The Spread Eagle is a few minutes walk from Camden tube station and in the opposite direction to the busier parts of the town. You probably won't have to fight off the crowds to reach the pub which is nice when you know you have no interest in the surrounding markets. The pub itself is nice to relax in. It was fairly lively but that has to be expected for a Sunday afternoon. Despite that we had no problem getting served within a reasonable time or finding a seat. The only other thing that I can really say about the pub itself is that it was just a good place to have a relaxing drink and talk with friends which is all you really want from a pub. It was large, spacious and generally just cosy, providing an escape from the world outside. Parking is available in Albert Road just outside the pub. It is a pay and display street but being out of the way of the main Camden attractions I found plenty of spaces available.

This was one of my favorite places. If I go back to a place almost every night, it deserves 5 stars. The staff remembers what I like to order, there is free, fast wifi and the food and drink is great! I love this place.

Quick pit stop for a drink after dinner and a walk around Primrose Hill. The Spread Eagle is a very pretty, pub - even the toilets look good. Shame the lighting is a bit too harsh ... I was lucky to have a lovely glass of wine bought for me - and parmesan cheese straws. Nice touch, makes a change from crisps and nuts (btw, I missed out on that dinner, just so that you know). Probably a good indication of the quality of their food. Overall, a bit too gentrified for me, though - may well default back to the Dublin Castle across the road.

Everynow and then I end up there for lunch, generally for a "treat yourself its Friday lunch"! Fish finger sandwich is a delicious! Very indulgent but delicious! Fries are thin and crispy... They also offer variety of healthier options - with quinoa salads for example... Price is a little inconsistent, fish finger sandwich for example is great value for money and reasonable for a lunch offering. But then your glass of wine is going to cost you the same... Decor is nice, they also have a few tables outside which is always a bonus if the weather is nice. Service is very friendly but very slow. For the hour lunch i know, i tend to have to wait 35/40mins for food which i will then now really have the tine to enjoy slowly... Obviouslt, this is nor an issue if you are not on a timw restriction.

My friends burger. Huge! Also very tasty

You will definitely NOT leave this place hungry! The serving size of each plate is massive. I recommend the Fish N Chips. They're very good and not too expensive. A great pub to stop in, if you can find a table.

Friendly pub. Good for a quick drink. Lots of tables dotted around the outside, always with pretty flowers or plant pots displayed on them. Good choice of lagers. Gets very busy being so close to Camden Town.

Nice little pub walking distance from Regent's Park with a friendly staff. My chicken sandwich was ok, more bread than anything else.

Remarkable, he scored and I literally walked around the corner and saw the long line to get into the pub first. I was seated immediately, however, and proceeded to enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast. Room was very pleasant (there are so many I got lost returning to my table from a bio brake. Roast was very good ( but no Lawry's) and the sides excellent. Could not decide if my favorite was the roast potatoes (crispy outside soft inside) or the glazed carrots. Yorkshire pudding was good but again, I am to used to the Lawry's and this is a different style. Peas were, well, peas, but very fresh. The sticky toffee cake was excellent and the Guinness fresh, creamy and a proper pour. Good thing because the selection of winners by the glass and half bottles of wine were both a little thin. Overall wine list was good but I was alone and not up for drinking a full bottle by myself. Overall, very enjoyable and to judge by the crowd and difficulty in getting a reservation, one of the more popular in town.

Two story space - the ground floor feature the bar and handles walk in lunch; the upstairs is a dining room for those with reservations. Fun fact, as part of the history, the pub used to be the host of bare knuckle fights and had regulars like Charles Dickens. Wildfarmed sourdough - served with whipped salted butter and Guinness butter. Well toasted bread and the butters with salt were well made. Fuller's London Pride marinated steak and ale pie - served with seasonal veggies and red wine gravy, as well as either mash potatoes or triple cooked chips. If there is one dish London does really well, it's their pies. It was beautifully made and loaded with steak. The red wine gravy was decadent and added a perfect amount of moisture to the pie. Triple cooked chips were perfectly crispy but fluffy on the inside. Corn fed chicken breast - served with garlic and sage butter, mash potato, cavolo nero, and crispy onions. Only took a bite of this as it was my partner's dish but the bite of chicken I had was very juicy and well seasoned.

You can't visit Central London without visiting a proper pub. And the Lamb & Flag is a proper pub…read morethat is worth a visit if you are taking a gander through Covent Garden. The bar itself has been known as the Lamb & Flag since 1833, but the property has been in existence going back to 1638, with it being a pub as early as 1772. The brickwork, as I discovered, is only a more recent buildout (1958). Being that I had researched online that the Lamb & Flag was one of the pubs to frequent, it was on my list to check out. Which we did on our second full day in London. I enjoyed a proper pint for the first time in a long time while my wife had her typical G&T. They were very appreciative that I paid in cash. The two drinks were 16 sterling, so I had no problem paying with a 20 note. Gave my credit card a breather. We grabbed some seats at a high-top table in the back of the pub at the tail end of the bar counter, where we enjoyed the come-as-you-are vibes and jovial chatter around us. A charming pub to enjoy a couple of drinks, and if you're hungry, upstairs serves a more bistro setting with a full menu of pub bites and main dishes.
