Fort Collins is a 10/10 for me. This is place I've visited almost every year since being a kid, and…read moreit continues to pull me towards it. Not only is this town big on their breweries (there are seriously so many unique, tasty ones here! Tour them! Try them all!), they have a ton of places for outdoor adventures. Horsetooth Reservoir is RIGHT there, and throughout the entire town there are separate trails that cross with other trails. My personal favorite is the Spring Creek Trail. Perfect for bike riding, running, or walking. There are volleyball and tennis courts along the trail, along with picnic spots, grills, community centers. If I lived here, I'd be biking everywhere. You could easily never need a car here. There are also very close options for river rafting, and kayaking (Which we've done in previous visits). Fort Collins has a perfect small-college-town vibe, and I would have LOVED to go to CSU. The downtown area is so walkable, and the food is amazing, the cafes are adorable, the art is fun. As soon as you set foot in FoCo, you can feel how much locals love their town. This place is an utter gem, and so close to my heart.

The front desk staff here are exceptional and I genuinely like each of them I've met. The food at the restaurant is very good overall. My favorite thing to order on the bar menu is the Brussels sprouts. Sweetened w honey. The rooms , especially the suites are amazing. Some have balconies. All rooms comes with an old school record player and records are scattered throughout the hotel. Best hotel in the area by far. Probably a top hotel even including Denver proper.

Super comfy bed and rooms (although some dating is showing) with a music vibe. Each room has its own record player and you can borrow vinyl. We took advantage! There is a restaurant and separate music club attached. The club had live music two of the nights we were there and it was fun. We also checked out the jazz/cocktail lounge on the 5th floor. Beautiful views of sunset over the mountains-okay martinis. Service was great, overall. Parking is in the garage right next door.

I stumbled upon it a few months back while looking for a place to have breakfast with my daughter (ended up at Silver Grill Cafe). After breakfast, we decided to wander around a bit and check out the area. The square is beautiful! In the middle, you'll find a stage that is home to a lot of live music in the evenings, and a fountain/splash pad for the kids (or adults and some dogs I've seen), to run and splash around. They have a piano for the public to play, a fountain to make wishes in, and some interesting local art. There is plenty of seating to sit and watch the kid's play or have a small bite to eat. The fountain/stage are surrounded by a large number of local boutique shops and delicious restaurants. A bonus, a Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop! It is a great area to spend a warm day. At Christmas, all of downtown and old town are lit up with thousands of lights in the trees, on the buildings, etc. It is absolutely stunning! Back to my earlier comment that it truly feels like a Hallmark Christmas movie. They set up Santa's workshop in the middle of the square for kiddo's to meet him, sit on his lap, and take photos. He was such a kind man and was wonderful with the kids. Right next to this, is a skating rink. This unfortunately was disappointing. It's not ice, it's some plastic stuff that is physically impossible to actually skate on. Honestly it felt like a lawsuit waiting to happen with how easy it was to fall. It was uncomfortable and not very fun, we only went two laps and gave up. It was free, so at least we didn't waste any money. It's great for "looks," but don't recommend it. Overall, this is truly one of my favorite places in Fort Collins and I love spending my days here with my daughter.
