The lobster bisque was not as creamy as I would of liked but still had a good flavor.

You were not put on this earth to be aware of things but not partake. There are unique and genuine…read moreexperiences, and maybe they're not your typical thing, or come off as intimidating, maybe even outright terrifying? Well.. as Rick Sanchez put it: "To live is to risk it all. Otherwise, you're just an inert chunk of randomly assembled molecules drifting wherever the universe blows you." So if you're looking at a Yelp review for Tresor, going to a techno club is definitely out of your wheelhouse. Go. Dress in all black. No logos. No watch. No bags. Be minimal. Cover charge was 22 euros. Don't show up until after midnight at minimum. Eat a Doner Kebab a block away before you walk in. They never asked for an ID. They're going to put a sticker over the camera of your phone for their strict "no picture" policy, which is incredibly refreshing because living in the moment is the peak experience. It's a very relaxed scene and all about the music. In fact, you probably won't even be able to understand a single person the entire time there. Also, in the rooms, they keep the decibels under 100 to save your eardrums - I know 100 is a lot, but i bet other clubs keep it significantly louder. The day after, I had no residual ringing in my ears, if that helps. The drinks are really affordable. Shots were 3 euros each. Stay for an hour. Stay all night. Stay the whole weekend. The party goes until Monday, supposedly. It reminded me of raves in the 90s, no phones, and chill music-oriented. I'm happy I went. It was incredibly worth it.

Music in the basement was phenomenal hard core techno (Kameliia was my favorite) while upstairs at the Oku for Treaor is not my style, but was packed with a younger crowd. Drink priced low, staff super nice. I'm sure the popularity attracts a lot of tourists, but it's still very real.

Jacob's Gist: Matrix seems like the "tourist trap" club of Berlin…read more ================= Birthday weekend. Studying abroad. Visiting Berlin... it's pretty clear we were looking for a great club to spend the night. After asking around, we settled on Matrix. When you're in the club capitol of the world, don't make the same mistake we did and go to Matrix. arrived around 12:30AM and expected there to be some resemblance of a line to get in (after all, it was Friday night in Berlin). The first red flag about Matrix: there was absolutely no line at all. The only requirement to get in seemed to be that you're at least 18 (and that one even seemed a little iffy with some of the people there). Once we got in, we explored the dance floors. The main floor was huge and filled with 18-24 year olds, mainly male. I'll admit I had a good time dancing, but that wasn't really where the problem was. The drinks were expensive and the shots were served in medicine cups. In fact, I wouldn't even call them shots. With so many world class clubs in Berlin to go to, Matrix seems like the "easy choice". There's no worrying about getting in, it's huge, and when you look up clubs in Berlin it's always the first to come up. Take my advice though: it's not worth it. Check out other clubs in the city (I recommend Soda) and you'll get a much more true to Berlin experience.

This place was dope! It had like 4 or 5 different rooms which each played different music. Vibes…read morewere vibin in each room too. The drink prices seem completely non proportional since a vodka lemonade was like 9 euro and a shot was 3 euro. Dangerous things happen with those prices. When It got late enough there were like 100 people outside smoking cigs which was a vibe and a half and I think im addicted now Oopsie. Fun times at the place thooo

WARNING: Lost coat check ticket = hours in freezing cold with no alternatives…read moreI lost my coat check ticket at Cassiopeia last night. My jacket contained my wallet, ID, and house keys - everything I needed to get home. I immediately went to coat check and explained the situation. I offered to: Describe my jacket in detail Describe everything inside it (including my ID) Show identification through other means Wait inside the venue until 5 AM when they do returns The staff refused all of these options. Their only response: "Come back at 5 AM" or "Come back Monday." When I explained I literally could not go home without my keys and had no money without my wallet, they called security and forced me to leave the club entirely. I was not aggressive, not drunk, not causing any problems - I was a paying customer calmly trying to solve a problem. I was forced to wait outside in 0°C temperatures for hours without a jacket, unable to go anywhere else because all my belongings were locked inside. The issue: Lost coat check tickets happen constantly at every venue. Most clubs have reasonable procedures: verification through ID, jacket description, security deposit, or at minimum letting you wait inside until closing. Cassiopeia's policy is: lose your ticket = you're ejected into the cold with zero alternatives, even if your house keys and wallet are in there. This isn't just bad customer service - it's a safety issue. If you're going here, photograph your coat check ticket or you may end up locked out in freezing temperatures.

The beer garden is quite literally in a blown up building area where trees provide shade and during the evening are lit up with colored mood lighting. The graffiti gives the area's walls character and are sometimes nice to look at and admire. They have several beers on tap or in the fridge. They use a deposit/return glass scheme where they hand you a button/pin for a euro that you'll have returned once you come back with your empty glass. In my case it's normally exchanged right back for another beer. The spot has themed nights such as disco events and fun international music. As an American, the open consumption laws are very freeing and makes for a very relaxed experience. The staff speaks fluent English but will bear with your as you struggle in broken German.
