Beautiful place to stay and the earnings are for animals. The woman running the Barn was really kind and friendly! Highly recommend.

I wish Yelp offered no stars or negative stars. This place, the separate Carriage House, in…read moreparticular, was so bad we considered just sleeping in our truck instead. There was a cloying smell permeating the building that did not dissipate despite open windows all night (in 27° weather). The furniture is shabby and uncomfortable. There are klieg lights alongside every window upstairs, so you can't sleep. It really is right on 209 and they know it's noisy because they said they offer their guests earplugs! (Which they never actually did.) The only bright spot were the linens, which were actually quite nice. More than all that, the owners are unavailable and really (really - believe the other reviews) don't care. They are not reachable and Chef Marc is very nice but can't do anything for you. We had to leave, not because it was hell to be there, but because of a sudden family medical emergency, and they refused to even refund us down to their 3-night minimum. We had paid in advance for 8 nights - and just the previous day, so it wasn't like anyone else would have booked it. We understood that they would want their minimum stay and cleaning fee. But they didn't refund us one penny. They are really unfeeling, uncaring people. Avoid this place!!!

The location is perfect for exploring the neighboring towns as well. Not one complaint. Booked through AirBnB. Thank you Mark, Kim and Amy for a wonderful weekend.

The robes and towels are thick, and the Amma hair products smell glorious. Amy left us all manner of good things to eat and drink, and we did not want for anything. She's an accomplished baker, and if you're gluten free, the blueberry muffins are really special. Situated just a couple of minutes from the Walkill Valley Rail Trail, The White Heron is perfectly located for any of you who wants to spend as much time on that wonderful area feature as possible. We did two hour hikes each day, one trek down to New Paltz and one trek to Rosendale. If you'd rather bike than hike, then don't leave yours at home! It's a short drive to NP, and then about twenty minutes down to The Ranch, for any of you looking to sky dive.

The owner is very respectful, keeps you posted on everything you need to know and her "morning baskets" with home-made baked goods were to-die-for. The farm is secluded and away from the road. We were greeted by Tim who owns the farm and he was warm and pleasant. The tipi is huge and there's so many nooks you can go and take nice pictures. It was a little chilly at night but that completed the experience. I had the best sleep. And of course, the best host was Clair (retriever) who followed us everywhere, toured us around the farm and even came in the morning to wake up my son with kisses. I highly recommend this place and I plan on visiting again with the rest of my family.

We got the breakfast package and both mornings they put together an awesome breakfast for us up at the main house. We stayed in Mr. Ed's Annex, which had a nice little kitchen (they supply most of the basics in terms of pots/pans/utensils, so don't feel like you need to lug a bunch of kitchen stuff with you) and an awesome steam shower in the bathroom. The bed was super comfy and the space as a whole was nice and cozy. There was a little backyard area overlooking the horse pen with a grill and hammock, but given that mid-March is peak mud season and rather chilly, we did not put that area to use. The chickens, goat, and dogs greeted us whenever we went outside. The goat took a shine to both of us as evidenced by his insistence upon gently headbutting us when we pet him. Up by the main house there is a hot tub, which we used twice - so relaxing! We definitely would come back again!
