They offer maple syrup, maple related products and some local goods and gifts. They have a theater you can learn about the process of maple syrup production and also a tasting so you can learn different types of maple syrup available and taste the difference. We walked around the premise and watch the video at the theater and shopped at the store for maple goods and maple syrups. At the end we got a small maple creemee to share. They also have a nice play area and seats outside so there were kids and family playing around. Service was good and it's nice that they let you try the maple syrups. For those that are new it's very interesting to learn about the difference in maple syrup available. Overall it's a great sugarhouse to stop by if you are in the area. I can see that this is a great place to go if you want to learn more about maple syrup as well. Its also family friendly.

It was definitely a learning experience, with a petting zoo full of different farm animals you can…read morepet. You can grab a ride on their trolley or you can hike it up to the farm on your own. We hiked our way up to the farm to catch the milking demonstration, very educational for youngsters. Staff at the farm were easy to talk to and kind to answering questions about the process of taking care of the animals on the farm. It was later in the day so we were catching mostly all the last parts of their demonstrations. If you don't mind a bit of a hike and the smell of the farm it's for you. I think it's worth an experience for younger generations for sure. Speaking of that, they also had an area in the chicken coop with toys to play with and books to read for young children. Growing up on a chicken farm helped me learn a lot about work ethic and how much we need farmers in our country the further we get into the future and have many rights of self-sustaining capabilities taken away from us through the government and big business push. I hoping for nothing but the best for their future and farm.

The grounds go down to Lake Champlain, including where the adjacent Inn and Flower Garden are. Some of the walking paths criss-cross the maple syrup tapping lines. Fun to see and pet their cows plus the big Farm Barn, where the independent organic O Bread Bakery* and Beeken/Parsons furniture maker both operate. (* See separate review.) Although our visit was on an early December Sunday, there's apparently more going on from Spring on and over Summer. Would recommend stopping by Shelburne Farms any time, especially great for kids!

We got some really great raw honey that was harvested the night before - great is an understatement, it was actually outstanding. We went through about 1/4 cup of it the first few days we got home. The produce was excellent as well - the best strawberries we had all summer in fact. We also grabbed a brushetta to go and that was eaten all too quickly. Would love to live in Vermont near this wonderful business. I hope it thrives because they have some really good quality offerings and like I said the woman who runs it was so sweet.

We got to learn how their syrup was made, and taste syrup in different forms of production (as well as different types of syrup that they produced). Was able to purchase 3-day fresh syrup to bring home. Would absolutely recommend for the experience, and especially to meet the amazing staff here!
