I'll start by saying it's a given that every parent wants the very best for their children. When I returned to work, shortly after my son hit the 3 month mark, my biggest challenge was finding comfort knowing that he will have the love, attention and learning potential that he has at home with family. What a great decision we made to have him join The Goddard School. A family in our neighborhood recommended my husband and I visit open house at The Goddard School. We fell in love with the people, curriculum, cleanliness and programs for the children. I wondered how much my son would get out of the quality curriculums at such a young age. I wondered if I wanted to pay more and drive further to have him go to "daycare." After 2 months, I can say it's been worth it thus far. Mr. Chow runs a smooth operation. My husband and I are confident when we drop our son to school, knowing he is getting everything that is important to us. My son loves his teacher, Mrs Baires. She has a soft voice, warm vibe and works with my son everyday on his mental and physical development. He gets what he needs at school and when he moves up to the 1 year old class it will be hard for him to leave her classroom. He truly lights up when he sees her. For parents who have strict expectations, this crew is very open and understanding to how you want things done. The teachers are flexible with our requests, and we receive daily pictures with the activities he participated in that day along with an update on his eating and sleeping schedule. The Goddard School at Crossroads is PHENOMINAL! The environment is very safe, clean and welcoming. The classes are small and allow for a lot of one on one interaction with the teacher's. My son's development is an testament to that. Their curriculum allows for just enough fun while learning on a daily basis. The food options given are healthy and is such s difference than the other schools that offer fried food weekly! The Director's Ms. James and Ms. June have the best communication skills of any school I have seen. The Owner's Mr. and Mrs. Chow are very hands on and we appreciate their weekly involvement. My older son has attended the School Age Camp they offer for Spring Break and Summer and absolutely LOVES it. I couldn't ask for a better school and so happy it opened near us. I have many things to say about managerial concerns, lack of respect, and an all together negative environment as a teacher who worked at this Goddard location, but primarily I want to focus on the safety concerns for children that I feel all parents should know. On December 31, 2020 a student in the Get Set room had a fever of 100.7, his mother was called so he could go home. He was left in the classroom around other students until his mother arrived. The outlet covers on the outlets outside on the young playground are not child-proofed and children are constantly lifting the cover and touching the outlets and wanting to stick things in them. The carpets in the classrooms have never been vacuumed since I started working there in August of 2020. They are disgusting, and full of dirt and germs. The carpets are also not moved by the cleaning crew and swept or mopped under. When the kids lift up the carpet they are met with months of grime under the carpet. Many of the fences surrounding the school on both the older playground and younger playground are not bolted down anymore due to age and wear. I have more, but as I wrap up I want to mention what I find to be the most important, the manager Tiffany asked me for my login information for the training site (CCEI) that teachers use for training hours on December 21, 2020. On January 6, 2021, six days after I stopped working at Goddard, I received an email thanking me for completing a training on SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome that I did not take. I do not want to accuse anyone of anything but I find it incredibly worrisome that a training was done under my name when under the Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers, every center in Texas is required to give each employee 24 hours of training for each 12 months. This is something that has to be reported, and I am truly troubled that this school is reporting that I completed trainings that I never even saw, and I wonder how many other teachers were asked for their login information and had trainings completed for them by someone else. read more

Sent my son to infant class. I dropped in one day to find him crying loudly lying on the floor up close to another infant's feet and not one of the teachers around him to comfort him. The teacher on watching me enter ran to pick him up. This was not the first time that I had seen him cry unattended. The number of teachers is way low as compared to number of kids. They put very young infants,crawling and walking infants together which is not correct. I have seen one of the infants crawling up to my 5 months old who could barely sit that time and almost Pat his face before the teacher stopped him. There is hardly any communication from the teacher on how the child's day was. Whenever you call to check they say the child is doing well even when you can hear them cry. An older infant has a lot more food needs than a younger one and putting them all in same class with just 2 teachers is ridiculous. You will hardly ever meet the owner also. When I complained to director too all I was told was I shouldn't expect them to hold my child Everytime time he cries. That was it for me. My child has been going to this school for almost 2 years and she loves it! It is obvious that everyone here truly cares about children and education. It is not just a job to them. This goes for the teachers and the entire staff. My daughters teacher (Ms. Garza) keeps a close eye on her development and will offer suggestions on things we can work on together at home. Her teachers keep me informed on what they do everyday and everyone always makes time for me when I have questions. Ms. Mai, Mrs. Smith and Ms. Braswell are not even her direct teachers, and they all have a special bond with my child. The events they have for the children are amazing...Science Fairs, pony rides, food drives for the needy...My daughter loves everyone here so much that she gets upset if we have to miss a day of school. I am so happy here and have recommended this place to all my friends! read more

Both of our boys go to this school and we love it. Ms. Juca and Ms. Dicks in the infant room are absolutely wonderful! We always felt like our baby was being well-cared for and loved on. He's "graduated" to the next room now, and adjusted right away. Our 3-year-old has been here for about 1.5 years and has thrived with his teachers and the curriculum. Ms. Hernandez in Preschool I has done such a good job with him and always has such fun activities planned. As a parent you are naturally apprehensive about leaving your children anywhere with anyone (whether it be leisure or school). My oldest daughter (2.5 years old) began at Goddard in September of 2015 having come from another "named facility" my husband and I desired a more structured environment to develop her mentally, emotionally and physically. After searching around our home area in Cypress at all of the local facilities (Primrose, Children's Lighthouse, Kids R Kids, LaPetite, Champions etc. ) my heart found peace in my first and only tour with the Director, Mrs. James at Goddard. As working parents we had become tired of paying our hard earned money for an "8hour play date/5 days a week" at our previous facility. At her previous daycare I would watch online from the time I dropped her off until when I picked her up. Initially, this was my largest fear about starting at Goddard, but that passed within the first week. The updates and pictures through the day and the daily report via the Tadpoles app leaves no need to worry about what your child is doing. Needless to say, our 2.5 year old tells us EVERYTHING and is always excited about going to school to see her friends and teachers. The facility is ALWAYS clean (this in itself is a huge plus!) The teachers, staff, owners are all hands on and engaged in every aspect of your child. From the healthy meals/snacks (thanks Mrs. Jean ;), to the structured curriculum, the themed weekly activities and play time, I know that my child is learning and growing in a wholesome environment. She's tried to even teach us YOGA at night! What daycare in Houston other than a QUALITY facility teaches this daily?! When I was pregnant with our now 4.5 month old we knew that she would be at Goddard as well with no reservation; she is already rolling over, sitting up, eating baby food and doing YOGA as well! We are very happy with this Goddard School location. The Owner and Directors have really set a tone that shows they care about the quality of care and education that your child receives regardless of age. As a parent it is very important to me that my daughter receives high quality care since she spends more waking hours during the week at day care than she does at home. My daughter has attended this school since she was 5 months old right when they first opened up and I can definitely say they achieve this and more. I feel like her teachers genuinely care about her and they do more than just "watch" or "babysit". They actually have a curriculum from the infant age and I can tell she has learned a great deal. My daughters have been attending Goddard since it opened. My wife and I are extremely satisfied so far with the outstanding care and education they receive on a daily basis. Leaving your prized possessions with anyone other than family or friends can be nerve racking however since day one management reassured us our children would be in safe hands and that promise has been kept to this day. The teachers have a passion for what they do and it shows not only in the faces of our children but we also see it in the faces of other children as parents drop off or pick up. We love the daily reports we get via email and look forward to pictures of the girls we receive showing what they have been learning that day. As a parent it is extremely important to be involved with your child's education and we feel that we are able to do this due to all the special family events that we have been able to attend at the school. These events also gave us a chance to not only spend quality time as a family but also to meet the parents of the children that our girls have become friends with. My wife and I highly recommend this school and feel we made the right choice for our children. My wife and I just had our 3 daughter in March this year, and she's is already registered to attend this school in June . I wouldn't consider putting her anywhere else. Our son has been going to Goddard since their doors opened for the first day. Our initial experience was great. He had the best teacher - hands down - Mrs. Garza. When our daughter was a little older, we planned on putting her into the school. Her first day was January 4th, 2016 in Ms. Hernandez's class. She was very excited to attend school. I walked her into Ms. Hernandez's classroom. Ms. Hernandez never said anything to her or myself. The assistant, Ms. Kayla walked up and introduced herself and started engaging our daughter. Still - Ms. Hernandez never engaged. After her first day of school, she told us that the teacher had pulled her hair and demonstrated how she did it. Our daughter has never said this about anyone and never showed that action before either. She was scared to go back. We went to school the next morning (Day 2) and walked our daughter down the hallway so she could see several of the teachers. We finally got to the gym area and our daughter saw Ms. Hernandez and said "she did it, bad teacher, teacher pulled my hair, bad teacher" and stared right at her. We went to the office and met with Ms. James and told her what had happened and our disapproval. We told her that Ms. Hernandez had abused our child and we wanted her gone. Ms. James proceeded to tell us that they were going to take care of it immediately and that she was going to call the owners and also told us that Ms. Hernandez had been written up before. Right then we didnt understand why she was allowed in the classroom. Goddard placed Ms. Hernandez on immediate suspension and they moved our daughter up to Ms. Mai's classroom. Our daughter completely enjoyed that classroom and Ms. Mai and was once again excited to return to school. The following day, (Day 3) as I was dropping my daughter off in Ms. Mai's classroom, Ms. James approached me and said that they would like to go ahead and move our daughter back to her original classroom. I told her that we would not be doing that until our meeting with Mr. Chow the following morning. Ms. James acknowledged and said she would talk with Ms. Teri and Mr. Chow (The Owners). An hour later, my wife made a pop up visit to check on our daughter and her well being. She called to tell me that our daughter wasn't in her classroom. She finally located our daughter in the classroom we told Ms. James not to put her in because she was distraught and abused in that space and didn't feel safe. We were very upset. My wife took her out of school immediately. The next day (Day 4) we met with Mr. Chow, Ms. Teri, and Ms. James. We explained to them that they had lost our trust by making decisions that were not in the best interest of our child and her well being. We had been told certain things by Ms. James and she seemed to back track out of her statements since the owners were present. They then proceeded to tell us that they had placed Ms. Hernandez back into the classroom because they assumed we were going to go ahead and withdraw our children from the school! Seriously?? How can you place an adult who physically abused a child back into one of your classrooms? I think their actions say that they are willing to place anybody in their classroom as long as they are receiving your money. They failed my daughter, they will fail yours too. We are working with licensing to make sure no other kids are abused at this school. These owners are out of touch, Ms. James is an owner pleaser, and the safety of the children is not their priority. read more
