I have benefited from other hospice organizations for other family members and after experiencing QCH I will ALWAYS choose them from now on!! Here is why... I wanted in-HOME care for my mother who had lung cancer that spread to the brain. She was a smoker of 53 years. In the past, we had used another hospice company with in-FACILITY care for my father who had oral cancer, lost his jaw, and was bleeding consistently from his trachea implant. This in-FACILITY care was good. When we used the same company for in-HOME care for my mother, the care was less than desirable. That was when I realized that Queen City Hospice was a true GEM!!! All elder care IS NOT equal!!! While the other facility had visited our home in the days beforehand, I still did not have the needed equipment or actual physical support. On a surprise Saturday morning, my mother drastically declined, falling while trying to walk. As I was trying to help my mother get up to a safe place and tending to my 2 year old son screaming at my leg, I called the our original hospice in a panic, needing serious help from an aid. I was told that aids do not work on the weekend. I wish I had known this point and understood what that really meant in practice, not just theory. The reality meant- I was totally on my own for the weekends, including the soon emerging emergency on my hands. Luckily, a neighbor recommended Queen City Hospice, I called, and without delay they came to the rescue!! Within hours of a phone call we had transferred hospice centers, we had oxygen, a hospital bed, bedside commode, medicine, a nebulizer, and 24 hour--round-the-clock care so I could rest amongst other benefits. The QCH nurses and staff were AMAZING!!! It was like having family here in a strange city. They were there to listen when I needed to talk, and stayed out of the way when I did not. Everyone was super experienced and knowledgeable. I have never experienced such love, concern, care, and beautiful compassion like I did from Paul and his team. My mother died in my arms 48 hours later. Thankfully the nurse at the bedside prepped me for everything that was happening. I really felt she passed without pain and in peace like she always wanted. For a brief moment, neither one of us felt fear and we were able to focus on our bond, our relationship, all because of the incredible care of Queen City Hospice!

She is everything you want a doctor to be - brilliant, warm, caring, and knowledgeable. Her staff are kind as well - literally was so gentle giving my son a shot that he didn't flinch. I seriously love her office and the staff - they are so encouraging. I leave the office with great tips and feeling really good (which is a lot to say from someone that literally struggles with the medical field). It never feels like it's a corporate thing, a pharmaceutical treasure chest, or a 15 min. and gotta go Factory.

Before she was admitted into the facility, our family was given a tour around the facility, and we were show around, and encourage to ask any questions or concerns we had. They provide great therapy for all patient's ,and they have lots of activities for the residents to attend throughout the day, so they can interact and get to make friends with the other residents and staff. They ate constantly moving in and out of the patients room, helping them to get wash up and making sure they are clean and comfortable. For people like my mom , who can't hardly see, the nurses and the aids come into the room, and help feed them, and get them up to go to the bathroom, and they even dial my mom's phone for her to talk to her family members, because she can hardly see to dial the phone for herself. To bring in the New Year, they gave all the residents a New Year's Eve Party, and all the people got large bags of gifts and snacks. The place has always been clean and fresh every time I was there. I just wanted to thank the caring and loving staff of Pleasant Ridge Health Care Center.

Instead, I get an angry telephone call in which the provider stated, "WHERE IS MY MONEY"??. I asked if she had billed my insurance and after calling my insurance company, I then verified that she hadn't even billed my insurance. Then, I had an appointment, and she cancelled it without my knowledge or of informing me that she was cancelling it. I sent her a message to ask about the appointment and she stated, "I cancelled your appointment because you have an unpaid balance of $xxx.xx." This message was sent on August 10th of this year. On August 14th of this year, I was sent a letter in the mail letting me know she was dropping me from the practice for not keeping appointments (that she cancelled....) and an unpaid balance. She gave me four days to pay her in full and cancelled my appointment. She stated she sent prescriptions to the pharmacy so I wouldn't go without until I found a new provider but she left out certain medications. She seems great at first until you realize she's only in it for money. I recommend staying away from Asaya Healthcare entirely.

She is quick to rush you out the door & limits the amount of health complaints you can talk to her about during your visit. She told me the clinic only allows her to spend 7-10 minutes per patient & spends most of this time typing in her laptop so be prepared for her to walk out of the room when your time is up! Lately she is not really concerned with patient care. She does no research when it comes to helping a patient that is not doing well & she simply tries multiple medications until she can hopefully guess which one may or may not help you feel better. She looks tired & frustrated & this comes across with her lack of compassion & NASTY attitude towards the staff & patients. You can hear her yelling at her staff routinely when she is upset. I believe she has forgotten that without a loyal staff she could not be successful at helping patients improve their health.. Don't bother calling the triage nurse over the phone if you need a refill; it takes more than a week for the office to get back to you or your pharmacy but they will try to get you to come in for more visits to get your refills which most doctors will do over the phone when they call your pharmacy. Stay away from this clinic! The nasty attitude of this doctor has confirmed to me that she is not happy with her job but that is no reason for her to take it out on her staff & patients. Doctor Weatherington either quit your job & move on or think back to why you became a Doctor way back during your younger days. I am sure you have lost your way & pray you find it again. If not just retire... you are done!
