No coffee, they only serve tea drinks, a few tea accessories and plates, and a small assortment of food and baked goods. The matcha tea latte was one of the best I've ever had and it paired really well with the oat milk. They also have almond or soy milk, so plenty of dairy-free options. The matcha latte was not sweetened and it was delicious - they use high quality matcha that you can really taste, unlike other matcha tea places that unnecessarily sweeten the tea to mask the matcha flavor. The size of the tea was also pretty large and it was all really excellent. They have one long communal table and some seats along the window so you can do a little bit of work or reading, and their WiFi was fast. The food is very limited but what they have looks good - they have avocado toast and toast with nut butters; the pastries look tasty too. I'll have to get one of their toasts next time I'm here. They also have energy balls if you're looking for a little snack. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you want a quiet and cozy place to hang out with a friend or a date, or want to get some work done. John and his son Noel prepared a wonderful afternoon tea for 12 excited ladies to help celebrate my grandmother's 97th birthday. The food was scrumptious as well as beautifully presented. John and Noel made this special occasion even better by delivering a great spread for our celebration. I am still dreaming of the cheese scones and plan to visit again in Feb 2017 when I return.

The Bistro is an old, tastefull converted dock building that was one of the first in the renovation of the Ipswich dock area. The food is modern british with continental overtones. There is plenty of choice of both fish, meat and veggie dishes so there should be something to please most palettes. There is also an extensive wine list. My wife has a particular liking for their pint of shell-on prawns served with garlic mayo and thick, crusty brown bread - as a starter. The prices are not too expensive, but the food is very good and I think it represents good value. A word of warning - the one downside of the Bistro is that you have to book well in advance. This is even more true in summer when the yachties tend to be in town. Overall very nice place, good food - can be very romantic (if you are that way inclined) especially if you can get a sunset booking in summer.
