I will never recommend this daycare to a parent. Please be very careful with communication with the staff when choosing this daycare. Ask for everything in writing, every report and every communication, do not let the teachers let you think a conversation in passing is a way for them to give you feedback on your child. Ask for specific observations on your child. Their app updates are all generic and they don't actually give you individual updates on your child ever. But ask for it, I assumed my child was doing well but don't assume anything with this school. Tread very very cautiously. Ask for any written reports they might have on your child. They made me believe my child was not normal. My child's doctor validated my beliefs that she was indeed perfectly fine. Additionally my daughter's class lost two good teachers in the span of 2 weeks with no explanation given to the parents. They have a systemic communication problem. Be ready for the fact that any challenge or negative feedback will lead to an immediate removal of your child on that same day with no chance to even look for other childcare options. My child went here for 3 years and they treated my family and I like strangers in a span of 48 hours. They made me feel threatened and intimidated, I had to explain to my crying child in the car why she couldn't say goodbye to all her friends, their actions made her feel she did something wrong. Absolutely heartbreaking. Don't ever consider sending your child here, your child is just a number to them. If you do make the decision to send your child to this Goddard look up their reports on the childcare.hhs.texas.gov and just do your due diligence. read more

Goddard is a fine school. I wrote the original review in a rage. I don't care for their policy when it comes to poop. I think it's a pile of poop. I hope your kids have perfect poops that aren't the slightest bit loose if you go there, because if you don't they will send them back to you when you're trying to actually get stuff done for a change or you know, go to work. read more

All my three children have attended this school since they were infants (about 6 years). The staff have been nothing short of amazing and I truly appreciate the personalized care for the children. The curriculum is very tailored to each age group and has been outstanding. The teachers and staff foster a family-like environment and maintain an open and honest communication. Today is my son's last day at Goddard and after his year of enrollment I can finally write a review that encapsulates our experience there. From the moment my son was at the school it never really felt warm. It always seemed that there were one or two people who actually showed any type of interest in him other than that he was completely ignored. The first few times we dropped him off there no one would greet us except for the person at the front desk. His teachers would not say a word, not even a "hello" to me or my son. This was particularly disheartening because my son was having a hard time being at school without me since he was 2 when he started and never was in daycare or school prior to Goddard. There was never a moment of trying to comfort him. I would watch from my car through their windows and he would be left crying at the front door with no one to acknowledge or attempt to comfort him. I realize that there are a lot of children to care for but to have absolute disregard of a small, distressed child just seemed cruel. After a couple months we were convinced that Goddard wasn't the right fit and began the withdrawal paperwork, however after speaking with a staff member and being told there would be teacher changes we agreed to stay on and give it another chance. Things seem to get better from there especially when he transitioned from one building to another one. There we met a godsend of a teacher named Mr. Jordan. I cannot say enough good things about him as he was so kind and loving towards our son. That being said, he was the only real person who cared everyone else would ignore us when we entered rooms or be super lukewarm with my son. What was worse was it was clear they had favorites both kids and parents. I cannot tell you the countless times my husband and I would come to get my child and be greeted less than warmly if at all and another parent would come behind us and there would be an instant mood change of sunshine and flowing conversations. It's not like the school is cheap either so to shell out hundreds of dollars each month to just be barely acknowledged is infuriating. I will say some teachers/employees were nice enough but overall, they treat your child like a number, unless you are one of the "favorites" Additionally the app that is used to communicate and disseminate information to parents is such a waste of technology. They give generalized reports and no individualized information regarding your child. So, they'll say "they did group yoga today" but that could mean your child didn't even participate. I never knew if my son had a good or bad day unless I asked someone, which again makes me wonder what the point of the app was in the first place. One day I came into the classroom and it was completely rearranged but they had new name tags on the cubbies. Every child had their name printed except for my child. When I inquired they said the run out of supplies. Ok, fine but then it took 2 more weeks and me finally mentioning it again for them to handwrite his name on a paper and tape it on the cubby. The weeks leading up to having my son withdrawn for the second time, I requested a meeting with the director. I was told this would happen and an email exchange would occur but it never did and I didn't think I need to chase down staff when I was told this meeting would be arranged. Even now on his last day no one from management side came to say goodbye or to follow-up, basically like they never cared if he was there or not. Fitting for the way the whole school has been from the start. Looking back we never should have remained there. We mainly stayed due to limited options and because we thought things were looking better. If you want your child to be treated like a number and not fully embraced, send them here, otherwise I would advise looking elsewhere. read more

It's been ages since I have written a review but since we feel like Goddard cares more about money then actually creating a comforting environment for new families, I wanted to share our experience for new moms and dads looking for a daycare program in the Heights. Location was a big driver for us when selecting this daycare over others. It was walking distance from our home and although during the tour, we were concerned about the small rooms-- the schedule, willingness to allow home lunch, and Tadpole app really won us over. However, in the first week, we knew this daycare wasn't a good fit for our little one. This stemmed from concerns regarding cleanliness, communication issues, and overall energy at the daycare. Examples include: * Lack of warmth and positive energy from the staff. * Not informing parents when multiple kids have the same illness in one class. * Toys not being sanitized properly Their response when we told them 2.5 weeks into our first month that we did not want to return for another month only confirmed we were making the right choice for our family. However at the end of the month, they contacted us not to ask why we wanted to leave Goddard but for our payment for the following month. It felt like the director (who never introduced herself to us) did not care to speak to us for feedback she just wanted to ensure we would be paying for the month knowing we had withdrawn from the school. Money is important, but the families and children should be their businesses priority. That's why based on our personal experience, we would not recommend the Goddard School in the Heights. If you do decide to enroll your little one, just make sure you read the fine print of your contract so you are not expected to continue paying them after you withdrawal. Our kids don't go here, but it's because of the experience we had during our tour. The front desk staff were nice and welcoming but that vibe ended as soon as we entered the second set of doors. Our tour guide was unfriendly/unwelcoming/didn't want to be there. The other staff we met during the tour were the same. There are 3 campuses to this location. You tour the newest one, of course. This is not optional--you can't tour the other 2 because they said administration isn't at those campuses. The newest facility is nice. The rooms are on the small side but that's not a big issue. We were told they had a spot for our son, except it was at one of the other campuses. We asked if we could tour the actual campus he would be assigned to. We were told no. So basically you tour the nicest, newest campus and may or may not be put into that location. We didn't feel comfortable putting a deposit down into a place we can't see. So we opted to be put on the waitlist for the new campus. Called back several times to check in, was told each time Brittany Webb would call us back. She never did. I honestly love this place! We started my first LO at the age of 2 and since then have my other LO in there. I started my second one at the age of 3 months and as nervous as I was I realized it was the best thing seeing as how advanced he currently is. Due to a new job we moved them to Kipling (which I wasn't impressed by) and then COVID happened so we stayed home for roughly 7-8 months. We decided to get them back at Goddard and both of my boys now 4&2 love it! Some people have the highest expectations of daycare and in my opinion they are there to ensure your child is safe while you're at work so some rate unfair. I love the teachers as do my boys and they are clean, friendly and in my opinion a great place . One of the huge perks is they offer a parents night out which helps tremendously if you don't have much help, it allows the hubby and I a nice date night out! read more

I have two kids, aged 2 and 4, who attend Goddard School - space building in Greater Heights. I am truly pleased with the staff and curriculum at Goddard. The teachers go an extra mile in everything they do. The directors are also amazing, they listen to parents' needs, and take quick actions to address any concerns. Initially We were very impressed with the Goddard School, particularly the reputation of the institution and the curriculum is what made us settle here for our son. Unfortunately as time progressed we began to see a different side of the school. Such as a high turnover of the staff, a staff that were not professional at all. But most importantly we felt a lack of compassion, patience and the inability of being culturally sensitive. After a short tenure we were finally told that due to our son's cultural differences (he speaks two languages) that perhaps the institution is not the best place for him! We were hurt, disappointed and offended so immediately we removed our son from the school. Based on our personal experiences we would not be inclined to recommend the Goddard School. read more

We put our name on the waiting list with fingers crossed that we would get in. I'm so glad that we were actually able to get our daughter into the Goddard School. They have been absolutely amazing with her. Every teacher and staff member I have met there is so sweet and helpful. It is so hard as a first time parent trusting other people with your child but I feel so comfortable with everyone there. Also a huge huge plus is that they offer Parents Night Out where they will watch your children for 4 hours on a Saturday. We don't have grandparents that live in TX so that means so much to us that they do those types of events for parents. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good daycare option! read more

She does not handle situation with care and affection for the kids, so the Director. The teachers turnover is really high and I have talked to some of them and now understand all that goes behind the scenes and why they do leave. Very unstructured school that only cares about money. The owner told me in my face that this is business when I brought up the situation I was unhappy with. My kid is much happier where she is now. I do not recommend this Goddard to anyone. read more

We found Goddard in April of 2016. We met with Goddard to get more information knowing we would not potentially enroll her into school until Jan 2017 . The information provided clearly discussed wait list and how it works, enrollment, fees, classes, etc. We left in complete understanding that we might not get into Goddard immediately or for the start date requested.. in fact all the deposit paperwork states this. Our daughter started in February 2017. And we love it!!! The teachers and staff are wonderful to work with. She's doing yoga, learning Spanish, and doing fabulous crafts and activities everyday. And we've met other parents and families that we've gotten to know for play dates and other activities.... we highly recommend Goddard to anyone!! read more

We love the Goddard School in the Heights! The teachers are very warm and loving, and the curriculum is interesting and fun. They send photos on an app so I can see that my kids are well cared for and happy during the day. My older daughter was very well prepared for school when she left. My baby is still there and has great bonds with her teachers. read more

We have had our daughter at Goddard for a year and have loved it since the beginning. They are great with communication and have an outstanding curriculum. Since they use Tadpoles, we get a daily report each day about what they have done and everyday get at least one (but usually more) picture of her involved in an activity. They are responsive by email when I have questions and always available to parents onsite. We are so happy here that we moved to Spring Branch and still bring our little one here because we haven't found anything remotely close to what we have with Goddard. Our daughter is thriving, which is ultimately the most important thing for us. For reference, our daughter is now 3 1/2, she started in the Get Set room (2s) and is now in the Pre-K room for 3s. They offer Soccer Shots also, which is a plus to have an activity onsite where she is able to participate with her friends from school (and we don't have to pick up/drop off for another activity). read more

I won't recommend Goddard due to the fact that make the parents pay for getting on the wait list. In fact we signed up in August of 2016 (before our baby was born) and were told we would get into the infant room by September 2017. However, they only have 8 spots for infants and when we signed up they won't tell us, how many people were in front of us back in August 2016. We checked our status on April 2017 and found out there were 94 people ahead of us! Thus, Goddard played us for fools and took our $150 for free. Im writing this review for new parents that are considering signing up for Goddard not to do so and waste your money on the wait list. Absoloutly the best school EVER! My son has been attending Goddard for almost a year now. Everyone at the school is so caring and loving towards the children. The teachers specially. I have my unborn child on the waitlist now and we look forward to attending as soon as they have availability. Thanks Goddard for always being so attentive to my kid.
