Very convenient for me and always treated well. I don't eat the concessions because of price, but the theatre is normally clean and well presented. Parking is very convenient and with all the exit doors, you can get to your car quite easily without having to go back to the lobby. I recommend. read more

This theatre is great while watching the movie. However, the video game area needs maintenance and management. My daughters love playing air hockey there, but there's usually only one game working, of the two there. And we have had problems with the photo booth. With all the crazy features of the new top of the line movie theaters, this was a relaxing change of pace. It's a movie, not a day at Disneyland. The proximity to our neighborhood was a deciding factor to come as we didn't want to waste time driving south to see a flick. Adult ticket was just under $11. They offer typical movie snacks, and have a decent selection of adult beverages including beer/wine. They do have reclining leather seats that were very comfortable. The theater was in great shape, restrooms were clean. The outside of the building could use a sign that says "movie theater" or something. Instead it says "reclining leather seats" or something like that which initially lead me to believe it was a furniture store!! The staff were very friendly. They do have rooms for parties, and an arcade room for the kids. Will be back for sure. If you live in Conroe, support this place so it doesn't go away! It's all good except on the website and when you call, opening time is noon for ticket booth. Not the case, opens at 12:30. Saw Star Wars Rogue One. Loved the movie. Our problem was the very slow concession service. The worst part was paying over $7.50 for a bag of popcorn that was 25% full of crumbs. We brought it to the attention of the manager, who smirked and said "but you ate all of it, didn't you?" Yes, we did, the edible pieces. I dumped the 2 inches of crumbs in the trash can. So needless to say, not very happy with their customer service. Will go to another theater from now on. Recommend that everyone else go elsewhere too. read more

I am a frequent visitor to this theatre and have never had a problem. The new renovations are very nice and I love the new seating!

I took my granddaughter to the movies here right after Christmas. Everyone was very friendly and the movie seats were comfortable. The only complaints I had was the lines at the concession stand and the odd smell. 1. There needs to be a temp pole with nylon rope between the lines like they have at other businesses. It was hard to tell which line people were in and it was a free for all. 2. They should invest in Febreze and really spray the place. read more

Of all of the movie theaters I have been to in the North Houston area, The Grand really hit the low end of the spectrum. We came here just a day or so after Christmas and this was my first trip to The Grand. I wasn't sure what to expect but I wasn't impressed. The lines to buy tickets were rather long. This might have been helped if there had been more than one person working (could be holiday related). The concession lines were nearly out the door. The manager was helping but it would have been a bigger help if he had opened an additional register. The lobby wasn't all that clean. The theater itself was clean and comfortable. The movie started on time and I have no major complaint about that. I wouldn't choose to come back here with other theaters like Tinseltown, Market Street and Santikos in Tomball are so much nicer. read more

The last few visits have been disappointing. Seems like they're having a hard time keeping the place staffed which results in ridiculous lines. Today was the worst yet: ticket line out into the street with the manager behind the only window open to sell. Popcorn lines were 12-15 orders deep. And the kicker was the speaker was blown in the theatre (#8) making Mary Poppins, a musical, difficult to endure at times. Might be time to start taking a longer drive to ensure a quality experience. read more

Visited this theatre last night to see Pride Prejudice and Zombies. Most movie theatres run about the same these days, but this a is pretty big theatre that's out of the way for most people, so it's always empty, which means no fight for parking or seats! I will say though, Friday night this place is CRAWLING with highschoolers. Their popcorn was good, and I think all over their snacks, tickets, etc were just a few dollars cheaper than the Cinemark locations. It's clean, the staff was friendly. I'll be back! read more

We are new to Conroe and were so excited to find the theater when we moved there. However, after visiting this theater about 4 or 5 times over the past year or so,we quickly lost the enthusiasm. Each time I expected to see the new recliners that they've been promising for the past 2-3 years - still no recliners and no one knows when. We had to walk out of 2 movies because the equipment was broken and could not be fixed in time for the movie to start. The bathrooms are horrible and the attention to cleanliness and detail at the snack bars and throughout the theater is non-existent. There isn't enough staff to keep up with the cleaning and the ones there don't seem to be trained very well. Even though this theater is right near my house, we will drive the extra miles for a good experience. I would give the place a 1.5 out of 5 stars. Not worth my time or money! read more

The Grand is the place to go in Conroe for 3D movies and movies with high visual demand. Pretty much State of the Art equipment for this area. It is pricier than than the Star (across 45 and south a couple exits) and is more of a typical cineplex operation (overpriced popcorn, drinks and candy). Unless you pick the kids combo (small drink, small popcorn, and some sort of gummy candy) it will cost you $7-10 minimum for a drink and a snack. This is fine place, but were it me, I would come here for 3D movies and other high visual production movies, and go across 45 to the Star for other movies. read more

I used to come here often, but the last 3 times it felt like all the Houston theaters, a daycare teens dropped off going from one movie to the next talking, phones out, get the manager and NOTHING gets done. It starts with YOU will be asked to leave that never happens. The prices are always going up not so much the tickets but the candy, popcorn and drinks. Two talkative women should be BANNED from The Grand in Conroe, Texas During the movie AMERICA, WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT HER, two annoying women spoke loudly the entire time. That is, about every 30 seconds. It was so annoying and distracting to paying audience members, one patron told them, SHHHH!!!! NO ONE CAN HEAR THE MOVIE. But for the movie theatre, found it pleasant and clean. As usual, can count on this facility to be up to standards. Now if they can only curtail a couple of old talkative women, who don't know RIGHT from WRONG. read more

I don't even want to give this establishment 1 star. Concessions line took 15 minutes for 1 person and the popcorn was stale. Then the theatre had not been picked up from previous showings and you had to move other people's garbage in order to sit. Went tonight to see Dunkirk. 30 minutes into the movies enters a dozen "Tweens" laughing, talking, phones going and proceed to play musical chairs in the front section for the next 25 minutes. Management was called and they were asked to leave. A few minutes later they reenter from the opposite side and they continue to disrupt the movie. Management was called again and they left. A few still returned and continued to enter and exit every few minutes. Won't be back....ever!! Take your money and head south to any other theater but this one. read more

Went to the movie this afternoon. I am a senior lady with some mobility issues but I get around. I had my purse, my nacho snack and my walking cane as I went into the theater and made it to my end seat, put my nachos on the seat next to me till I could get seated, and as I sat down the side seat flew up and there went the nachos all over the back of the seat and on the floor. Well, I sat there a minute and decided I probably shouldn't have ordered them anyway! Then a young man from another row below me kindly came up to me with napkins, said he'd clean up the mess and go out and see about getting me another snack....I could not believe the kindness and attentiveness of this young man. I made the comment that "his mother sure raised him right" and lo and behold she was sitting down next to him, heard me, and thanked me for saying that. I was bowled over by his kindness and more so about him even noticing what had happened. There were only about 7 or 8 people in that entire movie, and I still don't know how he even paid attention to what had happened to me! A few minutes later he came back to his seat and then the theater manager brought me a new dish of nachos free! So my thanks are to 1) the theater manager for doing a kind thing, and to 2) a young man named "Eric" who did a particularly kind thing for a stranger. Restored my faith in our younger generation - The theater is clean, large, roomy, has lots of movies showing - the snacks are priced high, but going rate for theaters. Only one negative comment I can make is that the "risers" between the steps in each theater seem to be higher than others I go to, thus causing difficult to climb and I have seen several almost falls, myself having fallen twice myself. This theater used to be nice, but the last few times my family and I have been we have been very disappointed with the quality of the theater. The theater has always had air conditioning issues as far as I can remember, but on two occasions last summer the A/C was completely out and they didn't close the theater. We sweated through the whole movie and when it was over we asked to speak to a manager and the manager said she knew it was out and apologized. They should have closed it. It was hot, muggy and smelly. The second time it happened we didn't stay and requested a refund. When we went to see Star Wars the speakers weren't working correctly and it completely ruined the movie. It was so bad that we actually went and saw it again at another theater a second time. When I mentioned it to the manager she just shrugged and said "it does that". Clearly the management/ownership is not keeping up with this place. I will not be back until they upgrade these things. read more

Went for the first time to this theatre for a matinee and was unimpressed. The only reason we decided to go was that we had a Fandango gift card and this was the nearest movie theatre where we could use it. Not that buying tickets online in advance matters anyway because you can't reserve seats. Granted, it wasn't very hard to get seats as our movie played to a mostly empty theatre. We arrived around 12 pm (on a Sunday) and entered the theatre through the open door only be told that we needed to leave and couldn't come back in the building until 12:30 because a church had the place reserved until then. Why they couldn't just let us hang out in the arcade I don't know. There are no other businesses or shops or restaurants around this, so there was no where to go. So we proceeded to sit in the car for 30 minutes. We watched as people started to line up outside and they made everyone wait until exactly 12:30 to go in. We had a 12:55 movie time and you know people will show up early before their movie so why not let them hang out inside the lobby or arcade? Especially when there is literally nothing around this theatre. The tickets and concessions are really overpriced (starting at $6.50 for a small popcorn) you might was well go to a brand new Cinemark with luxury seating where you can reserve seats and that doesn't have a perpetual musty smell for the high prices. read more

This theater is our only option in the area, unless you want to drive to the woodlands. Which, it doesn't get much better there as far as true options go. The grand is dirty and has terribly rude staff overall. There aren't many screens either. I once saw a movie while seated behind a girl who brought her kitten. I've been in many movies where unruly disrespectful teenagers theater hopped and were disruptive the whole way through. Staff at the concession stands are slow and have often been so rude. They'll treat customers like they've just inconvenienced them by having them do their job. Once a girl was so rude to the mother in front of me that I chose to not purchase anything and was asked by my fiancé to walk away and not say a word to her. These are mainly teenagers, but it's still their job. I guess at the end of the day most of this doesn't matter, it would just be nice if this wasn't our only option for going to the movies. read more

LOve the new reel rewards, this theater has always been my go to. However I do not understand the fact that the bathrooms are all touch free. (toilets, soap, sink, hand drying). But when you go to exit the bathroom you have to pull on the door. NOw i know i washed my hands but the 10 people ahead of me probably did not. close to home - 2 stars because it is generally a good experience during school hours - other than that, about half the time we go, there is a pack of unattended kids/teens that ruin the movie for everyone else (talking/laughing/flashing lights/running in and out/jumping over seat backs) - the staff just doesn't care.
