We have brought our dog to the DIY dog wash for years and had wonderful experiences with the original owner. Loved it, recommended it to others. People bought us gift certificates because I talked about how I was so delighted with the whole thing.
Since the ownership changed over, we had a terrible experience when one of the employees snapped at my daughter -- who loved to come and help wash our dog -- for something the employee herself did. I did not go back for a long time because of that experience, and when I decided to give them another try, it was another terrible experience. Asked for a dog nail trim, and the employee wanted me to sit on the floor in the lobby and hold my full-size, soaking wet, uncooperative dog still so she could clip her nails. Clipped some too short, dog was bleeding. Didn't clip some nails at all. Charged double what it was previously. I did a large portion of the work. Was the single most chaotic dog nail trim I have ever experienced in my life, and I used to work for the Humane Society.
I want them to do well as a business because I think it is a good concept and a good location and I would love to be able to utilize the business. Other people have had positive experiences, or so it looks like. Our experience since the new owners took over has been one of prickly unwelcomeness. But maybe what I think is rude is actually normal among the young people who work there, and I just don't understand. read more
