If you are in town or live in Slidell and want to check out a movie, this is the best option. There isn't another theatre in Slidell. The good thing is that it's an updated theatre and they have a good rewards program. Recently they have gone cashless so keep that in mind. You purchase tickets inside the theatre doors at a kiosk station. They closed the walk up booth outside. They also have a small arcade inside. We've been twice this week and really like the theater. I hadn't sat in the back row before, but my buddy asked if we could, so we gave it a shot. I feel kinda silly for not doing it earlier! There is a lot of room in the back row of both theaters (13 and 15) and we were able to get stretched out and comfy really easily. The cupholders were a nice touch, although I got a little too comfy in that recliner at one point and started to nod off! The drinks were tasty, the popcorn was hot and fresh, and on the second night we tried the pepperoni and sausage pizza - wow, what a treat! I really enjoyed it while watching Brave the Dark (great movie, I highly recommend this one, too). Devon was a super awesome man behind the counter, grabbing us drinks, doing refills, helping layer the butter and whipping up some wonderful pizza - thanks, dude, you rock! read more

After the The Grand upgraded their seats to luxury recliners, it was announced Santikos Entertainment acquired it. Since then they've made some major changes. I believe all the showrooms have luxury recliners and the IMAX with heated luxury recliners. Fresh paint job on the building, AC seems to run very well recommend bringing a blanket. There were also some changes to the pricing and some previous deals and some new deals. Mondays are now First Responders and Military Mondays with $5 tickets and $5 sodas and $5 popcorn. Tuesdays are super with $6 tickets. They kept a rewards program just different earnings and rewards. Concession hasn't change much almost the same variety of items. read more

Here is how I feel about this theater as an old worker. I used to work here from 2024 - 2025 as I was in high school at the time. Whenever I first started working here, I felt honestly normal and happy to get a job. I served the customers well and to my full ability and was giving everyone my best attitude. Heres what broke me. My employer for some weird reason had me on a "weekend" based schedule, which was fine because I was in school. Whenever school got out I was STILL on a weekend based schedule, getting paid $8.75, my shifts were never scheduled really so I would work my ass off for two days just to get paid only $158 - tax%. That was slavery. I was also scheduled a lot to work on days my employer knew I could not make it to, and whenever I confronted them, they would just say "No problem" and rid me of that shift, which now would take money out of my pocket. The customers. I get it. Not everyone is having fun, not everyone is having a good day, but most people forget that fast food workers, or people working in the foodie-entertainment industries, are generally not working there because they want to. That was just a job I could do to say I had a little bit of money to my name, but even so we do not want to be there as well. I was constantly bombarded by entitlement every day, customers with their gloomy faces and sluggish attitudes, the eyes they wore was those of a man with no emotions looking clearly through you as if they knew you had a bad day and smiled because they wanted to make it worse. I genuinely was met with unexpected emotions from customers just because of their inability to simply read signs, or accept when they were wrong in some cases. It was overwhelming being a babysitter to grown adults trying to take baby steps and walk them through the menu and what they wanted to order. Whenever they started to feel just an ounce of aggregation, I had to reassure them and tell them it's okay, apologize, and put the sipping bottle into their mouths. Our cleanliness. At Santikos, Slidell Location, I've seen it first handed. Yes the managers and the main company has been trying to do something about it but the workers do not listen. The bathrooms are filthy. There is always a customer who walks in and makes a god forsaken mess all over the place, but it doesn't help that US workers did not want to clean it, and not even that; WE had NO SUCH thing to CLEAN the bathrooms with. All of our equipment was meant for our concessions, or theatres, we had no real bathroom equipment. Also the theatres are typically a mess because some employees half assed it. Our Workers, I genuinely had problems with some of my co worker. I am not going to act like an angel or saint or anything like that, but at the end of the day, it is a JOB you've signed up to do. Whenever someone requested a pizza to be made, I could sense the attitude coming from my coworkers, I could sense the air shift, I could sense the anger. I felt that way too but theres no need to promote that to the buyer. It is a job at the end of the day, I do not know why getting asked to make a pizza was such a BIG deal to people but it was. Also there was blatant favoritism. There is a bar in the theater that I an always told to rema far from. My colleague was able to go there and EVEN learn how to use the equipment with NO BAR LICENSE. Such nonsense. So when you ask one of the workers, "Can I get the whole menu" , a simple thank you or any small gesture would be appreciated. I went on Christmas Day to see the AMAZING Color Purple!!! It was so good. The theater however...dirty concessions counters, trash everywhere, nasty restroom and the icing on the cake...they had to pause the movie due to a seat conflict that could have been resolved MUCH quicker than it was. The movie started flicking during long legs, we figured it was part of the movie until we realized it was happening the entire time, even during the credits. And during the dead pool 3 movie the audio cut out for like 5-10 minutes ruining one of the most important parts where they sacrifice themselves! Wow! I'm so impressed with the new recliner chairs. They are very comfy!! I had so much room for my purse without it falling to the floor. The arm rest are large enough to put ya candy, nachos or pizza! And the remote with different positions, I'm in heaven!! Now, for the not so good stuff. The price for popcorn and an icy is wildly expensive equaling more than the actual movie for just two people not even getting two adult orders. This is Slidell's local theatre. It's located near restaurants by Hwy 12 but also isn't too far away from Gause Blvd if you're coming from that side. Recently they added the Daq Shack and upgraded some of their arcade games which makes the experience better especially if you're early for your movie. If you think you'll visit often, I would recommend signing up for their Rewards program. It'll pay for itself in 2 visits and allows you to have automatic upgraded on all drink and popcorn purchases. I love going to the movies and this theater is pretty great. The seats are really comfortable and are stadium style so the screen is never blocked by someone's head. The acoustics are great and the employees have always been friendly and efficient. I love that they show really popular movies on two (sometimes even three) different screens. I have never been told they were sold out and I'm sure it's for this reason. If you like to go to the movies frequently, I think getting a Reel Rewards card is completely worth it. It's $10 a year and you get a free small popcorn and drink when you sign up. Additionally, you'll receive a free birthday bonus and free size upgrades on popcorn and drinks on all future visits. Of course, I still sneak candy in and never buy it here, but that's kind of difficult to do with popcorn and drinks, so if you like eating popcorn at the movies get the card! read more

Tucked behind a forest, the Grand is the Slidell area's largest cinema. Although it may seem like the theater is located in the middle of nowhere, the mall and it's neighboring shopping centers are all located within a couple of miles from each other. Quite literally, the Grand lives up to it's name. The theater itself is quite large, closer to what you'd expect to see in a major city. Because of it's size, the theater is never too crowded, you can always find a nice seat to sit in. The theater is also very clean and well kept, one of the cleanest theaters I've ever been too. Ticket prices are pretty reasonable, about average for a large cinema. Concession prices are very high and moviegoers can expect to pay more on drinks and snacks than anything else in the theater, including their tickets. On the flip side, the concessions are pretty decent in comparison to other theaters. Service at the ticket and concession desks are pretty expedient. The workers are also a lot friendlier than what you'd normally expect in movie theater. The viewing experience here is great, one of the best you'd find at a conventional theater. The screens are large, the seats are comfortable, and the speakers will knock your socks off. Overall, this is a great movie theater.. especially when consider the area. The only real downside is that it's hidden behind a bunch of trees, which makes it easy to miss. I would definitely recommend over other nearby cinemas. read more

I would love to give this theater 4 stars, but the snack prices are outrageous! I can't take my kids to the movies without spending $50! I know, I know, all theaters are expensive. And I would give them all 3 starts. This theater offers you a rewards card or something, but I have yet to see where it gives me any deals. I do like that on Tuesdays it is half price all day for regular movies. Kind of sucks there is not discount of 3D or IMax movies.... As for the way it looks and feels.... It is clean, It sometimes has a funny smell, but not always. It feels comfortable. I don't have to worry about walking out with ice sickles hanging off of me. The chars are very comfy. This theatre sucks. They said they were playing purge forever at 9:55. Me and my friend drove 1 HOUR to see this movie and when we showed up they refused to serve us. We were completely ignored. What a great family visit to see Toy Story 4! Courteous staff greeted us. Nice games area and great selection of food and drinks. Very clean, spotless actually. A special Thanks to Rion who could see that our 5 year old son was having a hard time, as he gets scared of how loud movies can be and didn't want to go in. He noticed and offered us special headphones so that my son could control the volume. This changed out whole experience and we all loved the movie. This small gesture meant alot to us. Pros - Always clean, friendly employees, good sound quality and comfy seats. Cons - Pretty steep on the prices so we only get to go every once in awhile. All in all it's what you would expect from a large theater. Really Nice Theater - WAY Too COLD I went to see an IMAX movie and looked forward to it. This was my first visit to The Grand 16. It was 43 degrees outside; it must have been 42 degrees in the movie! Thankfully I had a good heavy jacket, so with hands in pockets it wasn't too bad but even with heavy bluejeans on, my legs and feet were really cold. I'll drive the extra miles to Covington and try to find a theater where I can watch a movie in comfort. Good theatre. Like every theatre the food is a little pricy, but they have a card you can buy that gets money added to it every time you buy a movie. You can then use this extra money to buy snacks or movies. The theatre has many room which means lost of movies. The rooms are split into 2 hallways on each side of the theatre with each having a bathroom at the end. read more
