This was our first time in Kidventure. My kids went to Camp holly in memorial area and had their first ever worst experience of summer camp. They complained alot about the following every day: Teachers screaming alot with exception of few. Kids bullying and no one did anything about it until last minute. Some kids got favored over other kids and received more activities such as treasure boxes and etc. I asked them to rate their experience every day from 1 to 10 and in except few days, their rating was never 5. My kids kept asking when they go back to school? They simply preferred to be at school than in summer camp. I had no other choice but to keep them there for half summer but will not repeat this mistake again. It sounded more like a child care facility than a camp. I checked with other families and mostly had the same experience. Although if you talk to customer service, they are very professional and will do what they can to accommodate you but overall the Kidventure is not a fun camp at all. Most camp teachers are very young kids in their teens or early twenties so im not surprised with their level of service. Overall, i wish I had done more research. You can't find any reviews about Kidventure anywhere except in their own website so I wanted to share my kid's experience with everyone else. read more

WARNING!!! Buyer beware! Do not sign up for the entire summer in advance if your travel plans have a possibility to change!!! Our island vacation plans were changed due to COVID and the camp REFUSED to cancel and refund the $305 we already paid for a week. They "require" 2 weeks notice. They also refused to allow us to send a friends child in our daughter's place since there are no refunds. Be very careful and sure of your plans before signing up with this company. read more

I enrolled my two kids in the St. Marks, Plano, TX location and found myself pulling on locked doors and peering through windows into dark rooms. I think it's safe to say, Kidventure's website is misleading and needs an overhaul. Perhaps this review may help change my user experience for others. First of all, the Kidventure Camp web photo associated with this location displays the front of the main entrance of the "Saint Mark Catholic School" along with a written description stating, "Located at St. Mark Catholic School." This is the first misleading information for parents attempting to find this location, which is tucked away in a former strip center. Apparently, this strip center is part of the church, which is part of the school, which absolutely doesn't match the photo or description, making the location an adventure to find. Second of all, it's possible to enroll in the camp and be charged without providing immunization forms -- which according to the camp admin is unacceptable -- a showstopper for allowing the kids to partake in the camp. Why would the online enrollment form allow this to happen? This means, it's possible for Kidventure to charge me and then refuse to take my kids if I don't provide the records. This should be a required section in the enrollment process. If it can't be provided during enrollment, then the transaction is void. Lastly, on the kidventure.com's main page, it states, "Kidventure also offers the kids at the summer camp lunch and a light snack during the day." Lunch is not offered at the Kidventure Saint Mark Catholic School strip mall. Kidventure.com needs to have a checklist on the homepage for parents to ensure no child is left behind without proper sustenance, and to give parents a breakdown of what they are paying for. read more

Do not send your kids to this camp if you are thinking you will send them with a camp buddy/friend. This camp is completely disorganized. On week 2 they split up my daughter and her friend even though we registered the two of them together as camp buddies. The whole reason why we sent her to summer camp was so that she could attend with her friend! When we called to get it fixed, we were told "sorry there is nothing we can do, the groups are already formed for the week". When my husband spoke with the staff at drop off they acted as if they couldn't care less. It was obvious these people are not happy about working at this camp nor did they prioritize customer service to their paying clients. Completely unacceptable. We are going to ask for a refund and plan to never return. read more

I love working for KV in the summer! I'm a teacher and usually the school year can beat me up pretty badly. However, at KV I get to have more fun with my campers. We're not stressed about test prep, only how much fun we can have and still remain safe. KV is also how I made the connection to start my teaching career. One of my directors connected me with a former principal she knew and the rest is history. Even after a hard initial COVID year, KV was a breath of fresh air. There's no other summer job I'd rather have. KV is the place to be! read more

My 2 kids loved the camp. Only thing they complained about was too much noise -- too much yelling/ screaming as part of camp activities (and not just for the all camp rally). I know they describe the camp as an active, energetic camp, so we aren't really complaining. Just wanted to mention in case some other kid(s) isn't fond of loudness. My younger kid got a headache the 1st day. Only thing I really did not like about this camp is that they require the kids to wear their camp t-shirt every single day -- not just field trip day. The latter makes sense, but when they're all in 1 room not going anywhere, there's no logic to having them all wear camp shirts except to make money off parents buying more shirts (beyond the 1 given during registration). We refused to do that since we would have no use for 5 shirts per kid once the week of camp was over, so I just hand washed their shirts every day. Annoying and a waste of my time. No other camp we've been to makes kids wear their camp shirt on non-field trip days. read more

This is based on my experience at the Pearland location, with a Living Social offer. I bought the Living Social Deal and within an hour I had completed all paperwork. We signed up for the Pearland location on the opening week. Got my confirmation email within another hour. I noticed on my online acct that things looked funny and sent out an inquiry but was assured that we were 100% registered. Still, I had my suspicions after not getting their newsletter a few days before camp. I looked all over online and in my email, but fortunately my friends was able to forward me the email. So Monday morning happens and I am shocked to find out they had no information on my children. This was disappointing because one child has a peanut allergy and the other had a friend request. A parent in front of me was turned down because of being full, so I was really nervous until a call was made allowing us in. The next day someone from corporate emailed me to get payment information for pizza friday and I voiced my concerns about the first day mix up. On one hand, I was told it was a printing error and on the other, it was a computer error. But it was eventually sorted out. One thing worth mentioning is that after we arrived on the first day, my kids were given t-shirts to change into before joining their buddies. The older one, an explorer, was given red. The younger one, a discoverer, was given blue. At some point after I left, tho, the younger one was instructed to change into a red shirt and thusly separated from his buddy. Not only that, but he wasn't even placed with his older brother. Again, I was explained it was a staffing issue, but I could have been asked or they could have looked at the records and found a child older than he to go with the older kids. When I consulted with a few other families, there happened to be issues with their registrations as well. So make sure you register quickly and completely and get that confirmation. The kids seemed to enjoy the activities and the weekly themes and lessons were pretty pleasing. The younger kids got a day at the splash pad but were encouraged to take naps daily. The older kids got a field trip on Thursdays. They really liked the rally on Fridays - team oriented and energetic. It was a great way to meet the counselors and buddies they've made, and get some photo-opps. They serve peanut-free snacks. Altho considering their registration confusion, I made an appoint to go over the peanut allergy stuff with staff members to make sure precautions were made every day and on the field trip. They did cooperate tho. The lunches are $32/week and there's a pizza friday option for $6.50. That seemed steep, but we did do the friday pizza. It's worth noting that the provided lunches were peanut-free too. At $12/shirt, I decided not to buy extra shirts despite having to wear them day in and out. I thought when I enrolled in extra weeks that they'd provide another shirt - nope! No courtesy there even though it mostly just amounts to group identification and advertising for them. Valet drop off and pickup as well as location were personally convenient. It was worth the LS deal, but probably not the regular price. read more

(St. Theresa location) You know this is a good camp when your kids are (a) excited every single day to go, and (b) cry when they find out it's their last week of camp. I love the fact that there is a mix of types of activities every single day. All of the counselors were friendly, focused, and creative. My only regret is that it didn't go longer in the summer at this particular location. We had a bit of a problem with registration in February (registration website wasn't working properly). That led to us showing up on the 1st day of camp unregistered (without us knowing). Partially my fault as I just assumed the registration had gone through. They had space, however, and the kids got to stay. Note to self: always make sure I get a confirmation email from any registration. We'll definitely be back next summer. read more

Kidventure is such a blessing!!!! I am a working mom, so it was a bit of a challenge to find a camp that covered the whole summer. Most are partial days, only one month, etc. so I was relieved to find Kidventure offers camps through the entire summer and at so many different locations! My daughter (6) went to the St. Theresa location last year, and my son (3) went this year as well; and they both love it. My daughter was even asking me to go to post-camp! Honestly, what makes this camp is the counselors. They are all so bright and friendly and just wonderful people with our children. Every one of them is special. They bond with the kids and come up with so many fun, creative activities for them. I also love that they take the older kids on a field trip every week, so they get to experience different things. I really could not recommend a better camp for kids. read more

This is for the St. Theresa location. Overall it seems like a good camp and a good value for the price. They have a good system for keeping track of kids and I like that I can pay for lunches and post camp care as well. The only thing that I see that could be improved is that the signage for pick up and drop off is not very clear or helpful. It will be day 3 of camp tomorrow and I think I have finally gotten the hang of it. read more

My son spent a week in July at the overnight Safari camp organized by Kidventure. He loved it, had a wonderful time. Unfortunately last week I received this email from the Kidventure staff: "Dear Kidventure Family, We need to notify you of an incident that happened with our third party registration system that compromised some information of a small number of users. We were notified this week that certain pieces of personal information were exposed in the registration system including email, account holder's name, and the last four digits of credit cards. We regret to inform you that you were one of these users. Please note that full credit card information was not exposed. At no time was the system or code used in these third-party systems breached. This incident was solely a result of an internal human error on the part of the third party system. Regpack (registration system) and BlueSnap (merchant processor) have taken the following actions in the wake of this occurrence: Both Regpack and BlueSnap have conducted thorough reviews of the environments and found that all systems are secure. Regpack and Bluesnap have updated all internal security procedures and processes to ensure that no data can leave internal environments. This ensures such an incident will not occur again. We work very hard to provide our families with the highest experience in all that we do. Your kids' safety and the safety of the information you entrust to us is very important and we will continue to do all that we can to keep the things you hold close safe. We apologize for this situation and will take every step to ensure the third parties we utilize for our registration systems are making every effort to ensure your online safety and ours. Sincerely, Your Kidventure Team" While I appreciate the effort taken by the staff to investigate this breach of information, what I cannot understand is why our personal and financial information is kept on file so long after the camp ended. read more

There are very few camp options available for teens. I was happy to see that Kidventure offered their Leads program. My son attended the camp at St. Marks in the Museum District. We could not have been happier. The counselors were friendly and attentive. The activities were age appropriate and kept the kids busy for the entire day. Unfortunately, their community service project was cancelled due to rain. He loved the field trip to Moody Gardens. I will definetely send him back next year. I have to agree that wearing the same shirt every day was a hassle. Not that doing daily laundry is a bad thing! read more
