This was actually pretty great. Large and busy, but there was at least one room dedicated as a quiet room, plus plenty of other comfortable corners. There is also a separate kids area with some toys and a TV playing cartoons. I was plenty satisfied with the food, especially an Indian rice thing that really hit the spot. There isn't a manned bar, I don't think, but there's a section with bottled & canned drinks that you can just take. (Definitely don't try to smuggle them out, though.) There are showers! The restrooms stalls (some if not all... definitely the two that I observed) have showers in each stall, they looked very nice. Very glad this was available to me with my Priority Pass membership! read more

We had free admission associated with our flights - If you didn't not sure this would be worth the price of admission. One issue is that you can't see how crowded it is until you're inside, in short pay first, know what you're getting after the fact. When we were there, it wasn't particularly busy, and it was a good way to get something to eat before a long trans-Pacific flight. The chairs were comfortable, the hot food limited but reasonably good, the deserts tasty and plentiful. As for the staff, they seemed a bit overworked, scrambling to keep up, but maybe at busier times they have more people? I don't know. Great way to spend 4 hours in an airport. Priority pass lounge. Lots of buffet style food options and other snacks. I wasn't really hungry. Just needed a place to hang for a while because my flight home wasn't until 1130pm and hotel checkout was at 10am. Got to the airport around 6pm. Lots of drink offerings, I mostly just stuck to the unlimited ginger ale. Lots of chairs & desk setups for you to plug in or just tune out. They had a rugby game on which I liked. Strata is fabulous lounge at the Auckland airport. It's quiet, clean, has WiFi, and offers a variety of foods and beverages. It's located on the second floor alongside other lounges, so it's easy to find. Check-in was quick. There was plenty of seating throughout, with tables and chairs in a thoughtful arrangement. I liked that the seats aren't bunched in together and you don't have to be packed face to face. Food was placed in the center island. The hot food options the day I visited were decent. I mean, it's not gourmet necessarily but better than airport retail, I think. There were plenty of vegetables and snacks as well. Cookies, crackers, other stuff I can't remember. Sodas, juices, alcohol. Staff was constantly cleaning and picking up stuff. The showers were a nice touch if you are transiting after a long flight. My wife and I were on vacation in Auckland and through American Express, we had access to the Strata Lounge. There was a nice buffet with possibly the best bread ever with these seeds on top with the inside, super chewy and just the right crust. They had a beer fridge with about 4 options, plus a cider. I liked it, I got a lot of meats and cheeses for a great lunch and there was a cricket game playing on the TV. The service was great, I would have liked to have some not crazy rich breakfast/lunch items. Maybe some grilled chicken strips for fajitas or some scrambled eggs? Nice airport lounge. read more

One of the nicest airport lounges I've been to! I had access through my Priority Pass, but you can also walk-in at cash rates. They had a ton of food and drink options! This included hot foods, sandwiches, salads, scones/breads, cheese and meats, dessert, and even candy. And don't forget the self-serve beer, wine, and liquor in the back! Have a food allergy? Let them know, and they'll send the cook out to show you what you can eat on the buffet! Wished we could've stayed longer! Honestly, this is the best airport lounge I've ever been to - and I have been to a ton of the in the US. Many Indian dishes including an incredible beef or goat curry and a spiced, garbanzo bean and carrot salad. Wine is self serve which is the first time I've ever experienced such a thing. They carried local New Zealand wines. I have Coeliac diaease and the staff helped me pick out things that were safe for me to eat. Each bathroom has its own shower stall and they are very spacious. Overall, this is a comfortable lounge with delicious food. It is a must visit if travelling through Auckland. Visited February 2023. read more

My husband had access to this airport lounge through our priority pass. Our priority pass is through our American express credit card. Lounges usually allow one gues but this lounge allow 2 guests access. The front desk attendant was helpful and reminded us about our boarding time. She also mentioned that there is a 3 hour limit at staying at the lounge. We are only expecting to stay for about 2 hours. We arrived here at around 11am. Staff members are just starting to prepare and set up for lunch. I love this lounge because it serves hot food. They had gluten free chicken, some soup, white rice, cous cous, salads and deserts. The place was quiet and clean. It wasn't crowded at all. However, I do not see that they have a lot of outlets for charging. They have an open bar. You can serve yourself for wine, sodas or mixed drinks. read more

On way to Fiji and gained access via first class, however a day pass can be purchased to gain entry. Conveniently located right after duty free across from the Sunglasses Hut at the top of the escalator to the left. The facility is clean and the staff is very attentive cleaning up empties and restocking the food and drinks areas. Out flight was right after noon so they were serving breakfast and then switched over to lunch. Breakfast was typical scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, baked beans , hash brown and a selection of deserts, salads and fruit and for lunch they served nachos with all the fixings. They also had an extensive selection of complimentary liqueur, beer and wines. Overall a very good lounge experience. read more

To echo prior reviews, the Strata Lounge is an absolute oasis. I was a little concerned with there being only one Priority Pass lounge option at Auckland International Airport. In contrast with my inbound flight from Melbourne, Australia, with four or five lounge options, none of which seemed great and included a (very) disappointing Amex Centurion lounge. Anyway, with only one Priority lounge I figured it would be crowded -- it was not. We nearly had the place to ourselves at 8am. The ambiance, is not particularly fancy, but is calming and quiet, with light music playing in the background. A good place to spend some time away from the bustle of the main terminal. It being morning, breakfast was on offer. The selection of food was robust, with a number of protein and carb options, including hot and cold food, yogurt, fruit, etc. The selection would rival most mid-range hotel buffets. I think the food itself was a little disappointing, but I can't fault it. Service is very fast, with attendants quickly removing plates once finished. Also because it was morning, I didn't indulge in the alcohol selections. The bar is self-service which has basic selections of spirits and multiple local wine and beer options. Seemed decent enough as long as you're not looking for decent single-malt whisky. Things that could improve the lounge: a proper coffee machine and barista. The self-service coffee stations get the job done, but it's always nice having a professionally-crafted morning wake-up. That's a minor complaint, though. This lounge is solid. read more

Be careful booking into the Strata Lounge. I booked four people for December 21, 2024. After a stressful check-in with Hawaiian Airlines for a flight to Honolulu, I realized we would not be able to use our booking at the Strata Lounge. I explained our situation and was told they could not refund our booking at the Lounge, but I would have to do it online. I was led to believe I could receive a refund because of the situation. The woman in line of me was told the same thing. When I asked for a refund online, I was told I was not eligible. I believe the Manager used this technique to get rid of us. read more

The front desk was inhospitable, cold and bureaucratic. But once you get past that you find really excellent food and drinks, clean bathrooms and showers. It was roomy and I crowded and a nice respite for the wait although I left early because there were some incredible high end duty free shops! Go figure. read more

My husband and I had a 4-hour layover at the Auckland International Airport before returning home...so what greater way to spend that time in the Strata Lounge! Upon reaching the entrance, I was impressed with how pretty the lobby looked. The clear glass sliding doors were nice and clean, and the feels had an enchanted vibe around the windows and walls. The lounge was super spacious! After checking in, you came upon a window looking into the kitchen, they had counters filled with lots of food options, another counter with soft drinks and coffee, a counter filled with hard liquor, beers, wine and bar snacks, and lots of space for the seating area. They also had a section for the kiddies that had toys and a tv. And you can't forget about the free wifi the lounge provides! The staff here was friendly. I loved the food options they had. They had a range of hearty food, pastries, cheese and crackers, salads, sandwiches and dessert. The staff was great to also keep the food replenished at all times. And their bar had top-notch selections. I liked that they had a lot of New Zealand wine and beers to choose from. It gave us a last-minute chance to enjoy the countries drinks before departing back to our country *tear* Regardless if you have a Priority Pass or paid to enter, it's worth every penny! read more

Pretty nice for a 3rd party lounge. Full bar offered and the food was quite extensive. Your not going to find 5 star eats but considering what's offered both pre and post security, this isn't a bad deal. It's very large and there is a variety of seating. While I didn't explore it all, I think there are showers on offer. First rate for such a small airport. read more

If you have priority pass and have the option to visit, don't miss hanging out here vs next to the gate. They have great food choices ranging from Thai pork, mince pie, veggies to desserts. Pretty nice Priority Pass lounge! Must be worlds better than when Brad B. went in 2015. We arrived without having a proper breakfast first and were pretty pleased with the food offerings. Some noodles, some sushi, cheese, bread. I don't remember all that we had but there was plenty to pick from, and it was well above the food offerings at most Priority Pass lounges. Coffee machine made an acceptable latte. Wifi worked well. Shower rooms looked great, made me debate taking a shower. Staff was friendly, too, taking a photo for us. I wish all Priority Pass lounges were as good as this one! read more

Excellent lounge! This is probably my favorite lounge I've had access to through the Priority Pass card. The food was hands down the best lounge food I've come across, as both the gnocchi and rigatoni with rabbit were very tasty. The bar is self serve and had plenty of options. Several red wines, several white wines, sparkling wine, a cooler with ~5 types of beer, soda, and a nice selection of spirits including Jim Beam. The only negative is that the whole lounge is pretty open, so if you're looking for somewhere super quiet this might not be your best option. read more

10/10 one of the better airport lounges I have had the pleasure to spend some time in. Especially for Priority Pass. Conveniently located, warm and friendly staff, speedy wifi, comfy seating, fantastic food selection and decent alcohol options. The lounge has the cutest kids play area - within a glass bubble in the corner, a large TV and bean bags. I wish they create a similar play area for sleepy adults too! The food included two kinds of pasta, lots of steamed and stir-fried veges, mini pies and quiches, four different salads, cheeses and olives, and about 4 dessert options. My first time using my Priority Pass was at Strata yesterday (??? - the time difference is throwing me off). Anyhow, I was there in the early afternoon and was pleased by how spacious and clean the facilities were. First thing I did was use the shower facilities. Nothing extraordinary but there are plenty of shelves to keep your belongings in and the water pressure was spot on. I believe there are four shower rooms - two "male" and two "female" rooms - and there is towel service. The food selection was pretty decent. Nice variety of healthy and hearty eats, with vegan and gluten-free items for those who are so inclined. I am not such a person and had my hand in the lamb pie, some noodles, cheese, and the rice pudding. All very tasty. The coffee machine brewed a fairly decent latte. Self-service bar with beers and red wine from what I saw. Plenty of outlets everywhere. There are several screens that you can keep track of your flights on. Overall, really good first impression as a newbie to this luxe travel perk. Only wish I had gotten to the airport earlier so I could indulge a bit longer. read more

This is the only lounge at the airport that allows day passes -$55 for 3 hours or you can stay for 8 hours for extra costs. Spacious, lots of lounging areas and pretty much all the standard breakfast or lunch fair you'd see at a food bar with booze. The only criticism is the lighting is absolutely atrocious. Super bright, very in your face. Not great for sleeping, feels like you're at work or a library doing research. It'd be great if there were different lighting sections or more muted lights all around. read more

Formerly the Emperor Lounge, this lounge was fully redone in September 2017. It's an airy, open-plan lounge, but a minimalist modern decor which makes it a bit sterile. Showers are spacious. Best part: Food is very high quality and fresh. Unsually good spread of spirits. Worst part: Bland decor and no windows give it a cave-like feeling. Cleanliness: spotless, tables cleared promptly Noise: very quiet. no music and they have a no-announcement policy Food: Good variety of hot dishes, salads and sweets. Quality of food is very good; plenty of vegetarian options. Kitchen closes at 10pm but there's plenty of food left until 1am closing. Water: filtered only, no bottled water Non-alcoholic drinks: good spread of juice and soda. I really wonder if some of these other reviewers are actually reviewing the Koru Lounge. The Air NZ international Koru lounge is brilliant. Luxurious, with cocktails, baristas, chefs and a great selection of food and drinks. Unfortunately the last two times I flew to New Zealand the Koru lounge was overcrowded and I was bumped down into the tired old Strata lounge. This used to be the Koru lounge before they built the new one. The Strata lounge is just sad. The food selection is very poor. A few luke-warm pastries and and a couple of heating serving dishes that are jammed close together on a narrow island. When I opened one of the lids, it banged into the lid on the opposite side, slamming it shut and knocking a plate out of the hands of the poor man on the other side, which shattered all over the floor. The wine selection was ok, nice wines, but a very limited selection. The toilet area was very tired. The walls needed painting badly. There are no boarding calls in the Strata lounge either. Basically Strata is a very poor alternative to the Koru Club. As someone who has paid for membership to the Koru Club, I am not happy to be shunted off elsewhere. read more

This lounge has horrendous management that treats their customers poorly and unfairly. Multiple people were watching the World Series on the lounge TVs when someone came in and asked that the channel be changed to a rugby match. Rather than asking anyone if they were watching the game, they just changed it for the new customer. When we asked them to change it back, they said they needed "permission" from the person who came in AFTER us. They need a lesson in customer service and I will not be using a Strata lounge ever again. read more
