Aldi never fails to impress with its unbeatable prices, but the real surprise on my last trip was finding frozen wild ahi tuna. Aldi is the closest, most convenient grocery store and somehow I went 8 years without ever shopping there. This has changed and will probably not revert after seeing their interesting selection, great prices and ease of shopping. Growing up, Aldi was kind of crummy; pallets of food sort of arranged in aisles and it seemed to nickel and dime you on things like that quarter for the shopping cart and no bags provided. The last two are still there, but the selection of food has definitely gone upmarket. I was impressed by the wide array of meats, frozen and packaged foods, as well as the many gluten-free and no sugar added choices. The wide aisle made getting around other shoppers a breeze. I'm less impressed with their produce department that doesn't seem as well-handled (bruised and broken veggies) or the fact that most of them are required to be purchased in bulk. I don't need 10 onions. Some of the more exciting choices are around for only a limited time, so you can't depend on adding them to your regular menu. Finally, I don't think I've been where there are more than one check out lane open, so busy hours can mean decent lines. The cashiers do their best and its appreciated. I really enjoy shopping at Aldi's. Their prices are so great, especially when you're on a budget or if/when you want to simply shop smarter. I must admit that until recently I've mostly been a brand-person when it comes to shopping groceries. But Aldi has given me a different, and more down to earth, perspective. Yes..I said it...I admit it. Aldi's do carry some recognizable brands, but the majority is off-brands. My aunt shops here often. I was visiting and tried a good variety of foods and it all tasted really good. So I started going there for not everything on my grocer list, but a good number of items that made a difference in my overall monthly grocery bill. I prefer their Italian Blend packaged salad over Krogers. Krogers tend to have 99% of romaine and not enough of the radicchio. Aldi seems to have far more radicchio in their blend. Their Cremini / BabyBella mushrooms looked great. I can't speak to all of their produce, as I've not yet ventured that far. Their deli section of cheeses, packaged deli meats, etc. is really good. Their chicken salad is really delicious and my mother loves it. And they have a great cheese selection - goat cheese, feta, blue cheese, Kerrygold cheese selection, Babybel, Brie, Havarti, Gruyere, etc. Their meats (i.e., pork loin, ground beef, organic beef, etc.) and poultry looks worth trying at some point in the future. I like the whole self-bagging, which helps save on prices. Just remember to bring your own bag(s) or they have a selection of different bag types you can buy for low prices. This store has always been very clean and the employees very friendly. Their shelves are always adequately stocked and they have a really good and varied selection to help stock your pantries. Lastly, I enjoy that their store is small. It's so nice to shop at a place that isn't so huge that it becomes a "frustrating task" to find what you're looking for. read more

This is my favorite Aldi's in the area. They have a nice organic section as well as refrigerated section. The layout flows better here than at the Jeff store. The store also feels fresher and cleaner than the ones in Jeff or Madison. As with any Aldi's, it's a great value. read more

Love Aldi! Great prices, fresh produce, healthy choices, including organic and gluten free. No annoying plastic bags, so it is better for the environment, too. Cashiers are always so very friendly and polite. With my big family, (9 kids) it is easy to stock up groceries at these prices. read more
