There were 2 younger girls and a man in there. All friendly and chatted with me and explained what each of the things were that they had left. I got a Raspberry Scone, Cinnamon Roll, and Lemon Bar, I just couldn't make up my mind so I had to get them all. The cinnamon roll was at least 5-6" wide and just absolutely to die for. The brown sugar pecan glaze cooked through the layers and rolled in was amazing and I ended up eating the entire thing in one sitting. I didn't care if it was going to make me sick or not. Even at room temperature it was that good, I can't imagine warmed up for a few seconds how much different it would be. The lemon bar was perfectly tart and not sour at all and smooth and creamy and again, all around amazing. The flavor of the scone was great, a little harder than I would have liked it to be, but it tasted great, and I'm sure with some coffee it would have been that much better when softened slightly. Nevertheless everything I got was amazing and wish it wasn't 700+ miles from home.

There are many places like this but it was comforting and fit for the area. I proceeded to order a simple coffee and a breakfast sandwich and then got back on my way. When I finally found time in the morning schedule to pull over and enjoy what I purchased I was taken back. Now I'm 40+ years old and not once have I found a croissant so good,...EVER! The bagels were perfectly crisp on the outside and chewy on the outside. Absolutely no notes, the perfect NY style bagel. The options for the side were potato salad, macaroni salad, chips, or a tossed salad. I went for the salad and it was actually quite nice - it had a vinegar based dressing on it and plenty of vegetables. I definitely will be back, this place was a hidden gem.

The two women manning the coffee shop were exceedingly friendly, and remembered us the next day, asking us how our XC skiing went. I ordered a plain croissant and fresh fruit. While this probably cost my $6, the croissant was one of the better I've had in years with a lightly crispy exterior and soft, chewy interior. The fresh fruit was, well, very fresh and tasted great. Their coffee is quite good, as well. Jamie ordered a breakfast sandwich, promptly devoured, of course. My one complaint is that they're only open til 11AM-- even on weekends! I get it, most people are up and careening down the mountain well before then, but we late-risers need our coffee fix! I hope in future visits, either a) we're able to wake up and get down there earlier, or b) they extend their business hours at least til 1PM.
