Just Creations has been in place for years on Frankfort Ave, clustered near other shops and restaurants. It's always a nice visit - a warm feeling when you walk in, items well stocked and nicely arranged and employees that believe in the products and people the sales support. This shop is good for unique finds and gifts, small or large. Jewelry, home decor, kids and clothing sections are available. I appreciate the placards that give you history of the part of the world and team of people creating the items. Periodically the store hosts an event. This is a really unique store with a great cause. I haven't been to many fair trade shops, but I must say that this one has a lot of really cool stuff to browse through! When you look at the tags of each item, you can see where it was made from. Indonesia, Peru and Bolivia are just a few to name. Just Creations is a non profit, and also helps out those in need in underdeveloped countries. They have everything from clothes and decor to everyday food items. Each time that I return to this fair trade store I am again enamored with the artistry and vibrancy of the items. I mean, who doesn't need a taco-truck woolen birdhouse that is made from sustainably harvested wool? My most recent find was 4 beautiful batik printed placemats from India. All through the store is 'Fair Trade Item' listed although I currently think that's an oxymoron considering the current state of US and foreign trade markets. You can absolutely find something for everyone here! The best part is that you can read about the indigenous populations who make each individual piece, so you know exactly who your money is helping to support. Although the pricing is a bit more than your average gift store, I would much rather shop here because each item is truly one-of-a-kind. You can find planters, felt/basket birdhouses, children's clothes and toys, dishes, kitchen linens, shirts and dresses, scarves, jewelry, baskets, artwork, spices, coffees, and even more. Everywhere I turned, there was something intriguing to look at. I daresay I could complete all of my Christmas shopping here in just one trip. I will definitely be back to see what is new! I love this store. It even smells good. The prices may be higher than other stores, but it is a fair trade store and the money goes to the artisans. They have food, clothing, accessories, toys, books, and home decor. I especially love all of the international Christmas decor. I also enjoy the Women's Bean Project items. It is on Frankfort Ave, so parking can be difficult, but I have never really had any trouble. read more

This local, fair trade craft store is always fun to browse. I seek them out for unique gifts, interesting jewelry and little arty pieces for my house. I always feel good that I'm supporting a great cause when I shop here as well. I love reading about the countries and artists I'm helping out. Every year in December they give back to local nonprofit organizations. Last night I participated in their shopping night for Peace Education. Peace Ed played an important role in my teenage years and I love having the chance to give back to them while shopping in a favorite store for unique Christmas gifts. It's a win for all. read more

Hello, holiday shopping time! And Just Creations is the place to take care of it. Though, I guess I'm not really speaking from experience since all I've purchased is jewelry for myself :) But, hey a really cool local shop benefited from my present to myself before I have to really start thinking about buying for friends and fam, and that's good too! So, Just Creations sells fair trade EVERYTHING and I'm really impressed by their ability to do so at FAIR PRICES. Jewelry is mostly around $10-$20 bucks for nice gemstones and handcrafted metal pieces, etc. I bought a cool tiger's eye ring wrapped in copper wire and you'll find many neat pieces here with that unique artisan flair to them. They have items made by people in developing countries as well as goods put together by people here in the states like Sweet Beginnings lotions and soaps. It's a company based out of Chicago that offers jobs to the formerly incarcerated. Staff members are really friendly and will chat about any things you have questions on. What's really cool for people like me who want to look at everything, but don't want to bug staff about minor questions like "where was this made? and, oh, what about this?" every five minutes - they've got most items labeled with the country it was created in. One of the clerks got offended when I told her that it was my first time here and I just wanted to look around. I popped in one Saturday morning and was able to leave happy with my purchases. I love their selection of earrings: bicycles, cats and pretty glass, ranging from around $10 and up. The stuff might be pricy but it's definitely worth it I love this store. They have some of the coles items from all over the world. They actually donate some of the money to the women in africa. The great thing about this store also is that it is on Frankfort aveune. There's all types of cool stores, resturants and bars on Frankfort ave. I would love to work there if they were hiring. I went into this store just to check it out but when I seen all the wonderful different things they had and the mission and good work they are doing with the fair trade I stayed in the store for awhile! I ended up buying some of the puzzle boxes for my nieces and nephews for Christmas and a wooden frog drum. The items are so wonderfully and artfully done its amazing! I also bought a bag of cloth animals to go with one of the children's books for my little niece. By the time I left the store I had bought seven Christmas presents and plan to go back .Love to do my shopping early to avoid crowds and always looking for something different to give. I love this store and the staff were very nice and gave you your space to shop. If you want something beautiful and different and a gift that will last then go to just creations it is the best!!! read more
