I had the lavender drink (sorry, forgot the name) which contains Australian lavender liquor and my friend had the mojito, and some champagne afterwards. Good drinks and there were plenty of space where you can just lounge around, especially because we were the only ones there at 3pm ;) We just sat around the "lawn" carpeted area and helped ourselves.

The overall ambience is perfect for the beginning of an evening or a low key event away from the main strip but for those still in the mood for a cosmopolitan vibe. My husband and I spent time here during our honeymoon as we were staying at QR and the staff were remarkable, it was just after the re opening, everyone really went above and beyond to make our time special.

That meant that the upstairs area was basically closed so we were all relegated to the sports bar that happened to be located in the depths of this place. Hey, it wasn't too bad, particularly since the staff were quite friendly, though when it comes to beer there really wasn't a huge choice.

For the lunch specials I have tried the Chicken Breast & Grilled Fish - both include salad, chips, and a beverage of your choice which can be a beer or glass of wine. I prefer the Grilled Fish out of the two as the Chicken Breast was rather standard and nothing special. I actually enjoyed the atmosphere more than I thought I would on the night that I came here as part of a backpackers big night out. It's easy to see that people are having fun and enjoying themselves here...also the drinks are reasonably priced compared to most bars and clubs that I've been to around here.

I've been inside this entirely mediocre, cliche, redundant club before. There's absolutely nothing special or worthy of seeing here. It's a rarity to find a pub or bar in the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise where the staff actually enjoy working there. It definitely makes a difference to the venue's vibe! The bar staff also enjoy a good chat and a bit of banter across the bar and this is one of the few Irish pubs in Surfers that actually employees Irish people! Not only adding to the atmosphere, but it means there are staff who can actually pour a good pint of Guinness! There is live music most nights of the week from 9pm, with a band on every Friday and Saturday night. True to their roots there is also traditional Irish entertainment there every Sunday afternoon. In terms of food it has a great range of pub style food at great prices. I've found the food to always be amazing, even the specials (usually $10-15) are spot on! You definitely can't go past the $10 steaks that they do for lunch and dinner! One of the main things that I LOVE about the food here is that they stick to what they're good at; good quality pub-style food at a reasonable price! This is a great pub that caters for everyone, from families, to older couples and young 20-somethings looking for a good night out, there is something for everyone in Fiddlers. This is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of the owners and management! See you there!

The odd thing about the place is that after I leave I completely forget about it so when I return, I see it and think - here is a nice bar to have a drink. Well, I doubt I'm going to forget about it this time, since I am writing a review, and having been to many and varied places across the world, I must say that as a bar this place is fairly average. Okay, I have only been here in the middle of the day, so I really can't say what happens at night (they have a night-club apparently). However, I suspect if I ever find myself down here again, I will probably end up having another beer here.
