If you know this place you must be heading somewhere towards the highlands. It's a pit stop that's known throughout Scotland. A stop that next to a couple of little Inns. A petro station and of course the shops. Basically a pit stop if you need the restroom. It's alway busy with tourist, tour buses and locals heading north. There's a few little shops thats all connected to each other. Your usual gift stores with literally everything and anything Scottish. Between the souvenir and gift shops is also an apparel shop. Seems more for the outdoors type of clothing. They also have a restaurant inside that offers soups, pastries, sandwiches both hot and cold. A cafeteria style where you grab a tray and head down to the register. Each visit, it's alway the sausage rolls and scones with jam and cream that's ordered. It's something about them that's is alway a must when I'm here. Also their soups were quite tasty. I believe there's another smaller cafe to the side. And a mini connivence store similar to a 7'11. Toward the back of property where the tour buses parked, there's also laundry services for use. Plenty of parking in the lot. It's a nice and pretty cool pit stop that's well known. read more

This place is a great rest stop if you're between Fort Willam and Glasgow for whatever reason. It's quite large and clean, has a lot of restroom capacity, a good cafe/coffee/snack shop, and a large and well stocked gift shop. It may well be the only significant rest stop on this route. It was a surprise also to me to see 'ol Gulf Oil still being marketed for petro, but more power to 'em. read more

Look, it's a rest stop - it's not a 5 star restaurant, but for what it is it's perfect and a great place to stop. For Americans it is similar to Buc-ees with a restaurant, snacks, merchandise, fuel and even a coin operated washer and dryer! Best part was the very clean restrooms, ample parking and friendly staff who went out of their way to help us when we were having issues with the washing machine. It's a great place to plan a stop between Glasgow and the Isle of Sky. read more

This is not fancy or luxurious in anyway. But if you are looking for a place to stretch your legs, grab a kitchy souvenir, find something hot to eat, or to just use the washroom this is the place for you! Of all the side-of-the-road stops I've been too, this is the most well stocked and offers plenty of options for shopping, food and general wandering-arounds. I bought some postcards, had a sausage roll (which was so oily that it soaked through multiple napkins - as they well should!) and was merrily back on the road in no time. read more

Great pit stop when you are traveling through Scotland. Everything we ordered was delicious!! The prices were great also!

Just what we were looking for! This was a terrific stop. It was quick (self serve) and quite good. I had a delicious bowl of mushroom soup and some very fresh bread. The toilets were clean and there was a well-stocked gift shop to poke around in. It was most pleasant and quick. read more

On your way back from the highlands of Scotland, you can stop at this spot in the town of Tyndrum for some tacky souvenirs, crappy coffee or any other snack. Best thing about stopping here are the surrounding views. Otherwise, it's just another pit stop for tourists. It is what it is. read more

I thought this old-fashioned style of Scottish in-hospitality was gone for good. But no - small, miserly portions of the poorest quality food at super-high prices. My cheese and ham toastie was just depressing: one slice of rubbery ham, and a slick of red cheese on plastic white bread. My empire biscuit was stale, and along with a wee soft drink that cost me over £6. I suppose they get a captive audience in people driving by and in coach tours, and there's no real need to entice anyone back. The gift shop was reasonable and the loos were clean - and to be fair, the actual dining area is pleasant enough, with nice little booths to sit at. But the food is minging. read more

Perfectly positioned for a quick loo break and to grab some snacks before heading on into the hills. The Green Welly Stop has something for everyone... outdoor clothing, hillwalking maps and accessories, clean (award winning) toilets, a cafe, a restaurant, a gift shop and a petrol station. Following a hot stomp around a couple of Munros in the Bridge of Orchy area the ice cream, particularly the Irn Bru flavoured variety, was a welcome reward from this well positioned establishment! read more

This place along the high way (haha, High Way you call those in Scotland, in the Netherlands we wouldn't even call it a B-road, but hey, I don't complain) won this years Loo of the Year 2014 award! 5 stars for that. With a very cool message in the ladies section that the place is being kept clean by a male attendant. Very thoughtfull. For my Dutch little viewers: think vd Valk combined with Mc Donalds, but then very clean, very nice hard working staff, little shops with everything you need for the road or your trip throught Scotland and cafeteria food from a served buffet that really isn't bad. My favourite stop en route to Glencoe and the Highlands, Green Welly is a must. The restaurant is a self service canteen style affair with cheerful staff and eighties style decor. Its a very slick operation with tables being cleared quickly, essential when there are coachloads arriving throughout the day! We availed of the meal deal, which if I recall correctly was £5.50. For this less than princely sum I had a bowl of vegetarian home-made soup, a cheese pasty and a soft drink, though I also had the option of tea or coffee. I also got to use their 'facilities' both on the way in and on the way out. As the Queen Mother used to say, "never knowlingly pass up the chance to use a WC whether you need it or not" (or something to that effect). When you're heading into a vast highland wilderness its even more important to heed her majesty's wise words! The Green Welly Stop is probably the first roadside cafe where I went in for lunch and came out with a new coat! Recommended. read more

Love the Green Welly Stop!! We are keen runners and love running along the West Highland Way so when we are in the area we have a stop by whether it's running or driving by. Great for a cup of tea and breakfast. The shop is good to have a look round it has some Scottish bits and bobs to buy. read more

As the fantastic scenery on the drive to this place will have satisfied your soul, the great wholesome home cooked food should satisy your tummy. Great home cooked food and cakes. Superb whiskey shop. Good range of outdoor clothing. Nice foodie bits. Great gifts. Well worth a stop though it can get very busy in summer. Biker friendly (the owner is a biker) and the bike parking is at the front of the car park. read more

The buffet food is delicious!! This place is a kind of "truck stop" for tour busses, we didn't have our hopes up but were pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing, the shops were cute, and the little village is charming. read more

A great place to stop! It's exactly half way between home and my friend's house, where I visit several times a year. I always stop for a coffee and a browse in the excellent shops. Good choice of snacks in the cafe. The only downside is that it can be very crowded. read more

Mediocre food really for where it is situated. Expectations were high and was expecting good hearty fare a nice all day breakfast was in my sights. Nope just a load of disparate snacks really. Finally one of the staff said we could wait a few minutes for the lunch menue to be avalable, excellent. So we waited the four minutes by which time the queue was out the door. Patience I thought, wait for it to die down and then join the queue again. So, in we went and I thought about a pleasant cilli burger with all the trimmings. Nope, almost unbelievablely no chips, always a rare treat for me. So I had a tasy macaroni, bacon and onion main course. Tasy but very heavily salted, this after being no chips because they liked to keep the menu healthy. Didn't really explain away the piles of pastry pasties on offer though. Poor offerings really, mediochre at the very best. read more
