As our daughter moved to the preschool and pre-k we realized our need for private kindergarten. We discovered that the Goddard School is the only accredited school in the area. This adds to all the amazing academics that made us continue to choose Goddard Schools over daycares in the area. We love that we have seen the consistency in the staff, many of them have been here since before we started three years ago. We highly recommend the Goddard School of Leesburg.

When Kiddie Academy closed due to landlord issues, we followed Hasna and her team without any hesitation. During the transition, I met with Madhu (owner) a few times and she was welcoming, understanding, and compassionate about the abrupt changes. My daughter is in the Panda class with Shannon and Gana. Shannon is one of the warmest souls I've met. Gana, who was part of the KA staff, cares for my daughter in such a way that my L recognizes it, and always goes to her at drop off, and is sitting on her lap at pick up! There is a strong emphasis on learning- but learning through play. Physical movement, art skills, sharing, books, dramatic play. I'm at such great peace leaving my daughter in the care of this wonderful staff!

Over 5 years later with that baby in kindergarten, I can say with confidence that Everbrook is all that and more. Angela, the principal, is one of best early childhood educators out there. She's put together an amazing team, and they support both you and your child (ren) through every stage. I have consulted Angie and her staff on how best to help my kiddo through everything from potty training and sleep regressions to reward systems. My kiddo (and the entire Junior Kindergarten class) graduated into Kindergarten not only with all the skills they needed to succeed in Kindergarten, but also understanding phonics and able to read simple books! Now part of LCPS, we are thrilled to continue at Everbrook as part of the School Age offerings and summer camp. I cannot reccomend Angela, her team, and Everbrook strongly enough.

From day one they were supportive, understanding, and made it an easy transition. Two years later, it is obvious that the entire staff cares deeply for each and every student. It feels like they are family!! I really can't say enough good things about the staff. Our son's teachers have been amazing and I feel as though they truly care about my child, continually encouraging his learning and development. Even as we have moved up in classrooms, his former teachers still check in with him and want to see how he is doing. They clearly love what they do and being with the children. I don't know how they do it, but Sharon and Monica at the front desk know the names of every single parent and child. It is seriously impressive, and shows their dedication and love of working with the children. The entire staff is wonderful!! The building is very secure, and the classrooms are kept immaculately clean on a daily basis. The hours are great for those with long work days. They provide food and a weekly menu that looks very nutritious and diversified. They have a chef on staff that cooks the meals right in the building. Not only does this save us time, it reduces food envy among the kids, and makes our days a ton easier. They also adapt easily for kids with allergies. What I love most is that they have a curriculum for every classroom. I have heard many parents say that infants don't need a curriculum, but at 2 we can see a clear difference in our son's learning vs. others his age. He learned sign language, English, and Spanish simultaneously! And without prompting he surprised us and counted to 10...he isn't even 2 years old yet!!! We are continuously amazed at how much he learns every day. It is clear that they have done thorough research into academic learning theories and methodologies and have combined the best of all of them into one great curriculum that works!!! I have no doubt that we are setting our son up for a lifetime of learning because of how they approach childhood cognitive development. Primrose uses Tadpoles to send photos and daily reports, which keeps us very in tune with his daily lessons. We get weekly reports on what they are learning and tips of how parents can integrate the lesson plans at home to continue the learning. We love the photos and videos that we get every day. It's also nice to join a community of like-minded families. Our kids are in mid-late elementary school and we still use Spring-Mar phrases like "walking feet!" (walk, don't run) with them.

In our case, we got one last spot for our 2 month old daughter (then) and she started the school the following week. I remember first walking into the school and taking the tour appreciating its beautiful building, playground and classes. During our tour, an older kid walked into the office and gave a hug to one of the directors. It was such a great sign. Not only that kid loved the school, teachers but also directors in the front office. Since 2017, Goddard school in Herndon has been a part of our life. My older one graduated from Goddard school in 2022. She always had amazing teachers around her who not only cared for her but also loved her. Even today when we go to pick up our younger daughter, our older daughter still hugs those teachers (many of them are still here which is so unique for the school). I should mention my daughter had Ms. Padmini as a teacher who is a Computer Engineer turned to educator. One morning, when I was dropping my daughter off, I heard Ms. Padmini teaching signs using alpha, beta, delta. Now, Ms. Padmini designs the curriculum for the entire school. The kids are in great hands with her. They are truly getting STEAM focused education. Ms. Marilynn has been a caring, energetic and wonderful administrator. Last winter, one evening my car just would not start because of battery issues. Ms. Marilynn stayed with us until my husband arrived to make sure we were okay. I don't know a whole lot of people who would do this but having her in this school has given me comfort that my daughters are in a caring place. Ms. Abha has been excellent owner of this school. As a former preschool teacher herself, she brings a wealth of experience. She has brought very practical changes/enhancements to the school. It is no wonder that school gets voted to be the one of the best schools in this area. I would highly recommend this school. Thanks to the amazing education at this school, my kids turned social, friendly, and confident. They look forward to going to their respective schools and are progressing by leaps and bounds. What else can one parent ask for!

This administration team has also demonstrated they apply a high standard to their teachers in hiring, as I observe new trial-period classroom aides either growing into a permanent position or being asked to depart ways because the person was not the right fit. The result is a team of incredible teachers! When my daughter had a difficult time transitioning to her new 2 year old classroom, it felt as if every teacher in the building was aware and working to help her through the emotional journey - teachers from other classrooms stopping me in the hallway to ask how she's been doing. For me, it is a difficult decision to not be the primary caretaker for my daughter. The Goddard School of Herndon team understands that and seems to me that they operate knowing they are taking care of the most important thing to me - my kid.

We unfortunately had a disappointing experience with Karter School's summer camp (One Loudoun) that…read moreI think is important for other parents to be aware of. During camp, our six-year-old was involved in an incident with another child that resulted in him hitting his head against a window. We completely understand that incidents between children can happen, and our concern was never simply that the incident occurred. Our concern was how it was handled afterward. We were not contacted by phone when the head injury occurred and instead received a brief app message much later in the day, shortly before pickup. Given his age and the fact that it involved his head, we felt strongly that we should have been notified promptly so we could understand what happened, how he was assessed, and make decisions about his care. After we raised our concerns, Karter Schools conducted an investigation and acknowledged that aspects of the situation and communication could have been handled better. But because our son no longer felt comfortable returning for the final day of camp, they also agreed to refund us for that day. Unfortunately, more than a month later, we still have not received the promised refund. We have followed up three separate times and have not received a response or update. This is extremely frustrating given our original complaint was about lack of communication and now they are continuing to display that again. I'm sharing this not because we expect children's programs to prevent every incident, but because communication and follow-through matter tremendously when parents are trusting an organization with their children. We appreciated that our initial concerns were investigated and acknowledged (after pushing back on it), but the lack of follow-through since then has added to what was already a disappointing experience.

I have watched [my child] in the app and my heart is filled with warm fuzzies. Ms. Helen and Ms. Wei are rocking the classroom! The children are so engaged! And they are doing so many things! What I am seeing in the app, without even exchanging words, is evidence that [my child] is receiving exactly the care and learning opportunities and adventures that I anticipated when I toured with Ms. Sabrina and opted to switch to this school! The main factors that drew me to Karter was the opportunity for [my child] to move around, not be stuck in one classroom all day and the varying enrichments to keep engaged. THIS is THAT and I LOVE it!! (Lots of exclamation marks, people!) I am very pleased with the situation; Ms. Stephanie is incredible and firm and loving; I have no complaints whatsoever! I have never felt more comfortable leaving my kids in the care of all of the amazing staff here. They are truly like one big family and they make all of their students feel part of that family. There is virtually no staff turnover which is unheard of at daycares. Lindsey (the director) is so amazing at her job she really does care for each and every student and parent. The communication on a day to day basis is great you can always message the teachers and check in at any time alongside receiving pictures/activity updates. I also wanted to mention the summer camp for K and older was an amazingly run program from the camp staff to the activities- they went on so many field trips and my son had the time of his life. So if you are looking for daycare, private K, or an afterschool program- GPA is by far the best choice!!!
