    Dart boards.

Durham's got a TRUE dive, and it's called The Green Room. Oddly enough, I lived right down the street from Green Room for a whole year and never visited [I'm kicking myself over this now!] The Green Room is a pool hall with cans/bottles of beer, an arcade game or two, some dart boards that have seen better days and a fuzzball and shuffle board table. Pool is tracked per person [NOT per hour!], the time is recorded when you start and then you pay up when you're finished. Beer is kept in a cooler with prices under each bottled section and if you give the bartender a tip he rings a bell! The whole bar is one big open area with five pool tables on each side divided by a competition sized shuffle board table in the middle. Although it's a large space, it has DEFINITELY seen better days. The linoleum floor is definitely falling apart, with pieces and parts missing all over [careful if you're wearing heels!] But honestly, The Green Room is all accepting, whether you just want to grab a seat at the bar or gather a group to shoot some holes, you're got options. Beer bottles range from about $4-$7 with LOTS of options for the craft beer lover [they even had grapefruit Sculpin on our last visit!] I wish the Green Room was a little more convenient to downtown but it's not too far off by car. If you're looking for an evening activity and don't mind a grungy spot, The Green Room might just be your new favorite spot.

Do your lungs a favor and don't come here. My clothes smelled like smoke even after I washed them. The Green Room has plenty of tables, two dart boards, foosball, shuffleboard, and a bar with mainly beer. Everything in here is a little run down; this is definitely a dive. The biggest drag for me were the guys who would brag about their pool prowess and offer advice, but couldn't shoot to save their lives.

Cheapest pbr within durham city limits. Kept on ice in the cooler, not in the fridge. I don't play pool. Five stars.

What a great dive! We had a super cold beer and played a few games of pool. Everyone was very friendly! We will definitely be back!

I went twice on a weekend trip to Durham and my bf and I enjoyed ourselves both times. Remedy has some cheaper outdoor seating and dark windows and I was surprised at what I saw inside. I put my face on the glass to see if they were open since they had a cool logo. The 2 bartenders smiled and waved, and we came back after dinner. They were helpful although not super friendly, which was fine since we were the only ones inside and my bf and I were enjoying our private conversation. Comfortable bar chairs and soft seating. They were playing goosebumps on Netflix, and had a really good music playlist. Unisex bathrooms. We were here after dinner and it seems like a later night place. We came back the next night since we liked it so much around 9 and it was busier. Most patrons were choosing to sit outside which perplexed me since it's so cool inside. Remedy seems like they don't know what they want to be. It has dive bar vibes, but great drinks and upscale furniture inside. It was just the atmosphere I wanted, but could see why people might not like it since it's not the norm. I think they could improve their cocktail menu, and potentially offer table service.

I've been served and then aggressively carded right after, which feels unnecessary and unprofessional. I went in there around 10 o'clock on a Thursday for food and was told their kitchen was closed... mind you they close at 12AM.... There was a woman in the kitchen. It seemed like they just didn't want to take my order... Then I had a friend text me later and tell me not only did they stay open after saying that they were gonna close early... But that they usually serve people food. Those people usually do Coke though. As a young Black woman, multiple times I've come in and they have less than 10 people in the room and STILL it's difficult to get acknowledged or served, it is a small space. So being ignored by the bartender when they could barely minimum acknowledge me It's a bar like if y'all don't even have food why can't I get in contact with the bartender? I went in with one of my friends from out of town and she told me they were being racist. This is a white woman I went in there just to ask them what time the upstairs dance floor was opening not only did they ignore me they acted like they had move around and disappear to the hallway not making a drink at all just to make it look like you're busy so they don't have to answer my question. Upstairs, the environment feels unsafe and even more poorly managed, with serious boundaries being crossed and ignored. I watched a female on their staff get groped and nobody cared. You will never catch a black woman bartender there. It's by design. Overall, this place is not the safe, welcoming space it used to be. Please be careful. #RIPANGELA

We made a reservation for a Saturday night dinner and he made sure we were well taken care of all night. We started the night with their James Bears award winning cocktails, and every drink we ordered was a hit! Spiced strawberry mule, Sunset Sipper, and the table favorite: Earl Please. The latter two drinks were mocktails and they were still standouts! As for the food, the Alley burger was perfectly cooked: juicy patty paired with truffle cheese and simple toppings that really highlighted the burger itself. And shoestring fries are always a good choice with a delicious burger. Ricotta gnocchi was also very good. As our server Anthony said, let's get this burger nominated!

I go here to celebrate milestones with a good friend and we always have a mini feast, paired with a glass or two of wine. My favorite time to go is when the weather is comfortable and we can sit in the alley way, it's soooo chic that it feels like you're sitting outdoors at a meal in Italy of France. Service is always on point and I forget the bartenders name that is super knowledgeable and super kind. When I remember, I'll circle back to update this review. If you're thinking about this place, definitely check it out! The only inconvenience though is that I believe is 21+ over, at least at night it is.
