Harmony is a beautiful, Waldorf style learning center and preschool. The rooms are curated with thoughtful, open ended toys that are rotated in and out weekly leaving the kids with hours of entertainment. The entire facility is calming, from the color choices of the rooms, toys, lighting and music, all the way to every staff member. Even on the busiest days I've been here all the kids are quiet, respectful and calm because of the environment that Amy and Chrissy have created. They have a huge outdoor space as well including an acre of land that they take the preschool kids for walk on. They have a sweet little garden and a few chickens, as well as a pretty awesome mud kitchen area. Harmony offers open play for kids under three, parent child classes in five developmental stages for kids up to 3 1/2, as well as transitional preschool and regular preschool. Katie leads all of the parent child classes and she is wonderful. She has such a lovely energy, is always so happy to see the kids, and has a wonderful way of working with the kids. Honestly I loved her before we had even really met her. Though my son hasn't gone to the preschool program yet I look forward to when he does. And Amy, oh boy, we LOVE Amy. On days where I'm having a rough morning sometimes I go to Harmony just so see Amy as I walk in the door. She is so welcoming, and warm. As far as indoor play spaces go Harmony is by far my favorite. We're here 2-3 times a week for open play and for parent child class and I don't see us slowing down any time soon.

The students learn that grace and courtesy are just as important as their math facts. The students are inquisitive and respectful. The faculty are dedicated, supportive and enthusiastic. My children have been attending Cornerstone since they were 3 years old. They are now 9 and 11. Their knowledge of the world and their academics are very strong. I am always impressed by their level of maturity and respect for others and their environment. Cornerstone has shaped them to be strong, positive children.

At first we were so happy to have our son attend Cornerstone as a full time student in their…read moreToddler-house program with 10 other students. (It was his first school ever- He is only 2 yrs old.) Then suddenly in January their teachers informed us that they would not be able to keep him as a full time student the following year. We have two children and my husband and I are both professionals with strict schedules. It was a shock to suddenly be told that our child could only be a student from 8:30 to 11:30am. When we asked them why, they said he would not take naps. Strange, both our children nap regularly EVERYDAY. I was able to talk to the some of the other parents who have children in the same class as my son. A few of them mentioned that their kids also do not nap, but their children WERE attending full time next year. It turns out these families have have other siblings attending Cornerstone. That made us feel that the school was exhibiting some bias against our child. We had heard very little communication from the school during his first 6 months, just mostly generic daily comms, but suddenly we began getting communications 2-3x per week detailing complaints such as our son stepping on bugs, playing with sticks too much or even chewing his food with his mouth open, really?! He was only 2! This continued for weeks which made us feel bullied. This school makes up a lot of stories to cover up their own lies that they tell to parents. The toddler teachers and the Head of school, Lee-Ann are very judgmental. Once the She finds out that you are asking questions about the teachers, some of which are not certified, or questioning their "curriculum", She will make sure that you and your child will have a terrible year filled with multiple early dismissals which cause you to scramble for babysitting coverage or take personal time. Since we been there, the Toddler House class size has dropped by over a third. Do your research, this school has had a lot of issues with the Board of Education and has had multiple lawsuits filed against them, all in the public record. The upper school has a good reputation but their Toddler House leaves a lot to be desired. The reason for my review is to help parents really ask the RIGHT questions before going into this school. Good luck to anyone who is considering entering their child into the Toddler-House.

These classes are generally three hour hands on workshops held in the college's downtown Haverhill culinary school kitchens. Faculty have been friendly, knowledgable and helpful, and the food always delicious. Each instructor has the flexibility to teach their own way so it's always a new experience. Most recently I did a Thai Street food class in which our instructor, Ploy, walked us through making a rainbow salad (with carrots, apples and a variety seasonings), Thai corn fritters, red curry with chicken (served with white rice), and a fun color changing butterfly pea limeade. Our instructor was super professional and balanced learning and the practicalities or working with non-professionals just right. Other classes I've enjoyed include Empanadas, Vietnamese street food, Indian appetizers, and chinese buns. The variety offered is amazing, and you can pick either weeknights or Saturday 10am-1pm.

I went to Northern Essex community college to become a nurse, an RN .I was a single parent at the…read moretime and the instructors were rude they were condescending. I felt like I got no real support from them they they didn't give me a chance to learn a lot of the basics that an RN should know by graduation. There was one Carol Nash, person, one of the instructors who was extremely unfair to me. She even admitted that she just didn't like me as a person so she decided not to give me a chance when there was an opportunity to learn; she would never let me partake in the interesting observations or learning experiences and that went on throughout the entire time. The instructors were poor quality not very fair markers, they would have their favorites. If I wasn't highly motivated to get my RN I would have never made it. And to top it off at the very end of the last semester when I was just about to graduate one of the instructors decided me and this one other student did not have good isolation technique The entire time we were in school they never said anything about that but then the last week of school they threatened not graduate me and this one other student because the instructor didn't like my technique. So in order for us to pass we both had to pay a special tutor $100 and at the time that was a lot of money in '86 $100 a piece .Yet the tutor said that both of our sterile technique was good. They tried everything just to trip me up and few other people. I wasn't the only one who was treated poorly in that school.

She was very helpful in those instances where things weren't going right, stepping in and also giving us the knowledge of how to move forward. While I did not end up with the mug I imagined, I still learned a lot and had fun. I will likely take another class.
