She made lots of new friends. They allowed us to do a bit of customization (paint) in her apartment to make it feel more like her home. She actually lived in 3 different apartments throughout her time there. Sadly, she passed away last week. The team at Eastgate showed genuine concerned for our mother. They upgraded her services when something was needed to allow her to continue living in her own place versus moving to a skilled nursing facility. We really appreciated that! Mom loved her caregivers & I think they loved her back. It may not be the fanciest place in town, but I'll take care & concern over a showy exterior every day of the week.

We need a 0 star rating for places like this. My mother had to go here for occupational and…read morephysical therapy after a hospital stay. Not only did they pretty much push us out the door when medicare issued a discharge, but the nurse taking care of her lied to me about my mother's condition which landed her right back in the hospital the next day. They had her on 2 different laxatives which forced them to keep her in diapers and it ended up having her dehydrated. DO NOT take a loved one here unless it is a last resort. They will not give good care and will do whatever they can to make their job easier.

The SEM Community and especially the Haven have been a godsend to our family and parent. After my…read moreparent left the hospital, Sem Haven Rehab center took great care getting them back up on their feet and walking again. It was determined that my parent was in the beginning stage of dementia, so we have decided to keep our parent there, so they are safe, properly medicated, and cared for. I believe the SEM community is suffering through COVID like most care centers across the US. I am happy they keep our family posted on the number of cases and are doing their best to stay fully staffed.

Unfortunately the staff is not fully vaccinated and Covid has run rampant among the staff. Which resulted in my sweet mother's death. Yes, the un vaccinated staff killed her. Mom had a will to live but Covid was too much. Also due to the Covid dancing among the staff they were severely short staffed. We pulled our mom out after realizing they had only 2 staff members on shift for 15? Memory care patients? Disgraceful. I hope on judgement day those unvaccinated staff members see who they killed, a sweet, kind, gentle, vaccinated woman who had more life left in her. You should all be ashamed.

My mother has been at Arden Courts of Anderson for close to 5-1/2 years. Honestly, there were some…read moremajor issues there a year ago which you may have heard about (or others may have commented about), but the new staff have turned the place back around to the quality facility it had always been. The caregivers there are extremely kind and attentive to the residents. The daily activities are structured and varied, and the activities staff encourage the residents to participate. The facility itself is always clean, has recently been refurbished, and the layout with 4 individual dining and living room areas make for a more home-like atmosphere. Food is prepared fresh daily on-site. The staff is also very supportive of the family members who are dealing with the hardships of a loved one with dementia. Living 300 miles away (with no other family in the area), I rest easily knowing my mother is in good hands. Actually the reason I have not moved her closer is that she is so very content there, plus I know I could not find as caring and as nice of a facility/staff (and I live in a large metropolitan area with numerous facilities). I highly recommend Arden Courts of Anderson if you have a family member in need of quality memory care.

Assisted Living: over-promise, under-deliver…read more Imagine going to a nice restaurant -marketed as the best in the city. U order a really nice steak for $300. After waiting for 30 min & no steak. U have to go find your waiter & ask. They apologize & say they are short staffed- it will be out soon. Eventually u get the steak-but it has a chunk cut out of it & is only 3/4 the steak u ordered. U ask the waiter. He says "yeah, the beef supply chains are messed up. We had to reduce portions to be able to serve all our guests." No apology. No reduced price. No simply serving less guests. U r expected to pay full price for a 3/4 steak. Then the guest one table over says "it's not perfect, but it's the best in town. The place down the street is only giving people 1/2 steaks"
