There are some good challenges with water, sand, and fescue but nothing too wild or unfair. As it's fall, many leaves were off the trees but they were working hard throughout the day to get them off the playing areas. The front nine is more wooded and the back much more open. Green were in good condition (except for the leaves). Pretty course. Staff was nice. Had a dog at the turn which (I think) was from a local meat market and it was so good. Great stop.

This creates a very long backlog waiting to tee off. Legit had 5 groups some solos some 4 all trying to tee off at the same time and people arguing that their tee time was scheduled, while others were trying to start their next 9.... What a mess!

Expanding conference space that is modern, clean, and functional is a no-brainer, and I'm so glad that St Cloud is keeping up with the times and keeping up with the growth. Even though I'd prefer to have meetings in the Cities, the clients my business serves are statewide, so outer Metro hubs like St Cloud, Duluth and Rochester are often utilized by the associations who put on the conferences. Putting up with the freezing cold in the exhibit hall a few years back while they were building the expansion. So now about that parking lot. In the past, there were probably 20 parking spots (Okay, that may be a bit extreme. There were probably 30.) that were shared with the Civic Center and surrounding businesses. You'd have to park underneath the Civic Center in a cold, old, scary parking structure. The nightmare actually came when all the trade show vendors packed up their booths and we had to wait in line to cram ourselves, booth and SWAG into one elevator to get to our cars. Not any more! I'd much rather park outside all day for $6.00 and just stroll out of the Civic Center and walk a short distance to my car. It's a piece of cake now! There's a 'skyway' that connects the Civic Center to Le St-Germain Suite Hotel (Really? St Cloud is a university town. Who are they kidding?), and many local businesses are within walking distance. We were in St. Cloud for a family wedding. The bride and groom booked a block of rooms at this…read morehotel... And then stayed at the Marriott themselves, with their immediate family... If this was a review of just the staff, it would be five stars. Everyone from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the waitstaff in the restaurant were exceptionally friendly and did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome. We got a suite, which was about the size of an efficiency apartment. Microwave, large fridge and sink in the kitchenette. The bathroom was on the smaller side, and there was no bathtub only a shower stall! That was really too bad, because we had our boys with us and I was hoping to give them a bath before the wedding. There is another vanity with a sink in the bedroom though, which was nice for doing hair and make-up while The Man was taking a shower. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were clean, and they give you tons of pillows. The suite also has a pullout couch, which we did not use, and reclining armchair which we did. There was enough room for our double stroller, our Pack'n'Play, 2 suitcases, diaper bag, and all our other paraphernalia. The room was adequate, if a little dated. The surfaces were clean- but like another review said- it seemed as if the whole room hadn't been deep cleaned in a while. They allow smoking and pets in certain rooms, but you can faintly smell those odors in all of the rooms. And chlorine. So much chlorine smell! Lots of vending machines with lots of choices and a restaurant on site. Also a Walmart and tons of other stores and restaurants within walking distance. Four different pools and a hot tub. Volleyball court, basketball courts, an arcade and a few table games for families/kiddos. Our room was on the wall that faced the volleyball and basketball courts and it was really loud! Fortunately, the bedroom of the suite had another door that we could close and that really helped muffle the sound. So all in all I gave it three stars. The staff was great, and there were lots of things for families to do there, but for almost $200 a night for our suite, I would have liked a little more quiet, a spotless room, and a bathtub.

The stay and their facilities were fine and as…read moreexpected. 10 days after my stay I got an email saying that I had stayed for 8 nights and it attached my receipt. I called the hotel and talked to a manager and she refunded my 7 extra nights but was not able to explain why the extra charges occurred. I didn't think much of it and was just happy my card got refunded. 2 weeks later I had $844 charged to my credit card and called again to inquire about it. The front desk person couldn't look into it but said the manager Gina would look into it for me and return my call. She never returned my calls. I called back 2 days later and the same front desk person answered and remembered me and said Gina would be in at 3pm and also gave me her email address. I asked the front desk person to have Gina call me back when she came to work for the day. I also composed an email to her detailing my issues with my confirmation number and asking her for a call back. My email and calls were never returned. I called back 2 days later and a different guy said he could look into it and said he saw a lot of strange charges but didn't understand them. He said he would get with his manager and call me back later that night. He never called back. I called back again and he said it would have to wait for Gina to call me back. I asked for a copy of the charges to emailed to me and he said he would. He never did. I called today to talk to the GM Brad, the front desk person said he was in but not in his office and offered to send me to his voicemail. I was then transferred to his voicemail and it was full and not able to accept new voicemails. I tried calling the front desk back, but the phone rang for 2 minutes and then hung up on me, I tried again and the same thing happened. I waited 10 minutes and tried calling again, but it still rang for 2 minutes and then hung up on me. At this time the issue is still unresolved.
