Veg, ham and tortellini soup and BLT on marble rye
    Kt B.

Stopped in today for a post hike snack. Had the Pumpkin/Maple latte and it may be the beat latte I've ever had. Not too sweet! We also got the half and half, half sandwich and a cup of soup, large portions enough for two hungry adults to share. The soup was ham, veggie and tortellini and perfectly warmed us up. The sandwich was the BLT on marble rye and was equally delicious. Can't wait to go back and try something else next visit!

Went to breakfast at the Granite Grind in Lancaster. The food was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked egg white veggie omelette, crispy bacon and homemade sourdough bread. Rick had blueberry pancakes with tons and tons of wild blueberries. Amazing food and even nicer people

They have very yummy sandwiches. Workers are very friendly. Just wish they would offer chips in place of greens.

Simple menus. Good fresh food well prepared. Easy access on Main Street. Of course, the coffee is very good too.

With that being said we had - a vanilla latte, regular coffee both of which were really good, the red flannel hash, the healthy prospect and one chocolate chip pancake.

The Italian dressing was delicious! It's more of a creamy Italian. I went with their hibiscus tea. It was lite and refreshing but I wish it wa a little sweet. The mac and cheese was a huge portion with massive chunks of the pulled pork! But... it was lacking flavor. Incase really disappointed with my choice. Want an adventure, head to the bathroom. It's like a scavenger hunt through the kitchen! Check out the merch. My husband left with a sweatshirt that had a cool leather logo stitched in. Very different so we couldn't pass up buying one.

There was natural brick everywhere and little piggies lining every corner of the place. I sat at the bar and sampled a number of their beers, I think it was eight out of 10. They do serve food as well and since it wasn't quite dinner time, I opted for the special which was butternut squash bisque. Holy cow was this delicious! Thick and rich and warming, and served with a piece of brown bread that was just perfect for dipping. I will definitely go back here again anytime I am in the area.

They offer several specialty sundaes ($3.50-$7.50) including: Roady Toasty - Dipped waffle cone, 2 scoops of smores ice cream, marshmallow topping, chocolate sprinkles A River Runs Through It - Fly fish fudge ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream and 2 gummy worms The Turtle Shell - Mint chocolate chip ice cream, caramel, whipped cream & peanuts Maple Sundae - choice of soft or hard ice cream topped with maple syrup (Fuller's Sugarhouse), whipped cream, cherry Dish of Dirt - soft serve ice cream, Oreos, hot fudge, gummy worms, chocolate sprinkles The Unicorn - Unicorn ice cream, sugar cone, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles in a dish Brownie Sundae - choice of soft or hard ice cream, 1 brownie, any sundae toppings, whipped cream, 2 cherries Death By Peanut Butter - Peanut butter pie ice cream, peanut butter cups, peanut butter sauce, whipped cream Trying to stay cool on a sunny day, I made a stop at Scoops On Main for some ice cream. I needed something small, but different than the traditional scoop ice cream. I ordered a The Unicorn Kids Size Sundae ($3.50 plus tax), which had Gifford's Unicorn ice cream, a sugar cone horn, whipped cream topped with rainbow sprinkles. This sweet colorful sundae was really good and refreshing to enjoy, especially on an 88 degree day in the North Country. Picnic table seating in front of the shop and parking along side of building and along Main Street.

Sylvia (?) was the only server/cook there when we arrived on a Monday morning at 9:30 am. There were several locals at the counter top area chatting with her as they discussed life . We were welcomed when we came in and told to sit anywhere we wanted too. Place is clean but there is nothing cozy or warm or intimate about it. the space does not lend itself to that at all. The menu includes breakfast and lunch options but we weren't quite sure what we were in the mood for. I asked about the home fries and she said they were deep fried so I decided no. After debating, we ended up ordering the 2 slice French toast for me and 3 slice for BF. I opted for sausage links and we both wanted real maple syrup which was $1.69 per small bottle. I wanted a glass of water but was told it might not be safe given something, so got bottled water with no ice . BF got coffee that was just ok. We didn't have to wait long for the food. French toast was mediocre - a bit dry - needed more soak time in egg. Butter was cold so did not melt on bread. Maple syrup was cold as well , making the French toast cold overall. Too bad. The sausage links were the brown and serve sausages you get frozen and were over cooked. See photo - just not very good. I hope she improves her cooking skills as there are not many breakfast/lunch spots in Lancaster open on Mondays. However with a tab of $22.00 I would not return unless reviews become glowing. I wish her well.
