He was impossible for me to handle outside around other dogs, he pulled me down, I broke my foot. I was committed to finding the right trainer. Everyone else wanted at least 3k. We were told that she would be "a great family dog." We inquired about he parents temperment and were told they would produce good family dogs. We decided not to bring her back to Doreen for training because we had heard mixed reviews from other owners who had used her. We instead went with a trainor with over 30 years experience. We did individual sessions as well as a 4 week long board and train, followed up by refresher sessions. Additinally we worked with our K9 officer who has many years experience working with and traing GSD. Our dog was more work than any other GSD we had ever raised but we continued to put in the time and effort. Keeping her challenged and exercised. Our trainer, the K9 officer and our vet had expressed concerns about our dog and the breeder, but felt if we kept putting in the work she would become more confident and secure. Unfortunately, just shy of 18 months, she started getting more skittish and anxious. She started growling and cowering, and bit 2 family members. When we sought the advice of our trainer, K9 office and vet, they all stated we need to either return her to the breeder or euthanize her. We reached out to Doreen and she stated she did not have any room and could not accept her so "just put her down.' We were shocked. We continiued to try to work with the dog and our suppprt system but finally came to the conclusion that she must be euthanized. We again reached out to Doreen and she exhibited no concern for our dog or family. She admitted that the father could be very difficult to deal with and "she doesn't push him" but she had no way to not that our dog's behavior was genetic. She made no offer to evaluate our dog's behavior and never questioned our training process. When we asked if this had happened before, or is dogs were ever returned to her she stated "2-3 dogs per year get returned". Unacceptable. Most breeders have not had 2-3 dogs returned to them in a lifetime. We then asked if she would return our fee and were told no and "fine just bring her back." From the beginning of this experience we never felt we would return her to Doreen as she created this problem. We have now euthanized our dog. We are saddened and shocked by this turn of events. An honestly sick about the fact that Doreen will continue to breed animals. Find another breeder!!!!!!!

    A Very Good K9

It's hard to know where to begin. We could not speak highly enough of A Very Good K9…read more My girlfriend and I got a Malinois puppy in July and immediately began searching for an experienced trainer. Much to our dismay, all of the trainers we contacted were not only discouraging, but had a fairly draconian view of how to "train" this breed. After meeting Austin and Haley for the first time, we cried tears of joy because we had finally found trainers that could help us and trust with our pup. We had a few training sessions with the both of them and each session we left feeling more confident and capable. Not only were they training our pup but also taught us how to be better handlers. We felt so comfortable with them that when our puppy was 5 months old, we sent her to a 4-week board and train (prior to meeting Austin and Haley, we had agreed to no B&T's). Although, we missed her presence during that time it's the best thing we could have possibly done. We knew that Austin and Haley would give our pup the same level of love and attention that we would given her at home. Before, it was difficult to do certain "regular"dog things such as taking her on a walk. She was very impulsive, latching on, lashing out, etc. typical behavior for a mouthy mal. Upon receiving her back, the groundwork had been laid out for us to have a positive and successful relationship with her. She snuggles with us, plays with us and let's us take her on walks but is still the crazy puppy we fell in love with. She has learned so much in a short amount of time and we finally feel like we can breathe. She still has a lot to learn as do we, which is why we are continuing to work with them. We would not trust anyone else as a trainer and would do this again without a second thought. Austin and Haley are very knowledgeable and it is evident in the results they produce. They are genuine people. They care a lot about the work that they do and your pups well being. They want you and your pup to succeed. We would suggest their services to anyone we know in need of dog training. You won't regret it.
