It is at a busier cross section so be sure to watch before you cross! I wanted to make a pit stop to check out Mother Earth Gardens, what started as a quick stop, has me excited to come back again when I have more time! I wasn't expecting the community collaboration that showcased local vendors and information about them which I loved dearly. The plants were placed in a manner that was fun to browse and find, and the pricing was fair. What made me really see this place stand out was the service I received from start to finish. I was warmly greeted, the door was opened for me and I was asked right away if there was anything I needed help with. In addition, they included that any question is welcomed and not to be afraid to ask. No matter if you're a beginner or an expert in the plant community, there's so much to learn and feeling the welcoming environment made it so much more enjoyable to browse and shop. If you're thinking of stopping in, I would recommend it!

When about February and they have very limited plant and very limited parts. The store was tiny and they have very small desk size plant inside nothing very big like a house plant. Cute little store for a Neighbourhood stroll away from the home to go and gaze up plants. They're so clean and it was organized inside. However, some other plants are a bit pricey because they're a very small sore.. They have a good amount of different parts outside. I think the summer with the warm weather coming up, they would have more yard decorations on display outside plus more plants.

You can find some rare plants or flower here. They have a lot of different size pots and designs. They have very good customer service, willing to assist. Love their metal urns and and garden figurines.

They also have a huge store inside with more colors & varieties of pots than you could ever want, plus assorted other supplies and knick knacks. I would say price-wise, they're about on par with other standalone nurseries (forget box store prices for gnat-infested plants that die within a month); they do have a wide selection of cheaper, smaller plants as well. Everyone who's ever helped me at Highland, from folks working outside to the checkout clerks, has always been so kind & super helpful. Everyone either seems to know everything, or they can at least direct you to someone who has the answers. My only gripes are: the parking lot is small & people don't always navigate it in the most efficient way; there's plenty of street parking, though, which I usually opt for instead. Pushing a car through the yard isn't always the easiest, so folks with mobility concerns should keep that in mind. That being said, I'm almost positive one of the lovely employees would help if you need it :) This nursery rocks & I can't recommend it enough!

She received a floral arrangement different than what I ordered, intended for someone named Kaci. My sister phoned within a day or two and was told they'd refund me. Two weeks later no refund so called them, was first told to seek redress through PayPal but told the nice woman that PayPal app directed me to them, the merchant. Then said she needed management guidance but they were gone for the day and she'd call me next day (today). Instead i get an email from "customer service" (an apparent misnomer) with a photo of the wrong flowers at my sisters door, telling me to call if I still have concerns. I am not impressed. If they straighten this out I may upgrade to like 2 stars, but not feeling optimistic so far.

The first time, I went into the office and was greeted with bemused confusion from the employees there. They had to wander the yard to find the person who was supposed to help customers, who greeted me with "we're closed." "I'm pretty sure you were open when we started looking for you." Reluctantly and with barely concealed exasperation, he instructed me in how to fill a customer-provided bag. I figured that negative experience was probably just because I'd unwittingly showed up right at closing time. (Apple Maps had the wrong hours. Oops!) Frustration is understandable. Maybe they'd had a long day. I figured I'd give the place a second chance. This time, I went to fill my bag as instructed last time, and the same guy came out to chastise me for not coming to the office first -- the same office where I'd been met with confusion the time before. He was, if it's even possible, even more of a passive-aggressive jerk this time around. ("You might consider a sign to help people know what to do...." "There's a big sign there that says 'Office.'" Thanks, dude.) The cheeky good humor of their web site was nowhere in sight. I left disappointed and ticked off. I truly feel for folks working in customer service. Been there. Customers show up, wanting unreasonable things, doing things wrong, always needing our hands held. It's so frustrating! But the fact is that the cornerstone of customer service is making unfamiliar and disoriented people feel welcome. Hiawatha Supply failed at that job. It's possible that this is a great place for landscaping contractors placing large orders. But for us regular folks just working on our gardens, I suggest going elsewhere -- somewhere we're actually welcome. I don't care to go back, and I have no doubt from the staff's behavior that the feeling is mutual.

The space is organized in a way that feels inviting and homey. The owner has always got a pot of coffee for guests and a cute little selection of mugs to drink from as you browse! She also makes some of the things in the shop, lamp shades and hats and maybe other things I don't know about. Very crafty lady, reflected in the curation of the shop itself. Largely decor/dish type items here but there's also some odds and ends you could grab for your own projects, like 25¢ old keys. I usually come away from here with just one treasure because they do have vintage rather than thrift prices. For example today I got a tea light holder with 3 hanging glass baskets for $26. I think that's pretty fair in this economy though, especially for a small business as lovely as this one.

First of all, I LOVE that the store is still owned and operated by E themselves. Amazing! They were at the cashier stand both times I came in. Second, I LOVE that this is a house outfitted to be a shop! It's sooo magical to see everything organized by theme or color coordination while wandering through the different rooms. Vintage kitchen goodies in the vintage kitchen?! Say less. Third, the prices are quite reasonable for the amazing quality and uniqueness!! It's such a well-curated shop, and deals around every corner. I got a bunch of stuff my first stop in, from macrame plant holders to art to bowls. I feasted my eyes on a vintage leather coffee table ($200) that I wanted for my space, and when I called a few weeks later, E confirmed it was still there so I came and got it. It's now one of my favorite pieces in my living room! I could come here every weekend (and find more to buy each time). I can't recommend this shop enough!
