kitchen a chance to make it right. Today, on the lake the food was so stale and cold and the pork so hard and rubbery I hope we don't get food poisoning from the few bites we took trying it. It was not chewable and not swallowable. I asked the staff to make it right or for something else - they send me back an even worse entree that was even more cold and more stale ... I threw it in the trash. Here's a suggestion... if the customer asks or gives you the chance to make a bad experience better - try to do that and keep their business. Don't make it worse. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time with 5 employees. The server had to go get the cook from smoking hanging out on the dock and the other servers just stood around goofing off. We are retired and spend seven days a week on the lake in the summer. We spend a lot of money eating out on the lake. We will travel to the state dock, wolf creek or rowena or go hungry rather than give this place our money and business anymore.
