What was once the one parade I could take my kids to has become an awful mess…read more Prior to this year I would always watch the parade at the very beginning. That meant easy parking, a quick viewing experience and an easy exit post parade. This year the geniuses in. Mandeville decided that area was a "no parade zone" due to construction. That meant I was forced to find a new spot or deal with the wrath of my children. You see, I promised them I would take them to a parade, and you should never make promises to kids that you don't intend to keep. So anyway, I studied the route and picked a spot. The spot I picked (classified) seemed to offer all that my old spot did, but in soon learned it was nothing like it. First off, I encountered some ne'er do wells smoking marijuana in the parking area. Thanks degenerates for exposing me to your bad habits. Second, the route in this area is not lined with barricades. It's a lot easier to prevent float crushings if the route is barricaded. Also in this area were an enormous amount of parked vehicles along the side of the road. Apparently the only spot without illegally parked cars was my original spot and that wasn't an option. These car people we parked literally on the route in the road. Should one of them decided he wanted to mow down the crowd nothing would have stopped him. The parade itself was all out of sync. The gap between floats was massive despite being somewhat close to the start of the route. This all women's crew was pretty good about throwing to the kids which was the one plus, but waiting so long between floats made my kids antsy. It was almost as if there was no organization to the parade whatsoever. The final nail in the coffin was the post parade experience. Despite the parade being completely past our location, traffic was at a standstill. For some reason the police had the only avenues of exit completely blocked. Making matters worse was that when one additional route opened, they weren't doing anything to facilitate traffic moving smoothly. It's almost as if this was the northshore's first ever Mardi Gras parade and no one knew what to do. As parades go, this was not a good experience. My kids did enjoy catching stuff, but if they don't improve the entire operation, I doubt I'll be back.

I love this Parade...I'm probably biased though. This was the S/O's and my first parade together…read more So, I might be alittle too generous with this review! I lived a couple of blocks away from the route where it turned off of Monroe onto 190 and it was a convenient place to watch. It's a small, Nice family themed parade where most people are well behaved and friendly. No real fighting over beads and throws. This year was the same, a fun local parade with plenty of throws and some good High school bands playing.

I got to attend this event thanks to the magic of Yelp!…read more We had the VIP passes, so we got to go early, start sampling food and drinks and score a seat at the VIP table. This event was a basic tasting event: they give you a glass and you and go get small fills at different tables throughout the evening. I am a beer drinker, so I was happy to be able to sample a lot of different local beers. They had some more "known" brews like Stella Artois, but I stuck to the local stuff. The food was pretty good, I just wished there had been more of it! It would have been nice to sample a lot of different dishes from different places, but this was for a good cause and I had to remind myself that it wasn't a "pairing", so I was happy with what I had. Groovy 7 was the cover band and they were fantastic. I had a lot of fun posing for pictures in the photo booth and everyone at all of the tables were really nice. I didn't participate in the silent auction, but they had some really nice things that you could bid on.

I was fortunate to score some tickets to this event through Yelp. I'm told they were valued at…read more$100/each, and I had two. The lady and I headed out for what we hoped was a fun date night. This event was put together as a fund raiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Product: A selection of foods from around the Northshore, including stuff from Trey Yuen, pulled pork, a few different rice dishes, and the star of the night--a homemade cuban sandwich. Most of the eats were rather pedestrian in quality, though. Drinks were provided by Champagne Distribution and Aquistapace Grocery. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Adam Aquistapace himself, a rather congenial person. The drink selections were excellent. All the beers and wine were excellent. There was also a silent auction. There were a few items I had interest in but didn't bid on in the end, like a new Keurig. 4 stars Service: Go up to the counter and ask for what you want. It was volunteers principally. They did okay. I don't think bussing of tables and tossing of trash was timely There was a good live cover band as well. 3 stars Facilites: The Castine Center in Fountainbleu State Park. I've been in here for a number of different events, but this was the first time for a more formal one. It's a little out the way, but not bad. I like the place well enough. It's a decent venue. Area was clean outside, and there is a private parking lot. The lobby was clean and brightly lit. Inside the venue, as noted, started to get a bit messy as more people showed up. 3 stars Overall: I'm very appreciative of having the chance to go to this event. I particularly enjoyed the beer, wine, and a few of the food items. The band was good. I think the organizers could make some improvements based upon my earlier commentary. Unfortunately, I do not think it was worth the $100 quoted value. I understand it is for a good cause, but I think the food options need to be stepped up a little. 3 stars

I am so grateful to have found Denise. I first sought her assistance with a 'The Answer You Seek'…read morereading to locate a lost item. I did a Horary reading/chart, and with her guidance, I recovered it within 24 hours! I later consulted her regarding an item that was lost over a year ago. She was upfront and honest about the likelihood of recovery, and I found her insights to be amazingly accurate. Everything she shared truly resonated with me, and I look forward to working with her again.

I actually found myself wishing I had booked with her sooner! That session was affirming, and it gave me some great insights and clarity about what I was navigating at the time and where I was headed. I really appreciate Denise's warmth, passion, and presence. In 2024, I began her Quarterly Compass Series, and it's been one of the best decisions I've made. I rave about it to my friends, or sometimes it comes up casually when I'm talking to others. As casually as you'd say, my doctor, my mechanic, and so on, lol. As a high-achieving woman balancing a creative career, professional milestones, and significant life shifts, I realized I needed regular guidance that could support timing and my vision. Each quarterly session feels grounding, expansive, and practical. Denise is incredibly knowledgeable about astrology and delivers information in a way that's both accessible and relevant to my life. I always leave our sessions with clear, actionable guidance, which is helpful given the type of person I am. I especially love that she highlights significant or auspicious dates that I can plan around or keep in mind. One of the most powerful outcomes of our work has been the clarity I've gained around timing--when to act, when to rest, and how to trust the unfolding of my path. With her support, I've made major decisions in my creative work and career with more confidence, alignment, and ease. I plan to renew this series with her each year. It helps me show up in the world more intentionally and strategically. If you're a high-achiever seeking more clarity, alignment, and a deeper relationship with yourself, divine timing, and your purpose, I highly recommend working with Denise.
