As a school psychologist, I've been consistently impressed by the center's thoughtful curriculum and the way social-emotional learning is seamlessly woven into the day. The focus on school readiness--academically, socially, and emotionally--gave our kids such a strong foundation. They also loved the amazing crafts, engaging science projects, and hands-on learning experiences that sparked their curiosity and creativity. We're so grateful for the years we spent at Family Tree--they gave our children such a loving, enriching start. Completely opposite experience with my son. Due to high staff turnover, my son was not able to receive the care and support that my daughter did. After a dozen evaluations recommended by leadership, my son was not diagnosed with any developmental deficiencies or behavioral problems and did not qualify for special needs or IEP programs. The frequency that I was contacted to complain about my son doing things that are age appropriate (bathroom accidents, sensory processing, not sitting still during circle time, etc) was astoundingly unnecessary, we chose to place him in a different childcare center as there is a pattern of toddler boys being terminated for similar and worse reasons.

I met with Karen, the director, after a girlfriend of mine recommended them. We walked throughout the entire school, not just the infant room- which is what we needed. The do in house field trips! They go all the way up to kindergarten, and while touring, I could tell all the staff and kids were happy. This is important to me, as I want the best for my child. They have a chef! They introduce nutritional meals and plant a seed of understanding food groups at a young age, to instill healthy food choices as they grow. I LOVE THIS! I was talking to a neighbor mom who couldn't understand why they would have a chef, and to ME, it's important. Because cooking, prepping, rationing out snacks and meals, is tough sometimes. I run a business and manage an office, and my husband works starting his days at 630 at a glass contracting facility, so we are BUSY! Knowing my daughter can get the proper attention and great food, makes me feel VERY confident that I'm providing her with the best school. They have monitors and video cameras, which helps me feel the kids are safe. There's monitors in the front lobby. Everything was clean, everything was labeled, and it felt like they're managed very well. From sign language, to educational groups, to the hands on staff- I just feel this is the best center in town. I literally cried in the parking lot! My only complaint is the price. It's nearly double what other daycares nearby offer! Their full-time rate is 500$. I understand they offer a LOT and it's the best of the best, but 3-400 range would be more appropriate in my opinion. Worth the tour! the kids will thrive! This is our dream daycare!

I certainly was extra stressed with the process of getting twins acclimated to the daycare environment at 15 months (they were at home with a nanny before this), but everyone from the the teachers and staff and director helped make the process work. They girls have their primary teacher, but are constantly interacting with different groups of kids and teachers and staff. This has been wonderful in getting them accustomed to new people outside of the school environment. They used to be very shy about meeting new people but its a comfortable process being in new places now. The school also helps me as a first time mom with many questions I'll have about different things the kids experience. An added bonus that extends beyond the school environemnt!

Our son has been at Burlington Montessori for two years. He is extremely happy there, and so are…read morewe. He's made wonderful progress academically, socially, and creatively. The staff at BMS is incredibly diverse, which contributes to a rich learning environment for the children. They are exposed to different cultures and are developing a world view that is larger than their block. Miss Rubina takes a close interest in our son's progress, even suggesting curriculum and activities to keep up through the summer, which he has shown a keen interest in. The staff are incredibly involved and considerate. We are so grateful we have a wonderful school that we have confidence sending our child to. The only thing we are sorry about is that the school doesn't go beyond grade 1, we would stay as long as possible in this rich, nurturing environment.

Oak Meadow has been an absolutely amazing educational experience for my family for the past two…read moreyears. My children are young (2 and 4), so it's my first school encounter as a parent, and I know the bar has been set incredibly high. The children are nurtured and deeply cared for by amazing, highly qualified and empathetic teachers who lead by example. They are genuinely excited to go to school each day, and, through the Montessori teaching method, absorb imperative life, critical thinking, analytical, and social skills in the classroom that they then take home with them. Oak Meadow students (my own and those that I've observed of all ages) are independent thinkers who are considerate, respectful, and supportive of one another. It's so refreshing to witness! Oak Meadow is a very special learning environment - we looked at many preschools in the area, and are consistently impressed with Oak Meadow's curriculum, teachers, and community.

The personal attention and care that he received from his teachers all through his years at the school has a lot to do with this success.
