They do not care about academics, the other review from a decade ago still applies. They only push sports, probably because of all the money they get in scholarships. My son has a learning disability and has a plan for extra help which none of the faculty follow, he struggles and tries his best and gets held back, but the star athlete that does nothing all quarter gets pushed along. This school won't help your child with a better education, I'd strongly push for your child to get into Whittier instead, or look into other schools if you're planning to move to the area. I have since taken him out and moved into Newburyport, he is going to the high school there and is already learning more in a few weeks than he did in an entire year at this school.

This school has also been brought to quart by the deparment of education and has lost on many if not all. Last year I had two in camp and they loved every day and every adventure. This year I have a niece there and she cannot wait for more boating, fishing, whale watching, learning....the captain is teaching them about the sea by showing them step by step. they pulled up lobster traps, fillet fish, caught sharks, rode alongside dolphins-total fun for kids. What really amazes me is the amount of knowledge they come home with and the level of respect they gain for ocean life and its importance. Great job by both captains and their family. Great crew.

Our son started in 6th grade and is continuing all through high school…read more With individualized plans (yes, for real, not just on paper), small class sizes, and teachers who put their heart and soul into teaching (they're available for the kids to call/email after hours too!), this is the school I had always wanted to find for my son. He has changed from being a not-so-happy-about-school kid to someone who looks forward to his classes and has shed his school anxiety. All with none of the typical middle school drama! Can't recommend them highly enough! Plus, I have to add that their approach to remote learning is beyond a 5-star rating. To say that they have gone above and beyond is an understatement. The kids are engaged, the teachers are engaged, and school continued. No gaps, no drama, and only positive feedback from us.
