I was surprised to have super legit creamy eggs Benedict, made with quality ingredients and love at the airport! Love it.

We ordered a big breakfast with extra bacon instead of toast and the salt n pepper calamari with tartare alternative, tomato sauce. The food arrived very quickly, the kitchen staff maki up for the bar staff. Breakfast was hot and tasty, we discovered they had charged us without saying for the bread bacon swap. Eggs bacon and sausages were great, hash brown was a let down. Calamari was grease free but slightly under. I probably would return here unless I was just thirsty.

They had a friendly manner and the order came out shortly after. I ordered one of my favourite,( amongst a few other hot beverages) ,cappuccino and a Farmers breakfast. This is bacon , venison sausages , potato cake , toast , tomato and eggs done how you like. I chose poached. It was one of the best poached eggs I have had and the whole meal was pretty good. I have eaten the same here before and it was good then so is good to see it has kept the same standard, at least when it comes to this meal. The price is a tiny bit high but I would expect that of a place in the airport. Will have to try one day come here to see how it is at a later time of day. See if the service and food is as good then. All in all I think a good place to grab a bite before going on a flight , to watch the world go by ( literally ) , or wait for someone to come off a flight. This time I had to settle for the latter case.....but not too long and I will be experiencing the first..

It's a fairly new establishment in the area, but it's become a regular hangout for a few beers and very good food. You definitely feel the '80's vibe when you're there, and its always nice to see a little appreciation for that era. Their pizzas are delicious, particularly 'Rangi's Hangi' and 'Larry the Lamb'. They do a very nice caesar salad and my favourite main has to be the crispy chicken burger with aioli and melted brie- one of the best restaurant burgers I've had. They've got a good range of ciders and do a few cocktails to quench your thirst. They also serve most of their drinks in 600mL milk bottles, which is a really cool touch. I'd have to say that Nineteen Eighty One is best known for their fortnightly Wednesday quiz nights. The place gets packed and its always a good laugh- there's even a prize for the team that comes second to last.

I really enjoyed the stuffed chicken too. The decor brought back lots of memories.

Unfortunately, the individual items were TINY - calamari, for example, were little nuggets (looked like popcorn shrimp/chicken). Dipping sauces were also in TINY plastic, sample cups (no bigger than a quarter). Flavors were all a bit bland. There is also a separate kids area with some toys and a TV playing cartoons. I was plenty satisfied with the food, especially an Indian rice thing that really hit the spot. There isn't a manned bar, I don't think, but there's a section with bottled & canned drinks that you can just take. (Definitely don't try to smuggle them out, though.) There are showers! The restrooms stalls (some if not all... definitely the two that I observed) have showers in each stall, they looked very nice. Very glad this was available to me with my Priority Pass membership!

One issue is that you can't see how crowded it is until you're inside, in short pay first, know what you're getting after the fact. When we were there, it wasn't particularly busy, and it was a good way to get something to eat before a long trans-Pacific flight. The chairs were comfortable, the hot food limited but reasonably good, the deserts tasty and plentiful. As for the staff, they seemed a bit overworked, scrambling to keep up, but maybe at busier times they have more people? I don't know. The shower and rest room situation was a little odd, but workable - just kind of limited in capacity.
