My son talked me into attending this school instead of Haverhill High…read more I was reluctant at first concerned about the image of a "vocational" school. I was pleasantly surprised that the image vocational schools are given is way off the mark Not only was he allowed hands on exploratory work in about 9 fields, he was evaluated according to his interests and learning style. The teachers are strict and the administration tolerates little They expect the kids to show up and show up on time. They let the parents know everything that is going on with the student ...if they're late, absent . If your child is out of school, they follow up and expect a reason. The kids are expected to behave, keep their noses clean and respect each other What I like about the school is that they prepare them for real world. They don't baby them My son was OSHA and "WORK READY" certified and will be going on COOP in a job in his field The only down side is the lack of resources for the kids in the form of guidance. I know the guidance counselors are trying but there are no programs in the Freshman year that guide, inspire and assist the students to think of college as a possibility -not on a grand scale anyway I was in constant contact regarding the COOP programs and they seem to be in a rut, relying on a few employers for the jobs instead of trying to get as many employers on board as possible to expose the kids to all kinds of work in their field My son has had to get me involved in order to get something done or nothing gets done at all. The guidance counselors know whose parents are involved and whose aren't. So if a kid has the misfortune of having parents who don't get involved or give a crap, they have little voice If you have your child attend here, you won't be sorry. Really The teachers can be quite awesome and the administration will not tolerate a slack teacher The kids come out independent and ready to work. Just make sure you get to know your guidance counselor well and don't think that if your kid can't get the resources he needs to look beyond high school by himself, its automatically it is their fault. You have to push a bit

They do great activities with the kids and all of their employees are wonderful. It's unfortunate that someone gave a 1 star review just because of the fact that TLT charged a fee during Covid. They send out a very honest explanation and at the time were not being offered any special help /programs from the government as other businesses were. They were faced with a very difficult decision and instead of shutting down their doors and leaving tons of parents scrambling, they stayed opened and very transparent of their decision to charge. I was not thrilled about paying either but to me it was worth it and they really didn't have any other options. As far as the other woman that posted a bad review. It sounds like you're not going to be a "good fit" anywhere. If your child requires alone time, that's going to involve another staff member to supervise this child so that he/she can be alone. Not to mention a free space to do this in. Sounds like you should consider an at home nanny service instead of expecting a daycare to conform to your very specific, high level needs. I looked at her profile and she's given 1-2 stars to 4 other area day cares. At some point, you've got stop and think, "maybe it's not them....maybe it's me" I find the need to point this out because I don't think it's fair to TLT or inquiring parents looking at the ratings to base your decisions off two reviews that really aren't relavent to how wonderful this place truly is. Bottom line, our kids loved it here. The staff is incredibly generous and truly cared for our children. I've never felt more comfortable leaving my kids with anyone else than I have here so THANK YOU ALL!!

My children have been attending Cornerstone since they were 3 years old. They are now 9 and 11. Their knowledge of the world and their academics are very strong. (It was his first school ever- He is only 2 yrs old.) Then suddenly in January their teachers informed us that they would not be able to keep him as a full time student the following year. We have two children and my husband and I are both professionals with strict schedules. It was a shock to suddenly be told that our child could only be a student from 8:30 to 11:30am. When we asked them why, they said he would not take naps. Strange, both our children nap regularly EVERYDAY. I was able to talk to the some of the other parents who have children in the same class as my son. A few of them mentioned that their kids also do not nap, but their children WERE attending full time next year. It turns out these families have have other siblings attending Cornerstone. That made us feel that the school was exhibiting some bias against our child. We had heard very little communication from the school during his first 6 months, just mostly generic daily comms, but suddenly we began getting communications 2-3x per week detailing complaints such as our son stepping on bugs, playing with sticks too much or even chewing his food with his mouth open, really?! He was only 2! This continued for weeks which made us feel bullied. This school makes up a lot of stories to cover up their own lies that they tell to parents. The toddler teachers and the Head of school, Lee-Ann are very judgmental. Once the She finds out that you are asking questions about the teachers, some of which are not certified, or questioning their "curriculum", She will make sure that you and your child will have a terrible year filled with multiple early dismissals which cause you to scramble for babysitting coverage or take personal time. Since we been there, the Toddler House class size has dropped by over a third. Do your research, this school has had a lot of issues with the Board of Education and has had multiple lawsuits filed against them, all in the public record. The upper school has a good reputation but their Toddler House leaves a lot to be desired. The reason for my review is to help parents really ask the RIGHT questions before going into this school. Good luck to anyone who is considering entering their child into the Toddler-House.

The place is extremely spacious, giving children lots of room to play; and the layout is unique and refreshing. When I came the teachers were warm and attentive and extremely friendly. I felt at ease as soon as I walked in. I do have to say that I am shocked by the negative review by Amanda O. On here. I was shown around and saw the playpens folded up and neatly tucked away; Mats for nap time were all organized in a closet, and toys were in toy boxes. I did not see any toys in cribs. I'd also like to point out that given how many children and toys there are, the place was impressively neat and organized. As for the baby room, I thought it was a great set up! It's its own separate room; confined and set up so the person in there can be attentive to all babies. The only reason we did not go with Ms Darlene's was merely because of distance. Even though we were unable to attend I highly recommend Ms Darlene's!
