Not knowing Lacey's background because she was a rescue and had clearly been through a lot, I knew not only Lacey but I needed training as well. We all did. I enrolled Lacey for the daycare program/KT and John came to our home and we started training in her home environment also. We rescued Jenna a year ago and both girls absolutely love going to daycare, boarding, and their training programs. I've learned so much and use these tools at home daily. My girls adore the staff / me too, and I know they are getting the very best care. It's a hike for me but worth it. I'm very thankful for PCC.

I discovered Timber Ridge Farm in Saco, Maine about a month after I moved to Massachusetts from…read moreCalifornia (military orders). I was in search of a German Shepherd Dog breed specific breeder on the East Coast to add to my family in addition to my German Shepherd Dog I had from the West Coast. I must've looked at 20+ websites for various GSD breeders, until I stumbled on Timber Ridge Farm's website. I contacted Doreen about a litter of pups she had and made a deposit on the last available male from the Tux Z Arnultovic IPO3 and Piper Z Timberridge IPO3 FH1 litter (May 30, 2014) and arrived on July 25, 2014 to pick up my new puppy, Jax. Doreen even gave me a military discount on the final balance of Jax, which was very generous of her. Subsequently, I brought Jax back for further obedience training with Doreen. I underestimated the "working dog" in Jax, and blame myself for not meeting the level of need/demand he required as a working dog. We lived in a townhouse with no fenced yard, and my husband and I figured that walking Jax and dog park visits would be adequate for Jax as it had been for our other GSD who is 2 years old than Jax (she is now 4 and he is 2). Jax had basic obedience training that I taught him (potty trained, sit, stay, down, speak, etc.), but he was also very smart and knew that he only had to behave when I was watching him. He tore up every single bed we bought him throughout his life, destroyed two crates (eventually we had to invest in a $600 military working dog aluminum crate for him), ate cardboard boxes if we left them on the floor, yelped and screamed (temper tantrum) during the entire duration of a walk outside (so much that people would stop and stare as if we were beating him), walked around the house and high pitched whined non stop until my husband and I would give him some attention, he was just an all around monster dog (like the animal planet TV shows) that demanded our attention otherwise he would throw a tantrum. We love Jax and even at times we thought it was "the last straw," we just knew that he was a member of our family and we needed to make it work. We tried a dog trainer in Massachusetts for a few weeks, but they were unsuccessful in training Jax nor did they even reply to my last email regarding my concerns with Jax at their facility. We even signed a new lease at a higher rent home just to be able to give Jax a 1/2 acre fenced backyard to play in. We were doing all that we could to give Jax the best life and environment to thrive. So I got back in touch with Doreen and drove the 2 hours back to her facility with Jax in tow. I dropped Jax off on April 2, 2016 and picked him up on May 2, 2016. On Jax's first day back home, he was a brand new dog. I recognized him, but then I didn't. No more whining, no more leash pulling, no more attacking our other GSD, I fell in love with Jax all over again. I was nervous taking him out on a walk (despite the other nightmare walks), but he walked out the door with such grace and plopped his butt down on the porch and waited for me to lock the door. He had his full attention on me during the walk and every time I abruptly stopped, he simultaneously looked up at me and sit his butt down by my side. When I had him "sit," he would stay put (despite me walking around the house), until I gave him the command that it was OK for him to move. He was still the same dog (inside). He still loved to cuddle with me on the couch (when I let him up), and he still followed me around yearning for affection and to be petted. Doreen thoroughly briefed me on what I was doing wrong (I was boring to him) and gave me some direction on how to improve and what to continue to do further. She consistently provided me updates on Jax throughout his 30 day stay with her, sent pictures, and videos. At my request, she also started protection dog training with Jax, and it was amazing to see my friendly dog, who can run up to the UPS guy wagging his tail, bite a trainer's arm on command. At no point during his long boarding at her facility was I ever worried about his well being, like I normally am when boarding him at another boarding facility. From the beginning, Doreen has always been responsive to my e-mails, questions, and inquiries. Her business offers a variety of services that is not only limited to GSD breeding, but also includes obedience/tracking/protection dog training, dog boarding, and equestrian boarding. All at amazing prices, considering the level of service you receive from her. Her facility (that I have been to a few times so far) shows her dedication to these dogs with many spacious kennels, a separate building for indoor dog training, and large fields for outdoor dog training as well. I've taken my dogs to various boarders and trainers where walking inside makes me feel bad for dropping off my dogs, but here, I feel as if I'm dropping my dog off to doggie vacation. It's a two hour drive for me to this place, but it's well worth it!

I had a very bad experience here. I was told one thing and a very different day happened for my…read morepuppy. He was left alone in a crate in a "cabin" with no toys to chew. I was told he would have a playmate, that didn't happen. That cabin is a room with nothing in it. I was told later there was miscommunication about his day. He was traumatized for being left alone and I was charged $80. I got an email that my puppy was spilling his water in his bowl and panting after they told me he swallowed a metal hook that was on the crate they put him in. I am pretty sure all puppies spill their water also why was a metal hook put anywhere near his crate in a room unattended. They double lock the crates so the dogs wont get out for "safety" yet they leave them alone to chew the lock and swallow part of it. They all seem fearful of everything and not experienced with puppies or how to do business. We went over everything the day before what his day would look like. His day was nothing near the plan we went over. They still had the audacity to charge me after all of that. This place is not worth the money they charge not even close. In response to this email screenshot I posted, of course he is stressed he was kept in a crate all day and he just swallowed a metal clip. I told the owner and the shift lead the day before, I don't crate my puppy, they reassured me he would not be in a crate at all. That wasn't true. They could have called me or text to tell me this. Because it was an email, I received it later. They told me because he is not fixed he was kept alone. They shamed me for not having him fixed yet, he is a young puppy! Over all terrible experience. These people are mean!

As a first time pup parent, I was stressed about where to go to get my puppy spayed, as well as the timing of the spay (Mabel is a Labrador). Vet Rehab put me at ease. When we went to establish Mabel as a patient there (she was already a patient at other highly rated vets, including in NYC). Vet Rehab was up on the very latest studies about the timing of the spay, and it was apparent from the moment I walked in that they care about their patients and that Mabel was in the best hands here. They went through her entire medical history and took their time with us. They also offer services that other vets do not, including a blue light that helps accelerate the healing process! With their (frequent - shout out to Lisa) guidance, Mabel is doing very well after her surgery. I trust Vet Rehab completely and intend to return for the rest of Mabel's care.

I came to this facility for treatment for two dogs, specifically "cold laser" treatment for…read morearthritis and bursitis. From where I live it's a five hour round-trip. Unfortunately, after the first few initial visits, the therapist was unable to keep her political views out of our (deliberately) otherwise neutral exchanges. I didn't feel I needed to express that a five hour round-trip and fees for the visit should not include my having to listen to how the current administration is "blowing up Venezuelan fishing boats" etc.. I also noted a growing tension and tense demeanor over time, and I stopped going, and simply got financing and bought my own laser. The long trip, the clinic fees, and being forced to listen to this crap on a more or less constant basis completely justified the expense. Being a retired veterinarian, it was not hard for me to get a handle on treatment protocols. However, while learning these protocols, I realized that the treatment that had been provided was only partial because contrary to recommendation, she was not treating the dorsal root ganglia, (the anatomical features by which the nerves entered the spinal column). These were never done, and apparently they are critical. Again, having worked in this profession once expressing one's ideology surpasses providing treatment to animals regardless of who brings them in becomes more important, there's no point in continuing the relationship. It demonstrates a profound lack of professionalism and self-control. Based on my experiences, I cannot rate the rehabilitation portion of this clinic by more than one star. To be absolutely clear, I never visited this facility for any other purpose or interacted with any of its veterinarians or staff except in passing , nor did I receive any other services from them. My review reflects only my experiences with the rehabilitation facility and the person administrating treatment.

I have been going to this vet clinic for months. I will never go back there again. If this was…read morethe only vet clinic in the state of Maine, I would drive to New Hamshire. I brought my dog in to have a vaccination shot. I asked if I could also speak to the vet for approximately 5 minutes because I had a question about my dogs' behavior. I was the only one in the place. I was told that no, I was just here for a vaccination and would have to make a separate appointment if I wanted to speak to the vet. When we were back in the room, I again asked if I could have 5 minutes of the vet's time for a basic question about my dog's behavior. Again, I was told that I was here for the vaccination and not an appointment with the vet. I thought that if I had an appointment at the vet clinic, I would not need a separate appointment to speak with the vet. Apparently so. Granted by this time I was pretty disgusted with the whole situation. Made a comment that "it's not rocket science" (which that comment was put in my dog's medical record). Finally, I just told them to give my dog the vaccine. Now, my dog has had multiple vaccines without even so much as a whimper or a flinch. Well today, my dog flinched. He even urinated on the table which he has never done previously when receiving a vaccine. I promptly requested that all my dog's medical records be emailed to me because I would not be returning to this clinic. The email prefaced that they had inactivated my account, and I should find a clinic that can better suit my needs. Hmmmm, my needs were to speak to a vet when I was present at the vet clinic. After relaying this experience to a coworker, she stated that she had gone there ONCE and it was a horrific experience. I was told that their business practice has drastically declined in the recent years. I am witness to that.
