All the reviews on here are correct. Golf Almanac is a scam. They target unsuspecting members (newer members), and claim to represent distinguished golf clubs, like StoneBriar Country Club in Frisco, TX, and claim to print their magazines which go out to their members. It's a hard sell for a reason. Because it's a scam. read more

Advertised with them in the past and all was well. Can't say it brought in any additional business. We were approached again the following year and the salesman Mike couldn't have been more impatient. When I was unavailable to talk and a colleague went to take a message, he would just hang up. Once I finally spoke with him, they tried to give the "talk" and lower the price. After I said no thank you, he just hung up again. I was approached literally an hour after I signed up with the Chamber of Commerce (I have seen other reviews here saying that they target new Chamber members) I was given the hard sell and was talked into taking out a quarter-page ad. I paid my money on 21st January 2022 and submitted the artwork shortly afterwards. I have never heard a single word since. I didn't receive a copy and have had no response whatsoever to any of my emails or calls. They literally took my money and disappeared. I haven't heard a single word in 5 months. I have no alternative but to deduce that they are scam artists preying on young small businesses. I am horrified I can't believe I lost so much money. I would give zero stars if I could. Don't go there! I wish I had done my research first - I am certainly paying for it now!!! read more

Don't give your credit card information to anyone contacting you on line or on the phone. If you can't hold it when you buy it, you might never see it! We perform a lot of work within and for one of the local residential gated community golf course's the guy from Golf AlScamAnac told me gets the book. I texted the GM when I was on the phone with Golf AlScamAnac and GM said this magazine has never crossed those member only gates of his. All those rich people playing golf aren't the type to pick up a little booklet, but the magazine doesn't exist for them to take anyway. Don't pay these people. Golf AlScamAnac only has to make six copies and send one to you, to make you think it's legit, and one to each of the country clubs they claim get it. That way, under the law, it's 'free to all country club members.' They DO NOT publish or distribute a whole bunch of magazines and their wording makes it seem like dozens and dozens of people are going to get it, but that simply is not true. If they makes anything, it's maybe those 6 copies and only an on-line version and the only way to see it is for you to scan the QR code or give the code and web address to someone. (Their website says it's printed on the inside cover.) Basically it's up to you to do your own advertising and lead people to the on-line site that has your so-called 'ad' that you paid for. (If there even is one.) There are one million other ways for you to get your info out to people for free. read more

I spoke to a Coleen and she reassured me that my cc would Not be charged until we went over the ad and had some kind of email describing what the layout would look like and the cost...I told her do Not charge my card until we had all of that and they charged my cc anyway, so I think this is a scam do not give them your cc info!! read more

Horrible. Stay away! My company got an email to place an advertisement in their golf journal for a year, and thought it would be a good idea to try it out. We paid for a full first page ad. This is what happened: 1. The magazine did not even come out until end of March - even though we paid for a whole year's worth of exposure. 2. Instead of it containing our full first page ad, we got a quarter page ad thirty pages into the journal! 3. They ignored our calls when we called to complain/ask for a refund. Or the few times I got someone on the phone, they said they'll have someone else call me back. Obviously, I never received a call back. 4. They outright refused to give a refund even though it was their mistake. They said to make up for it, they can give us a full first page ad next year. We didn't want that. They finally agreed to give us a partial refund (50% - which still means we would end up paying more because it was 50% of the cost of the full first page ad, not the quarter page ad on page 30-something). 5. They said they issued the refund. WE NEVER GOT IT. It has been a year. They will never answer our calls anymore. We have given up on ever getting our refund, but this is pathetic. Stay away from this company. It is a scam. Also for the nine months our ad did stay in the journal, we did not get a single phone call. They had said their customers get a lot of prospect calls. I have a small computer programming business. I was approached by The Golf Almanac to advertise in their Country Club Directories. This seemed "hinky" to me at first because in my experience a lot of companies that do similar things do not hold up their end of the agreement. However, unlike the other reviews I received great customer service from Mike the sales rep. Also, their graphic design team was a pleasure to work with and extremely fast with what they did for me. They sent me their work when the design process was completed for me to use in other applications. All in all, my experience was amazing, positive and extremely profitable. Not to mention for the half page price & a special promo Mike threw in for me, my logo on every 8th page in the book combined with graphic design work and distribution this was a "win win"! Coming up soon this will be my second year in the Golf Almanac publication as a preferred vendor & I am thinking of increasing my ad size maybe even another nearby group of clubs. Great magazine! 10 years ago I saw this mag at my local golf club and thought, what a great idea to advertise my own business in. I have been a loyal customer and reader now for over 10 years. The staff is great and I make my advertising dollars go along way. I'm a contractor and every year I receive several leads from my ad and when I land just one of those, my ad pays for itself 10 fold. Could not have had a better experience working with a company. I was contacted to advertise in my local country clubs through a golf magazine. The price was right and so were the people I would be reaching.. mostly members of high-end country clubs, so I agreed. I really put the graphic design department to the test as I wasn't really sure what I wanted initially, but I knew I would know it when I saw it. In the end, my ad turned out better than I could've imagined (thanks for putting up with me Brent!) and I now havce that to use for other marketing opportunities! Worth the price alone! I then stopped by the pro shop as I was there for lunch that day anyway and I felt like a minor celebrity seeing my face there on the back cover of the book. Everyone here is so nice and you really feel like you're being taken care of as a person and not just a client. read more
