They don't cut corners and have a full range of creative ways to help the children learn and grow. The preschool and school room teachers are exceptional. Both my daughters were more than ready for public school education. The outdoor play areas are large and have a very natural feel to them... They go out every day, sometimes several times a day and they do that year round. (It was his first school ever- He is only 2 yrs old.) Then suddenly in January their teachers informed us that they would not be able to keep him as a full time student the following year. We have two children and my husband and I are both professionals with strict schedules. It was a shock to suddenly be told that our child could only be a student from 8:30 to 11:30am. When we asked them why, they said he would not take naps. Strange, both our children nap regularly EVERYDAY. I was able to talk to the some of the other parents who have children in the same class as my son. A few of them mentioned that their kids also do not nap, but their children WERE attending full time next year. It turns out these families have have other siblings attending Cornerstone. That made us feel that the school was exhibiting some bias against our child. We had heard very little communication from the school during his first 6 months, just mostly generic daily comms, but suddenly we began getting communications 2-3x per week detailing complaints such as our son stepping on bugs, playing with sticks too much or even chewing his food with his mouth open, really?! He was only 2! This continued for weeks which made us feel bullied. This school makes up a lot of stories to cover up their own lies that they tell to parents. The toddler teachers and the Head of school, Lee-Ann are very judgmental. Once the She finds out that you are asking questions about the teachers, some of which are not certified, or questioning their "curriculum", She will make sure that you and your child will have a terrible year filled with multiple early dismissals which cause you to scramble for babysitting coverage or take personal time. Since we been there, the Toddler House class size has dropped by over a third. Do your research, this school has had a lot of issues with the Board of Education and has had multiple lawsuits filed against them, all in the public record. The upper school has a good reputation but their Toddler House leaves a lot to be desired. The reason for my review is to help parents really ask the RIGHT questions before going into this school. Both children passed the written exam and driving exam on their first attempts. I find the instructors go above and beyond to help accommodate students' schedules and special needs. They have amazing flexibility in their scheduling to accommodate the vast needs of the students attending the school. Their communication with me was great when I had questions. The instructors are also very relatable for the students, and the feedback from my children was overwhelmingly positive. Would highly recommend!

My son recently completed driver's education at 603 Driving School. I have no idea what my $900…read moreplus dollars went to but it wasn't proper driving instruction. The girls who do the driving hours are all young, they may be the owner's daughters, and they did highway driving, parking and parallel parking once. The majority of drives were on roads that weren't very busy and he was only exposed to navigating difficult situations with me. As any parent knows, the dynamic is much different with a driving instructor than a parent. He was not adequately prepared for the state written exam, they did a Kahoot on their phones to study vs using the book that the state tests from. I have heard of unprofessional behavior from the instructors from other parents, luckily we didn't have that experience. I would encourage parents to seek a different driving school if they want their child adequately prepared for the road.

They put together creative curriculum that allows the kids to go to the beach for marine biology class, participate in local town meetings for climate change class, to get out into the world and learn first-hand! The students have a voice in choosing what they want to learn about. It's like a college where students are given credits and they demonstrate learning by demonstrating project work and reflecting on themselves - rather than just memorizing information/ taking tests. We are so lucky we found such an amazing learning environment for our daughter, which will encourage her to use her voice, practice critical thinking and love the community around her. U Day is an annual event for students to make connections and find clubs that meet their interests. This year the fair took place on September 12th and the weather was exceptional. The dining halls closed early to encourage students to come to the event and grab a bite. There were vegetarian and gluten free options available so that everyone could enjoy food while listening to music and exploring all the clubs the University has to offer. There truly was something for everyone; the organizations ranged from American Sign Language club to United Asian Coalition to Ski and Board club. There were so many people walking around and signing up for clubs that they felt they would enjoy. It was nice to see everyone out enjoying and embracing themselves. I went to this event to get an idea for what was out there in terms of student organizations and I left as a member of a club. I would highly recommend this event to all Freshman and Upperclassmen as well. The event is a great way to celebrate all the varying cultures and interests our students have to offer. I went hoping to not like it, but I loved it! The campus is gorgeous! There are so many spaces for students to enjoy their college experience. From a state of the art athletic facility with a rock climbing wall, emotiinal support dogs, and swimming pool to a facility for hands on learning how to operate a care for cats and dogs. There are horses and a farming courses. There is a phenominal study abroad option where there are established relationships. I found the campus grounds impressive. Dorms are adequate coed style roomy comfortable options. The campus could have a little more diversity but overall it is a friendly accepting place for students to learn and grow. The staff were very well informed, personable, and accepting. We had a nice meal in the main cafeteria which was very good. I ended up really enjoying our time on campus.

I have one child and sometimes the poopy diapers cause my house to have a slight smell and that is with a garbage compactor with an air filter, I think if a place with 40x more poopy diapers smells a little funky once in great while any logical person would get it. 2. The teachers here really seem to care about my child. For example, my child is potty training and the teacher was so excited to tell me about a successful poop on the potty. They write up accident reports for things that I think are pretty minor-they take your child's well being seriously. 3. Communication is outstanding. I receive a daily note that includes how much my child ate for each meal, how long she slept, when she went to the bathroom, and a special note at the bottom usually letting me know what activity my child enjoyed for the day. A white board hangs at entrance of classroom listing the activities occurred for the day. There is also family facebook page communicating upcoming activities. And the director is very responsive to any concerns/questions. 4. It's educational. My daughter has come home with knowledge that I know we did not give her. Sometimes she will break out into a children's song that I totally forgot the words to and have to look up so I can sing along. My husband and I love the Learning Tree. If we ever had to relocate I would shed many tears over the loss of The Learning Tree.
