In the past, we would sit outside on the deck to admire the land and dine at the (former) restaurant. Word on the block is that a new restaurant is in the works as of July 2025 which is exciting! Flash forward to present day, I am finally into golf and got to play 18-holes. On one of the holes we had a deer visit us which was so majestical! I adore the fresh greenery and wilderness here. Note: the back 9 is very difficult. Maybe plan for some balls to go in the water? My grandpa turned 103 this year and we celebrated by him making it through about 5-holes. Go, grandpa!! In addition, we also celebrated his 100th here a few years back outside with food catered in from the golf course. My family adores the close proximity to our cabin, the friendly staff, clean facilities and the great prices. I look forward to many more visits. Thank you!!

Since her day is during Thanksgiving week we went ahead and did it on Black Friday at Skate City. We had a great time. There certainly is some nostalgia factor built in with being able to relive some of my childhood memories with my own kids. It is not just rose colored glasses though, the new owners seem to have updated everything so it is not run-down like it was 15 years ago, but still keeps its charm. The staff went out of their way to make sure my daughter had a great time and our family felt incredibly welcome. The younger kids really appreciated the "skate mate" that allowed them learn to skate without falling down as much. The whole birthday package was incredible, particularly with price comparison with similar options for a place like chuck-e-cheese where we live. Make sure you check out their website for deals and hours. They appear to add more options based on local school schedules.

It has a play zone for the little kids, some arcade games that you can play to win tickets, a snack shop, and the rink. It also has lots of seating for spectators. Skating was fun, and I love all the different special skates and games, but after making 3 song requests, we realized that they do not take requests. They also played the Big Guy song by Ice Spice, which was just annoying. Also there was this 14 year old boy and his girlfriend getting very physical. It was very uncomfortable for us, and even though the employees saw it, they said nothing. We ended up needing to go over to them and tell them to break it up. Ive been coming here since I was a little kid, and never experienced something quite like this. But, over all I would recommend Skate City for families and anyone who likes to skate or play arcade games, especially because admission is so affordable.

The sites are extremely spacious and well set up as the owner is also a coach owner. The grounds are immaculate and they host music evert Tuesday night that includes catered food from local vendors. The hosts are so friendly and helpful. During our stay we went to a small town festival and a local county fair. The owners are continually working on improvements on this new campground. If you are traveling through the Rice Lake area this is definitely a resort to stay at. You are not treated as a customer at this resort but truly as a guest. We will definitely be back.

I will never recommend this place to anyone. Below is the Polaris Review I wrote the day after we returned the machine. I paid $780 for a two day rental and had to pay an additional $150 for "cleaning" services! I would've rather paid $1000 for the two day rental so I wouldn't have had to put up with the owners ridiculous customer service. When I returned the machine, I was treated with disrespect, talked down to, belittled and embarrassed in front of my 16yr old daughter who was visiting from Alabama during her summer vacation. It was the most embarrassing experience I have ever went through with my daughter. Using scare tactics and sending me text messages about contract information after I returned the machine it is not something anyone would enjoy. My daughter and I enjoyed our two day rental and it was completely ruined when we returned the machine. We had a blast riding the ATV Washburn County trails. We used the machine properly and safely the entire weekend and had no issues. We are not pavement pounders and used this machine for what it was built for. During the two days we had the machine we rode over 160 miles of backcountry ATV trails. Considering it's been raining for the past three months in northern Wisconsin, the trails were not dry or dusty. Every corner was full of water and ever low spot had some mud in it. If you rent these machines, you should know what the trails look like, and how they constantly change due to weather conditions. During our Saturday ride, it poured down rain three separate times. We didn't stop, we had a blast, we got soaking wet, and enjoyed spending time together in this machine. The owner of this establishment treated us with such disrespect and arrogance when we returned it and ruined our entire weekend. I could not believe the bullish and entitlement which came out of the owners mouth! The way my daughter and I were treated when we dropped the machine off was totally unacceptable. The first thing out of his mouth when I dropped the machine off on Sunday was, "you're the only person who doesn't know where to park", then he proceeded to say "this was the dirtiest machine he had ever seen". All the owner did was complain and talk about all the things he could do and check to see how we ruined the machine and how Polaris backs him with millions of dollars so there's nothing we can do about it. He never once asked us if we enjoyed our time, if anything went wrong or if we had fun. It was apparent to me the owner was enjoying making me feel like crap and belittling me in front of my daughter. I did not rent a Polaris XP1000 2-seater to drive around on the pavement. My daughter and I could've rode around in my truck if that's what we wanted to do. We rented this machine for two days so we could have fun and experience what the trails in northern Wisconsin had to offer. In two days we put on over 160 miles. As I mentioned, it had rained for the past two months in northern Wisconsin. The trails were full of water, mud, but not a speck of dust. If you ride these machines enough, you know how horrible it can be with severely dusty trails. My daughter always wore her helmet and we always wore our seatbelts. I have lived in Northern Wisconsin for most of my life and was raised in Washburn County. I know how to use this equipment and I'm an experienced driver. At the end of the day, my daughter loved every moment, was able to see some wonderful sights, and experience what I set out to accomplish on her summer vacation. The owner of this establishment ruined our entire weekend when we returned the machine and I'll never recommend this business to anyone.

I planned a hunt in October of 2022 and paid in advance with a deposit. I told the owner Tyler that…read moreit was a getaway trip for my wife and I, while I am out hunting she would relax in the lodge which I was promised is ONE HUNT AT A TIME and that we would be the only ones there. He purposely double booked the lodge and made the very expensive trip a nightmare experience for my wife and I. I did not feel comfortable leaving my wife at the lodge with the stranger and made Tyler aware of this and how we felt. The stranger left the next day but because of the double booking of the lodge I did not hunt the first day on what was supposed to be a mourning, and afternoon hunt so I lost two hunts and the morning of the last day I did get a nice deer but felt rushed because of the lost day. There was supposed to be a menu, there was not, we were served store bought pizza and on top of all of that he promised to score the deer and when I finally got the score that I kept bugging him for after returning home I showed it to a state scorer and he told me it was not done correctly which is how I paid for the deer. Tyler is very dishonest and made my first deer lodge hunt a disaster. Do not believe his lies and know that after that experience (no matter how diligent I was in my research) I will never hunt a place without knowing others experiences to validate if what is being marketed is actually true and factual. Beware of the lies.

They do charge for parking passes. We were prepared to pay $16 for our non- resident vehicle ( they do have the prices on their website). To our delight, since we were attending a family reunion at the only covered pavilion on the island, our parking was just $5! Plenty of parking, bathrooms aren't a far walk fe the pavilion (& they're clean!). Playground is adequate. The water area for play seemed a lot bigger when I was younger & attended reunions here. Water was calm but gorgeous!

Such a cool state park! The campsites almost all have water access so you can canoe or kayak right…read moreto your site! If you don't bring canoes or kayaks, you can rent some from the park office for a minimal fee. Highly recommend exploring the island from the water. Way cool. The campsites are all pretty flat (perfect for pitching tents) and all have fire pits with good moveable cooking grates. Both nights we were there had a good breeze so the bugs were non-existent which was amazing considering we camped right next to the water. The park also has several short well-maintained trails to explore . Will definitely be returning.
