this place has bee traps set up all around the flowers that kill the bees. People were rude and constantly following us around .

We received a wonderful welcome from this family owned freaky fantasy shop in downtown Louisville!…read more It's pretty much any Halloween lover's dream store. There was room after room of costumes, props, decor, spooky animatronics, and more! And don't worry, if you're not local and are just visiting like we were, they are more than happy to ship things out to you. It's obvious that customer service is important to the owners and the community has responded positively and embraced them seeing as they have been around over 100 years!

There's nothing like it elsewhere in Louisville! Every day of the year is a costume party /…read moreHalloween celebration. You could spend a long time, minimum an hour, browsing the aisles and appreciating the items you wouldn't typically find on a store shelf. We love, love, love the animated rooms that feel like mini haunted houses. It's a great opportunity to see what's inside the box before you make the investment. Some of the items are not for sale, having been handmade by a store associate to make their customers smile. Prices are fair and aligned with other sources. They do allow you to try on items which is nice. Some can be more expensive and you'd want to be certain they fit well. Besides costumes they have a ton of accessories and party themed decor. Parking is a bit tough. There's very limited space next to the building and much of the street parking is metered or a pay lot. Around Halloween it can take a few passes to find an available spot. No food or drinks allowed inside so leave them in the car.

This is such a lovely store! I visited with my mother-in-law, who considers European Splendor…read moreprobably her favorite store in Louisville. And I can see why. ES has so many delightful home products to look at, including pillows, linens, art, furniture, glassware, pottery, books and more. Lavender also seems to be a favorite of the owners. You can find linens especially with lavender on them as well as sweet smelling lavender sachets. The prices range. Yes there are some expensive pieces, but the quality seems consistent with the price. One item I keep thinking about are their line of leather aprons. The staff was very friendly. I'm looking forward to going back and shopping there more soon too.

The store is aptly named, as it is splendid and immediately had aspects that reminded me of Europe. After crossing through the threshold, I immediately smelled lavender -- good lavender. There are few things that I am picky about, but after spending a summer in the south of France in college (where the scent of lavender literally wafts down the street from the open air market), I am something of a lavender snob. This is the good stuff! The store is delightful, and feels homey in a sophisticated way. There is a huge variety of merchandise, from furniture to decor to hand painted pottery. I passed on the item that caught my eye as I am looking for something just a little different, but I didn't leave without buying something lavender-scented. For your own splendid piece of Europe here in Louisville, stop by European Splendor today and discover a new favorite place -- I know that I did!

I wasn't expecting much, but after a quick sear, it turned out absolutely restaurant-quality--tender, flavorful, and perfect for a gourmet meal at home. It's rare to find high-quality seafood at such a great price, and this was a total win. If you love good food on a budget, Aldi continues to deliver!

This has changed and will probably not revert after seeing their interesting selection, great prices and ease of shopping. Growing up, Aldi was kind of crummy; pallets of food sort of arranged in aisles and it seemed to nickel and dime you on things like that quarter for the shopping cart and no bags provided. The last two are still there, but the selection of food has definitely gone upmarket. I was impressed by the wide array of meats, frozen and packaged foods, as well as the many gluten-free and no sugar added choices. The wide aisle made getting around other shoppers a breeze. I'm less impressed with their produce department that doesn't seem as well-handled (bruised and broken veggies) or the fact that most of them are required to be purchased in bulk. I don't need 10 onions. Some of the more exciting choices are around for only a limited time, so you can't depend on adding them to your regular menu. Finally, I don't think I've been where there are more than one check out lane open, so busy hours can mean decent lines. The cashiers do their best and its appreciated. I can't believe that I waited nearly a decade when it was right here!
