Cute caffe- the pastries and coffee are delicious

I can't even describe how much I love this hotel - it's so unique and has so much charm. The service was impeccable. The rooms were very clean and the beds were so damn comfortable. They do little touches that made it feel extra special, like leaving s'more kits on the door and weather forecast for the weekend with hiking recommendations. The pool was so great too and the restaurant and caffe were both great. My only complaint was that our room was on the first floor outside of the fire pit and you can hear everything going on outside, next door and above you. If you're a light sleeper like me, I def recommend ear plugs (which I luckily had but didn't block all of the noise) and requesting a second floor off center room. I've traveled a lot and this was hands down one of my all time favorite hotels.

What a charming, adorable little place this is! I love the 60s hippie vibes. The room was very clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful. My kids loved the pool. So close to downtown Woodstock. I'd definitely stay here again!

Unfortunately the Hotel Dylan is not what it once was. I have stayed at Hotel Dylan about 10 times and after my last experience I will never stay there again. The manager Darryl is awful. He has no experience in running a hotel and was previously a director of golf in Florida. He is abrasive and rude. He definitely does not embody the attitutde and behavior you would expect from someone running a small hotel in the catskills. They used to have two ladies running hotel dylan who were so friendly and nice. We booked the Band Suite this time. There was someones old food in the refigerator, the light fixture above the desk was full of dust as if it had never been cleaned, and the lights above the bathroom mirror did not work. When you are pay $300+ for a night you expect everything to work and be clean especially during covid. I have always stayed with my dog at Hotel Dylan and never had any issues. The place has changed though so now you receive a 4 page document at check in with highlights as to the rules with the dog. Not really the peace, love, stay motto. Although I have always found the rooms noisy because the hotel is on route 28 and you can hear trucks all night I always loved hotel dylan because the rooms were clean and the people were friendly. The rooms are not clean and seemed run down and the people are awful so I would not suggest this place to anyone. Pay a little more money and stay somewhere that is run well and that you will be treated nicely.

This place is incredible. So well appointed, so cool, funky,chic... all of it with yes, rock and roll! Each room has a turntable and records. How much fun is that. What a great way to relax apres any activity and rev up for dinner out. The staff are so hospitable and accommodating. Darryl, one of the owners, is very hands on and a great conversationalist. Talk to him about golf, guitars, west coast skiing and wine. Prior to arriving they were quick to respond to emails and helped us find a restaurant to celebrate a double birthday. Lots of places to breathe, hang out, sit by the fire. Upon arriving back from dinner we had a s'mores kit hanging on our door knob! Yes! Why do I need that...Each night there is a fire in a gorgeous fire pit. Be sure to sit in the swings at the bar/lounging area and get a free donut (for Leon, not me!) in the office cum gift shop. After driving by this place countless times on the way to hikes, thrilled to have the occasion to stay.

Dylan Hotel! What a fun place! Clean, cozy & bright!

The…read moreinn was clearly a motel in a previous life, as it had that lengthy structure with outdoor entrances to each room. The parking lot was gravel-based, so vehicles were parked a bit haphazardly, but the lot's spaciousness ensured that it was not really an issue. The hotel was right on the stream with a lovely grassy area dotted with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, and other ways to enjoy the view. The office was located right next to that little park and was also where the continental buffet breakfast was served. The small room had a great view of the water from its few tables. The breakfast options included various hot beverages, several types of milk, yogurt, berries, granola, pastries, breads, hard-boiled eggs, lox, tomatoes, cucumbers, and more. It was really the perfect few bites to start the day with energy and wellness. While the inn had a few larger cabins, many of the rooms were supposedly rather tiny, including ours. The room had a queen-sized bed, nightstand, wall-mounted television, and wooden desk with matching chair. There was a closet with some hanging and shelving space, as well as a hair dryer and coffeemaker. The room really left a lot to be desired from a space perspective, as it was hard to navigate. For instance, the room might have come with 2 luggage racks, but there was really only space for one. The bathroom was also tiny, and it was near impossible to use the toilet without sideswiping the pedestal sink on your way. The shower was a decent size at least. The bathroom came with fluffy towels and Aveda products, which were both appreciated. We also loved that the temperature and pressure of the water were phenomenal; in fact, the shower was like a fire hose! Though the room was small, it was SPOTLESS! Also, its individual heater packed a great deal of warmth. There was not an abundance of electrical outlets, but the alarm clock had one built in, as well as two USB ports. The extremely gracious staff had also left a binder of local recommendations for us on the table. The bed, however, was lumpy, and the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. From a location standpoint, the inn was only a few blocks from either end of town, depending on which way you wanted to travel. The residential roads were very dark at night and many did not have sidewalks, so we definitely needed to be alert walking to and from the main drag, even though we knew the town was overly safe. The Woodstock Inn on the Millstream made up for its lack of amenities and small rooms with efficient, friendly service and clear dedication to guest satisfaction.

We had yogurt with fruit and granola, warm blueberry muffins and a croissant. And with a communal table, you never know who you'll meet. Getting there is easy. While the entrance is right on Tinker Street, there are four parking spots on the side, or ample street parking on Neher Street (at least in November). Our room was decently sized and the air conditioning unit was efficient in keeping us cool during the summer heat. Our pillows varied in sizes and we sunk into the bed, which we didn't really enjoy but that's just our personal preference. If you're a light sleeper like I am, be prepared to wake up quite often when other guests goes in and out, for the walls are quite thin and certain rooms require more force in order to close/lock the door, so the sounds will definitely bleed through. There were also no body wash available in the three shared bathrooms. The shampoo and conditioner were also quite challenging to squeeze out from their tiny bottles. Breakfast was served from 8 to 10:30am, which encompassed a croissant or blue berry muffin, some mixed fruits, a glass of orange juice, and they have readily available coffee K cups and a variety of milk, ranging from whole, half and half, and oat milk. The breakfast was just a simple continental breakfast, where almost all the items were pre-made, which felt a bit underwhelming perhaps because we've been to Bed & Breakfasts where we received at least some simple home cooked breakfasts like eggs or French toasts. Overall, our best experience here was talking with Leanne; we really enjoyed our conversations with her! There are a lot of room for improvements, so I hope this review will help them continue to grow and become even more amazing. Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

(Cross posted to Trip Advisor.)…read more My husband and I just returned from a long Thanksgiving weekend away at the Woodstock Country Inn. From my first night there I was already wondering when we could come back. The house itself is lovely, and each room has a private porch or terrace. It's so peaceful and quiet and set back from the road by a long driveway, so it feels like a true retreat. We opted for the White Room, mainly for the king-size bed, and we loved it. Even though it was cold, we spent a good deal of time on the terrace just gazing at the mountain vista. I've been to yoga retreats where I didn't feel as serene and relaxed as I did on this trip. Also, if you have allergies, this is THE PLACE to book. I have really terrible allergies to dogs, cats, etc. and when I looked at the reviews for other Woodstock B&B's, almost all of them mentioned a proprietor's cats and/or dogs or being dog-friendly. I was so thrilled that this B&B is known for being hypoallergenic and not allowing pets. I knew I wouldn't have to deal with down pillows or comforters either, to which I'm also terribly allergic. The bed linens were clean without that antiseptic/bleach smell that's also an allergy trigger for me. I just felt super comfortable the whole time, which is so rare for me at any hotel or B&B. Carol, the owner, is absolutely lovely and a treat to talk to. I'd honestly love to spend more time with her and hear more about her life. And her assistant Tara (also lovely and a treat to talk to) made us a wonderful breakfast each morning, even picking up my requested goat cheese for my omelette! The drive into town is about 10 minutes or less, so you get the fun of being close to Woodstock with the serenity of a set-back farmhouse in Bearsville. We definitely want to come back in the summer when the saline pool is open!

Across the street from a music store and an amazing noodle shop, the hotel also sits near dozens of other local businesses that capture the essence of downtown Woodstock. It's seriously brilliant, and you won't even need to drive for a meal or some great shopping. The hotel is well preserved, though it shows its age. The creaky, bowed floors are charming but serve to remind that the all-wooden building harks to a simpler time. Sound also carries, but we were fortunate to have quiet neighbors on our weekday stay. The clawfoot bathtub was a wonderfully classic detail, although it is far more aesthetically pleasing than it is utilitarian. Still, there was nothing lacking, and the lodging represents a decent value, at least for a winter weekday stay. It does help to temper expectations, though, and if you're able to do so, it'll be a lot more pleasant!

The only people you will run across once you pay a lot of $$$ to stay there are the cleaning ladies (all women of color, of course.) When the temperature dropped below 39 degrees, we tried to contact them through the Airbnb app (since there is no other way to reach them.) It took over an hour for them to turn on the heat. No apologies or explanations for the delay. We also never got a response for a discount that they offered to us for a subsequent stay, despite us contacting them multiple times through, of course, that Airbnb app. It's like trying to contact customer service through a 1-800 number. The rooms are small, but decent. The first time we stayed there (I know now), it was nice only because the place was nearly empty. The problem is that if you aren't the only ones in the building, you can hear everything your neighbor does - sneeze! Flush the toilet! Talk! Watch TV! If you are below another room, it sounds like people are treading right above your head. I couldn't sleep, even with earplugs. Because reviews on Airbnb are a two-way street, I think many people who stay there censor themselves. I want to make sure those who at least check on another website can get a better sense of the place before they book a room there. I imagine this place is run by some hedge of fund jerks who never go near the place. Just cashin' it in. $$$$$$$
