In all fairness, I will say that the menu is exactly the same at the Anchor, not a 1/2 mile from here. They also have a similar story. Both opened in the 1600's. But, even if it is the same owners and meals, kudos to them for bringing history to the local diners.
It's worth walking through all of the rooms before picking your spot. The staff were greeting and friendly as you walk through. The menu is one page, but everything sounds good. And they give several vegan and vegetarian options. Their alcohol menu is more extensive than their food menu. They do have a patio option and opened 2nd floor area. But on this windy, cold and rainy day, we will eat downstairs, at the very back section, as not to feel a draft. read more
